I found this yesterday. Fun stuff.

I hear The Mats may get back together for Coachella. A tour is sure to leave the treatment bound

Has Against Me put out anything decent since Axl Rose?

Sincerely curious because that's all I really care about. Tried once or twice but ugh, I don't know.

Since they're pairing with Jett I doubt it.

Because they are part of the daily gay indoctrination. We are supposed to be impressed.

Now he/she just needs to find a beauty pageant to enter.

The Eternal Cowboy was good. Their two major label releases were meh, but I thought the b-sides for them were great. And they have consistently done a fantastic live show.

As The Eternal Cowboy and Searching For A Former Clarity were great, I loved New Wave, White Crosses...eh, it was alright.

Also, how awesome is it that one of the classic politics tab trolls is in an Against Me! thread? Ah, old school Fark, how I've missed you.

I just saw them open for The Cult on Saturday, and I can confidently say that they play music.

Laura Grace so far just looks like a 70s glam rocker. To me Against Me! has always had a strain of glitter rock in it, so it kind of fits, in my opinion.

If you need to be indoctrinated about that stuff, you've been in the closet far too long.

Every record since that one has been good or great, with New Wave and As The Eternal Cowboy tied for the best (the former slick, the latter raw). Some people knock on White Crosses, but I can't knock an album with tracks like White Crosses, I Was a Teenage Anarchist, Spanish Moss, and Rapid Decompression. It's not as front-to-back good as the others, but it's got some great stuff on it.

And they still put on a fantastic show. I was at the show linked in the OP, standing in just about the same spot where they video was taken. They ripped through a good set of new material (four new songs set for the next record, all of them good), recent material, and older stuff, closing out with Pints of Guinness Make You Strong and Sink, Florida, Sink. Good stuff.

Like verbaltoxin notes, the change in appearance wasn't all that drastic or weird. Now leans towards the glam look rather than the punk look. But what is important is how they sound, and they sound no different.

Found this gem on YT last week: NSFW?

JJ and the Blackhearts "Do you wanna touch". Not the official video, but a compilation of things you would like to touch; Bo Derek, Liz Hurley, Reform School Girls.

Yeah, we have a free concert series every year up at one of the ski resorts. Free concert every Saturday, 1 national name each year, and then a bunch of smaller ones, about 8 weeks long. First summer we were up here, it was Joan Jett, and we just didn't get around to going. I'm still kicking myself on that one. Not only to her her for free, but at an outdoor 'In the park' style setup where the farthest seat is probably 75 feet from the stage? Arrrrrrgh!

Someone prefers sex with the opposite gender? Fine. Someone prefers sex with the same gender? Fine. Someone thinks they should cut off their dick? "YAY THEM!" WTF is wrong with society? Someone hates themself enough to surgically mutilate their body and we're supposed to applaud them rather than refer them to psychiatrists?

You are confused. This is a concert and it is customary that you applaud them at the end of each song. Hooting and hollering is also acceptable.

Oh look, someone who clearly doesn't know what the f*ck they're talking about.

You're aware that the treatments she's going through require therapy before surgery can even be considered as an option, right? You aren't really just an ignorant prick?

This. For all the love Joan Jett gets, her best songs have been covers of early 70s glam rock. She's a terrible songwriter for the most part. Great song interpreter maybe? If so then I guess Me First and the Gimme Gimmes have raised what she does to an artform.

You're right, because they don't ever deal with ostracism, abuse, ridicule and hate. Gender reassignment is a walk in the park, nowhere near as hard as logging onto Fark, now THAT takes bravery...

I always assumed it's because of the reaction of other people that their decision is considered brave. When people not involved in the decision can shut the fark up and not care, then it won't be a matter of 'bravery' anymore.

Hurry up, science, and catch up with SF.

Yeah, the guy who was on stage had no business being there. How dare those other musicians all start playing and demand that he(she now) start singing like it was her job.

Part of the point of all of this is that people have had to live in fear for centuries. It's why they called it 'In the closet'. Who are you and I to deny them their pride in finally not having to hide?

Besides, if the singer hadn't been "paraded around like some trophy", do you think the fans might have noticed?

"by people who have no understanding of what they went through"
As in Joan Jett, a lesbian, and this (ex)guy's bandmates? I'm sure they have some inkling of what he went through before becoming a she.

So you agree, no special treatment? No do overs on drivers licenses? Oh and hey how about that keeping your past gender a secret from future partners so you can get married? Glad were on the same page, cause I think its bullshiat too. Hiding your true original birth gender from your partners no matter what it is should be considered rape and prosecuted as such. Highfive.

Such a mediocre band. Saw them open for SSPU a couple of years ago and remember thinking that most garage bands I've seen had more talent. If it wasn't for their little transgender sideshow, this wouldn't be reporting.

I'm sorry, but RAPE? That's hilariously insane. Rape is forced sex. How is consensual sex forced merely because you didn't know this person's previous gender history? That's absurd.

I was born intersexed. I'm celibate now but I've dated and had sex before. Some of those people I didn't tell what my "original birth gender" was. It didn't f*cking matter. It was meaningless sex.

The ones that mattered, I told. And it didn't matter to them.

/Probably just falling for a troll, but f*ck it.
