dragonchild: Don't worry, the justice system will. . . oh no wait biological parents are always infinitely superior.

read down far enough and it turns out the girl is adopted. these folks can stand a few years in the big house.

although they probably will get very few while the guy with two marijuana cigarettes get 20 to life.

Put the parents in the coop. Place food and water just out of reach. Problem solved

When her parents felt she needed more work for the day, they said she was forced to go to a neighbor's house to clean and scrub the home.\

And how in the f--k can that neighbor live with themselves... cheap labor? What?

I had to work with my mom helping to scrub my grandma's house from time to time, but I didn't do it because I misbehaved, but because grandma couldn't anymore and it was about that time.

Several neighbors and witnesses said they watched the girl performing heavy manual labor including lifting large rocks, for hours in the extreme heat. Steven Balis said, "I've seen her out working in the gardens, digging ditches in the hot sun with two or three older boys watching her. I've seen her toting rocks up the road; she looked like she was in rough shape."

I really freaking hope each one of those witnesses made a call to CPS.

There's a difference between teaching your kids hard work and discipline and working your children to the ridiculous degree that equals abuse. Sigh.

The woman said she began to cook for the girl, but was interrupted, when Diana Franklin, the girl's mother, grabbed the girl and according to the neighbor yelled, "You can't eat if you don't work.

You can't eat if you don't work... isn't that a bible verse or something? Sounds like these assholes were using fundie parenting techniques that would make the sadistic son of a biatch who wrote To Train Up a Child want to call the cops...

I have a nice solution for these people. .22 to the back of the head, lime-lined pit. Done. I'm sorry, but if this is how you treat your child(ren), you have no business breathing oxygen anymore.

You know that feeling of revulsion you get when you see something really disgusting, like a photo of some deep sea terror or that Florida cannibal victim? I get the same feeling when I read about "parents" like this. No ITG here, but I hope their suffering is long and painful.
