Not an open field at all. I'm not used to seeing so many players on screen at a time.

Too bad about Puyols and the injury. I was looking forward to seeing him.

Pretty good match we've got going so far.

That play-on probably could have ended in a yellow...lucky

expobill: orange storm: I like how Italy uses blue on their kits even though it is not on their flag.

azzuri royalty in italia was always blue since the middle ages, and before

I like it, think more countries should try it, not always be married to the same color scheme just because it is on their flag.

One of the poorer dives of late....

2012-06-10 12:18:48 PM
Sometimes I'm ashamed to be part Italian. Enough with the diving already

You missed Busquettes sper embellishment to get the free kick outside the box?

Ah, Italy - Spain... the beautiful game men.

The rolling on the ground in agony was a bit too much.

Espana still has the goal scores to win this match

Maybe that's why I'm starting to feel like this is a repeat of the Dutch game yesterday. :(

I think the Irish will have a bit of an edge in this tournament, as they're allowed to use their hands, shoulder checking is legal, goals are worth three points for them, and a kick over the goal is worth one.

Sweet dophin tat on Cassano arm

Only the Irish are allowed to play that way -- thus the outrage (also due to the Guinness).

Oh, and there's no offsides

2012-06-10 12:29:24 PM
Italy's tactical approach is working so far - also De Rossi is a heck of a player.

Iniesta looks like a gargoyle that's been in a rainy climate for a millenium.

Inesta and Xavi both have super punchable faces.

2012-06-10 12:32:08 PM
Wow, surprising no call.

2012-06-10 12:32:25 PM

2012-06-10 12:32:25 PM
Yup. This game is ugly.

2012-06-10 12:32:26 PM
red card?

2012-06-10 12:33:38 PM

expobill: red card?

Ball moving away from goal, so yellow at best. Still surprised Cassano got off with just a warning.

this match is great, just no goals yet

2012-06-10 12:33:48 PM

expobill: red card?

Not a red, but surprised it wasn't a yellow...

Then the Italian GK almost plays the ball outside the box?

2012-06-10 12:33:53 PM
This "let them play" mentality the ref is showing is going to get someone hurt and/or red carded,

I would LOVE to see anyone on either of these two teams try to play in the NFL. Especially at RB.

A warning for punching the turf? Really?
