Hey folks! I'm a raging NFL nerd and no stranger to the sports tab, but until recently I wasn't in to hockey. Then I took a moonlight gig tending bar at a place with like 1,924 gargantuan TVs and have been pretty much inundated by it since.

Verdict: I farking like hockey, and will make an effort next year to study the game more closely (I know the rules but can't really have a smart conversation about the sport, yet).

Quick rule question: Is there a limit to how far away the goalie can be from the crease when he covers the puck? There was a play in the last game when Quick was far outside the crease and I thought he was trying to cover it, but play continued anyway.

Anyway... Go Devils.

Senior awards ceremony at my high school is tonight. Luckily I should be back sometime in the second period.

If he starts in the crease and comes out "to cut down the shooter's angle", he can freeze the puck. If there's no shot attempt, he can't just skate outside the crease and cover the puck.

You know, I grew up with that song, associating it with hockey, but I've really come to love the new one. I'm not sure if it was the greed of the original's rightsholder, or the fact that the new one was composed by a hockey fan. Opening with Foster Hewitt's immortal line is what really matters, when I think about it...

Dear Johnathan Quick.

Your job is to keep the puck out of the net. Do your job and let your defense handle the puck in all other situations.

Do this and you will be fine.

Smiths: come on Kings step the hell up and take chances.

I've read that, according to advanced metrics, they DID take a lot of chances and really outplayed the Devils in Game 5. They lost because Quick made one mistake and Salvador is somehow skating with a horseshoe up his ass.

I'm kinda torn having no dog in this fight. LA has played so well throughout the playoffs that i'd almost be a shame if they didn't win. On the other hand the Devils deserve a ton of credit and respect for not rolling over and pushing things this far.

Fark it, I want a game 7.

Devils take this 3-2 in OT.

In here to make sure I get counted as being in every thread. Promised my friend we'd go to karaoke while I was here, and tonight is the only damn night it's happening. I'd rather not be strangled by her, so I'm stuck. I guess I go back to rooting for the Devils tonight, so we can get a crazy game 7 and I can actually see it.

This is the only adversity this Kings team has faced in these playoffs.
They don't deserve to win the cup if they lose 3 in a row in the Stanley Cup finals.

Good news of the day, Jamison can't find enough investors to invest in the Coyotes & GWI is planning on taking them to court to block the sale.. which won't be necessary since Jamison doesnt have the money.
