What kind of test was this?

I dunno about those pictures.

If my family members witheld that kind of shiat from me for 12 days. I don't think I'd collapse like that.

It'd be more of the "Hmnn!" sniff and off to the liquor store to get a bottle that'd put me down for a day or two.

Lando Lincoln: What kind of test was this?

The gaokao is essentially the test that determines whether you end up as a factory worker or a white collar worker. So pretty damn important.

It was a deception/lie? Well then I am okay with this. You see sometimes it is necessary for one to utilize the deception/lie in the appropriate of circumstances upon which we will see for the future of this individual that the deception/lie was the appropriate thing. Now what I will say is the following. It would not have been the appropriate thing for them to use the lie/lie or the lie/deception because if lie comes first then it is always the wrong thing. Now you might be saying MEOW WHY DID THEY NOT USE THE DECEPTION/DECEPTION. Well I do not know this as the article that was provided is mostly pictures of the boy as he goes through the grief and horror of learning this and the popperizzas of taking the pictures but I am thinking the reason is because the deception/deception would not be the adequate thing to prevent the testing issues. You see the deception/lie is the most appropriate in such the case because upon learning of the death of the mother you do not wish to take test. I would know this as I have the friend who had to take the test on the day of learning the friend of she passed away and she did not do well on this. Well she also got really drunk the night before and did not study but you see I think had she received the deception/lie on the day of the exam it would have been better.

Of course the boy will feel bad if taking the test of him both caused the death of the mother and he failed this exam because he bubbled the Scantron too lightly for the machine to adhere the answers.

All right, settle down. Settle down... Now, before I begin the lesson, will those of you who are playing in the match this afternoon move your clothes down onto the lower peg immediately after lunch, before you write your letter home, if you're not getting your hair cut, unless you've got a younger brother who is going out this weekend as the guest of another boy, in which case, collect his note before lunch, put it in your letter after you've had your hair cut, and make sure he moves your clothes down onto the lower peg for you. Now two boys have been found rubbing linseed oil into the school cormorant. Now some of you may feel that the cormorant does not play an important part in the life of the school, but I would remind you that it was presented to us by the corporation of the Town of Sudbury to commemorate Empire Day, when we try to remember the names of all those from the Sudbury area who so gallantly gave their lives to keep China British. So from now on, the cormorant is strictly OUT OF BOUNDS. Oh and Jenkins? Apparently your mother died this morning.

I can definitely understand not calling a kid out of a test (especially something as important as an entrance exam) to let them know, but 12 days is epic.

Gee, I'm real sorry your mom blew up, Ricky...

Yeah, I'm not sure why the people in the comments section of the article are so appalled. I think one person put it best when they said that his mom is dead whether he knew about it or not. His family was trying to make sure *he* has a good future; which, as a mother, I think I can say with a fair amount of certainty his mother would be on board with.

I don't know a lot of moms out there who would be all, "I'd much rather my son be freaking out over me being dead verses being focused on doing his best on the one test that will ensure he has a decent shot in life."

But that's me~ I shouldn't try and speak for all mother's, I realize. He may or may not resent the hell out of his family right now, who knows. But, I hope that in time, especially if he was able to focus on his test and do well, he will understand they were trying to do what they thought was in his best interests. And in all seriousness, most parents and families are really trying their best to do what they think will be in their children's best interests at the time; and it's not always clear at the time, even if it seems completely obvious afterwards on the internet.

I could see waiting hours before breaking the news, like she passed away as he is going in the room the to take the test. 12 days of waiting is excessive. No mention if she was buried yet or they may be waiting for dad to get out of hospital, but that would be messed up if everyone else got to hold a funeral service and moved on without him. That was nice of the school to decide for them instead of letting the family decide for themselves.

The exam is several days long. If you don't do well on it, you don't get to enter higher education. If you don't take it, you don't get to enter higher education. Fault the exam, but it is still the reality of their world, and his family made a good choice in this.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD CHARLES

I have to say... they all probably saved this kid's future by letting him write the exams without emotional turmoil. Knowing Asians and most other humans, it's what his mom would have wanted, and it's not like he could have saved her.

This.

It was great of them to get a camera there to record the moment. Will this be the new online AW trend? Recording relatives' reactions when informing them of a death?
