They were never out of fashion.

Nah. I look like a homeless person whacked out on double-action PCP and Crack when I get more than five days' growth.

Plus, the itching. The horrible, horrible itching.

As long as we get some hardcore styles out of this fad, I'm tired of the I-forgot-to-shave-today "beard" crap. Let's get more Amish farmer, Rutherford B. Hayes, Karl Marx looking beards going in popular culture.

It's about 85 outside right now, as much as I like looking at manly beards, I doubt I'm going to see many in this area except for the aging boomers and random bikers. Do Not Want, thanks.

My beard sucks. It's calico and I have a cowlick right above my larynx. I suppose it might look okay if I grew it out to an inch long or longer, but I'm sweating and itching just thinking about that.

Oh man, could you imagine if they started switching up genders on the villains in the Batman stories? How odd would that be... (Never read the actual comics much so if they already did this, feel free to correct me)

Does this have anything to do with the Budweiser promotion where you're supposed to stop shaving because you use 5 gallons of water to shave?

That's right - they claim it needs five gallons of water to shave every day.

If I start to grow a beard, after about 4 days I start to look like a hippie. And not in any sort of fashionable way, just a dirty hippie. Then after about 2 weeks I look like a bum. Instead of facial hair making me look 'rugged' I just look untidy. I'm sure if I let it grow to a good length and styled it then maybe it might look OK. But the problem is that my facial hair grows slow and isn't very dense so it would take probably 6 months to get a decent beard. I can't put up with looking like a bum for 6 months.

I look best clean shaven but I do also look OK with 1 or 2 days growth as long as I keep it tidy at the edges. And since shaving usually gives me a few spots (I'm prone to acne) I tend to just forgo shaving and just regularly trim down to stubble.

Geez I hate beards, they're so uncomfortable. I don't care if it becomes mandatory, I will not grow one. I once let mine grow because I was deathly ill, and the moment I could stand up for more than a few minutes at a time, I shaved that sh*t off. It felt so good to be free of the beard it was nearly orgasmic.

If you want to follow fashion and look like a dork or a devout Muslim/Amish farmer, be my guest.

True, it's an investment. Unless you have a freakishly fast growing beard, I've been told that you're going to look like crap for at least a couple of months while things grow in and fill in patchy spots. I won't try it because it just gets too itchy and I'd rather not put up with that. Shaving with anything other than a straight razor just leaves me with an asymmetrical shadow, so I have to maintain at least a few days growth.

This.

Had my beard for over 20 years now. Sometimes it's a short one like I've had for a while and other times I'll grow it out where it's getting into Grizzly Adams territory.

Oh and this.
