Yes, but in return for Ric Flair appearing at the HoF ceremony, Vince apparently agreed to let TNA use Christian.

Makes you wonder if Senile Vince put the IC belt on Christian so he could sit back and giggle because TNA is making a big deal over one of his midcard champions.

Yeah. I never cared for Dave, though. He was a prick, both in the ring and in real life.

I can't wait to see Sting hand Bobby Roode's butt to him, however.

Wrestling is actually (as crazy as it sounds) what TNA focuses on. The Knockouts division is actually full of talent and girls who wrestle.

worst thing that can happen to TNA is give Christian humongous pop, showing Vince that if he main events Christian he will take TNA's audience.
Just kidding Vince will move Christian to the women's division and have him job to AJ

When was Savage in TNA?

2012-06-10 07:36:37 PM
While I really don't have the intestinal fortitude for weekly Impact viewings, I will likely partake in this wacky PPV. TNA seems to be putting out some decent product as of late.

In other news, I rode this roller coaster 59 times today for charity. We ended up raising $7,600 for Give Kids the World at our park. There were similar charity marathons today across the entire chain of Cedar Fair parks.

You're confusing TNA getting better with WWE getting worse. TNA isn't any better. They hung the belt on a senior citizen and let Hogan bring his no talent Amazon daughter in to the show.

Hi, I'm LucklessWonder, you may remember me from such WWE threads as MITB2011.

I have a lot of WWE stuff to watch due to being in classes on Mondays, I have a veritable torrent of RAWs to catch up on on the *ahem* DVR, and a couple PPV's, as I haven't watched any wrasslin' since Bryan jobbed out in 18 seconds at 'Mania.

What is this I hear about TNA actually having superior product.

St. Louis native here. The Ortons live in St. Louis County, and Randy went to high school there (He supposedly has a house in St. Charles, though I have no idea why he'd live there, there are rich neighborhoods there but nothing remarkable, and not something a millionaire working for WWE would buy, but I digress). Every once in a great while we wrestling fans would get to talking about the old timers, and of course "Ace" and his car dealership would come up. One word is always, always, always associated with the Ortons. Assholes. Every one of them.

So to hear that Randy is a prick fits right in with the general perception around St. Louis that Bob was giant asshole too. The fact that no matter if he's a face or heel, Randy never loses his sour puss expression says a lot also.

2012-06-10 08:04:46 PM
good crowd. Glad to see that.

This has the possibility to be a pretty damn good night.

I'd kill to see Christian be the challenger in Crimson's Open Challenge.

2012-06-10 08:04:54 PM
We really need a "Me. Me everywhere" gif for Hogan.

2012-06-10 08:05:05 PM
If I hadn't watched wrestling in 20 years I would just think a bad Hulk Hogan impersonator came out.

2012-06-10 08:05:15 PM

Jonny Chimpo: I miss the 6 sided ring

Same here.

What happened to the Time Tunnel set? This just looks like a knockoff of Raw's pre-HD set.

And we start right off with Hulk Hogan...

2012-06-10 08:05:21 PM
And we start off with the orange goblin himself.

2012-06-10 08:05:44 PM

It's apparently a slightly different version THQ used in a WCW video game for the N64.

Oh n64...

Yep and Hogan is eating it up. He'll probably make an in ring comeback now

Samoa Joe vs. Austin Aries up first!

2012-06-10 08:08:56 PM
Oh god, "old school"

2012-06-10 08:09:01 PM
Now Hulk, how can a company excel when the boss lady only cares about porking the talent? Joe-Aries deserves more than a curtain jerker

2012-06-10 08:09:15 PM
X division to lead off. Sounds like what wcw used to with the luchas

2012-06-10 08:09:17 PM
Joe v. Aries for the X-division title... I could enjoy this.

2012-06-10 08:09:21 PM
A TITLE MATCH ON A PPV? HOLY shiat! HOGAN IS BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS!

2012-06-10 08:09:22 PM
Joe vs Aries for the X Title?

this should be one hell of a match

2012-06-10 08:09:26 PM
Old school? HOW ABOUT YOU PUT THE SIX SIDES IN THE THE RING!

2012-06-10 08:09:26 PM
This is what they should be doing: Impact at Universal and minor PPVs and they go on the road for some of the bigger events.

2012-06-10 08:09:38 PM
how does Joe qualify for the X-Divison?

2012-06-10 08:09:44 PM
Saved the best for last first.

2012-06-10 08:09:50 PM
Joe better be motivated. I'd think Aries would inspire him to put on his working boots, but who knows, he might be pissy about curtainjerking.

2012-06-10 08:09:53 PM
So...I don't follow TNA at all. Is the X Division like their mid-carder IC/US title or more like the old Cruiserweight Title?

2012-06-10 08:10:09 PM
Match cancelled, Samoa Joe already ate Austin Aries.

2012-06-10 08:10:10 PM
The X-division has weight limits now? WTF?

2012-06-10 08:10:43 PM
Joe is over the weight to challenge for this title but according to the commentator this makes perfect sense.

2012-06-10 08:10:44 PM
I think Hemme should probably be naked for this show. It is a celebration an all

2012-06-10 08:10:56 PM

Dougie AXP: how does Joe qualify for the X-Divison?

"Old school," I suppose, means "X-Division = not weight limits, but no limits."

2012-06-10 08:11:07 PM

Fisty Bum: So...I don't follow TNA at all. Is the X Division like their mid-carder IC/US title or more like the old Cruiserweight Title?

It used to be like the Cruiserweight title, but without a weight limit. Back in the day, anyway. Apparently it has one now.

2012-06-10 08:11:23 PM
But I thought that the X division wasn't about weight limits, it was about no limits.

2012-06-10 08:11:33 PM

Fisty Bum: So...I don't follow TNA at all. Is the X Division like their mid-carder IC/US title or more like the old Cruiserweight Title?

Sorta, but.. It's hard to describe.. It's a different style in a way. It's hard to describe.

2012-06-10 08:11:54 PM

2012-06-10 08:14:10 PM

eddievercetti: Old school? HOW ABOUT YOU PUT THE SIX SIDES IN THE THE RING!

Takes too long for new guys to adapt. You get guys like Booker T and the Dudleyz who looked like crap when they started because they had spent 20 years working on their craft in a four sided ring.

TNA is more than a gimmick ring. ECW was more than barbed wire and chairs. WCCW was more than Freebirds/Von Erich. Attitude Era was more than swearing, etc.

2012-06-10 08:14:11 PM

But even the heavyweights of TNA are 100% more athletic and creative than WWE.

That's because I don't believe TNA has a house style.

When you work WWE, You work WWE Style or you don't work for Vince long.

What Vince doesn't understand is that part of the fun is the different styles. It wasn't Piper vs. Hogan people wanted to see when the NWO was riding high... they tuned in for NWO Vignettes, and cruiserweight matches because the cruiserweights were the best thing WCW had going.

There are athletic wrestlers in WWE. They just aren't allowed to actually wrestle until they walk out with the company's belt.

Rumor has it that it'll be the focus of the first hour of Raw. WCW did something similar. They had a live Luche Libre show on Telemundo before Nitro started on TNT.

/the match was also really good

2012-06-10 08:25:35 PM
So what happened to Samoa Joe? A few years ago he was suppose to be one of the best in the world. Now it seems like he is a mid carder or worse. Is she just not as good as people thought or is TNA just screwing up again?

Now that he's gone, the booking is getting so much better. Joe is looking the way Samoa Joe should look.

He's the Fat-Miz?

2012-06-10 08:26:46 PM
Austin Aries kinda reminds me of WCW Chris Jericho: a cruiserweight/X division champ who is on the verge of being a superstar

2012-06-10 08:27:12 PM
Wha, a guy won a contest to be a bell winner

Kid Kash vs. Hernandez next.

Kid Kash? He's still around?

2012-06-10 08:27:34 PM

They're just there enjoying it ironicly.

Why is Kid Kash-Hernandez even a match on the show? I watched the past two episodes of Impact. What's the storyline?

There are athletic wrestlers in WWE. They just aren't allowed to actually wrestle until they walk out with the company's belt.

Yeah I was going to say other than Punk and Danielson at the top but I think it goes without saying. And they're not the main event even when they're competing for the top title.

And FNB is totally right. Even guys I really enjoy watching like Ziggler and Cody Rhodes don't stray too far from the WWE formula. Ziggler has some twists with his show off stuff but it's still drop kicks and elbow drops. Would people want to watch ADR (as opposed to now) if he brought back a more luchador style

The way I see it: WWE = bicycle kick
TNA = Pele kick

And this is for you, Aries!

/Christy Hemme and Lillian Garcia should wrestle it out in jell-o.

There were some hidden rules, though. You have to be Taz's wiper for the night, because no way those arms reach all the way around.

two wrestlers returning to active competition at the PPV

that's the storyline.

2012-06-10 08:28:54 PM
That was a really good match.... Not a TNA fan in the least, it always seemed amateurish, but that was actually a good opener.

That was a different power move.. I liked it.

What happened to Petey Williams?

2012-06-10 08:32:46 PM
2 matches now, and in each of them, both wrestlers are looking strong, as well as selling for the opponent.

I'd forgotten what that was like.

I'm...enjoying TNA? Does not compute.

2012-06-10 08:34:32 PM
Am I crazy or does the ring during Impact look smaller than the ring you would see in the WWE?

Is it just the camera angle playing tricks on me? I'm not noticing it now but I'm not sure if that's because they're not in the usual studio or because I'm not watching on TV.

2012-06-10 08:34:35 PM
this one match will be longer in wrestling time compared to all matches on tomorrow night's 3 hour Raw.

Make with the promos damnit!

Then again, he's like Arn Anderson: started out older than he looked, and has since caught up age-wise.

Eddie T. Head: Was that a "United Maffew Order" sign at ringside?

It sure was. Botchamania is a big part of why I started watching wrestling again.

/And it's the only reason I know about CZW

2012-06-10 08:36:36 PM
Ah, so this is the piss break.

2012-06-10 08:36:38 PM
I guarantee that there is nobody sitting in the stands on the camera sides. EVERY single camera shot makes sure to never show those stands.

2012-06-10 08:36:59 PM
Dear God, TNA desperately needs a new costumer. Those sweaters were ugly when my mother used to make them in the 1960's.

It sounded like Christy called them Rummy and Rummy T.

A Bischoff on the screen? Time for an Orton.

2012-06-10 08:37:26 PM
Two Zack Ryder knockoffs vs. Bischoff's brat and D-Von? I think our hot streak of matches just ended.

There are and there aren't. They've showed a couple of wide shots. It looks like they set it up like the Impact Zone. There are about five rows on the floor and only the first couple of rows of the upper level. Almost everyone camera-side is in the lower bowl.

2012-06-10 08:40:52 PM
Oh, it looks like Madison Rayne may have picked up one of AJ's WWE scripts.

I'm still mad at the Los Angeles King Flyers of Philadelphia in Anaheim County

ehh. they aren't taking chances and NJD figured that out. LA been playing to "not lose". but they fail at not playing to win.

even Philly East took 3 games to finish the Penns after being up 3-0.

maybe this is their way of paying homage.

Giddy lookin'.

2012-06-10 08:41:29 PM
At least they're not making Bischoff look like superman or something. He's taking bumps and selling while saving the TV Champ for the hope spot and comeback. Good booking so far.

The sheets are saying that Vince is starting to see Alberto Del Aburrido as injury prone, just like Mister Kenderson.

Of course, I don't think Orton has the stroke any longer to Orton ADR's career away.

Because Sheamus farked him up by ramming his head into a steel WWE logo, and God knows we can't blame Hunter's workout buddy for anything.

Looking forward to this. If Hardy is sober, he can put on a hell of a match. Combined with Anderson and RVD, this has the potential to be an awesome match

Is Vince McMahon Trying to Drive Vickie Guerrero Out of WWE?
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 06.10.2012

Could the weight jokes be an attempt to make her quit?

- With Vickie Guerrero continually being subjected to jokes and insults about her weight, it has been wondered if Vince McMahon is trying to drive her out of WWE. Rajah notes that even with an anti-bullying campaign and Guerrero having lost over fifty pounds, she is still the subject of ridicule over her weight as recently as last month, at the hands of Jerry Lawler during Over the Limit.

Vickie was offered a lifetime contract after the death of her husband Eddie Guerrero. Vince McMahon has publicly promised to take care of Eddie's family for the rest of their lives and did so by giving Vickie a job. When Vickie asked to get out of her contract in 2009 because she felt it was important to spend more time with her teenage daughters, McMahon was reportedly very angry. According to Matthew Randazzo V in the July 2009 issue of Power Slam, "He takes grievous offence and begins to rant and rave that Guerrero has betrayed WWE. Yes, Vince believes that the widow of Eddie Guerrero is ungrateful to the professional wrestling industry because she is putting her family first. From this point on, Vince's shameless lackeys curry his favor by pitching gratuitous pig and fatso jokes at creative meetings-which earn booming guffaws from Vince."

That incident is what has some convinced that Vince is not trying to run her off. As Dave Meltzer put it when asked this week by a reader, "I don't think they've ever tried to run her off. They just had an idea for her character. The worst stuff was when she had already given notice a few years back, as opposed to them trying to get her to leave."

When asked last year if the WWE's negative comments about her weight bothered her, Vickie said, "They really don't bother me. Well, I guess they did to an extent, but not to where I was feeling bad about myself. It was who I was. We have beautiful women that work with us, and when I was in the locker room with them and we're dressing and stuff, I would look at them and be like, 'Oh, this is ridiculous. I'm going to change.' I wanted to feel good being a part of their group and to live a lifestyle that was going to be promoted with the WWE. Now when they say the jokes, it's like, 'Whatever.' [laughs] The jokes have helped grow my character to what it is. I just kind of roll with it and leave it behind me when I leave the arena. Again, there's the character and then there's the real person. You can't take what's going on at work personally."

They're f*cking stupid if they bury Del Rio or get rid of him. He shouldn't have been mega-pushed but he could become a great midcard heel. That's a guy who could hold the US title and get people to care about it. He's also not a liability like Orton.

Vince just hates it when people get popular, especially if they're not steroid freak musclebound meatheads.

That's why Ryberg is getting pushed to the moon!

He's always been like that. When Ricky Steamboat asked for time off in mid-1987 to be there for the end of his wife's pregnancy and the birth of his son, Vince immediately took the IC belt off him and gave it to the motherfarking Honky Tonk Man.

Why would they try to get rid of Vickie? If anything she should be recruiting more wrestlers into her stable so they can gradually work on their mic skills and have easier access to storylines through her.

She should also have a feud with Ricardo.

that's why Angle quit...he was addicted to pain killers, had neck problems, and asked Vince for a couple of months off to get treatment, and take a rest (remember the few years before that, he had several "experimental" neck procedures that decreased recover time). Vince lost it, Angle said Vince was livid, called him ungrateful and that Angle was an ingrate. Angle got pissed threw the whole "we are independent contractors, right?" And told Vince when his contract expired, he was gone.

Crimson reminds me of Christian for some reason.

whoever comes in for this match needs to be a "holy sh*t" name.

2012-06-10 09:05:12 PM
And cue Christian

2012-06-10 09:05:15 PM
And nobody cares.

2012-06-10 09:05:26 PM
Okay I'm not Batista fan but this is one of the few times I'd take a WWE-ject squashing a TNA talent. Crimson is green, he's boring and he should have never been set up for failure with such an angle. So if it's gonna go down that way, I'm cool with it.

Instead of burying her, he's just being nice and pulling the "Creative has nothing for you" card and keeping her off TV even though the fans wanted her back in April and almost expected her back.

2012-06-10 09:06:01 PM
What the hell is Amazing Red's brother doing on this PPV?

FinFangFark: eddievercetti: Dumb-Ass-Monkey: When Vickie asked to get out of her contract in 2009 because she felt it was important to spend more time with her teenage daughters, McMahon was reportedly very angry.

So when the woman asked to leave for awhile to raise her daughters by herself in a tough time, Vince got angry? God, what a old fart.

that's why Angle quit...he was addicted to pain killers, had neck problems, and asked Vince for a couple of months off to get treatment, and take a rest (remember the few years before that, he had several "experimental" neck procedures that decreased recover time). Vince lost it, Angle said Vince was livid, called him ungrateful and that Angle was an ingrate. Angle got pissed threw the whole "we are independent contractors, right?" And told Vince when his contract expired, he was gone.

I believe they said that they wanted to limit his work load rather than shorten his schedule. That of course meant taking Angle out of the main events and Angle didn't want anything to do with that plan.

But the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

2012-06-10 09:07:08 PM
LOL at the one dude clapping at the mention of being a loser.

2012-06-10 09:07:23 PM
My favorite person Vince tried to rrun out of a contract was Mark Henry

Gave him a 10 year guarantee I think it was and did everything possible to humiliate and drive him out, and he stuck around.

finally when he was dead for talent he managed to go "okay go for it"

and he did.

then he got injured and worked through it before finally asking for time off

and vince went HA HA YOU CALL COME CRAWLING TO MY ANAL HOLE SUCK MY STARFISH.

so Storm breaks an undefeated streak after being off TV and playing up the "will i come back" angle.

that's a build up

too bad no one cares but it shows vested interest.

in WWE Storm woulda been back 4 days later.

2012-06-10 09:09:36 PM

NotEric: Am I crazy or does the ring during Impact look smaller than the ring you would see in the WWE?

Is it just the camera angle playing tricks on me? I'm not noticing it now but I'm not sure if that's because they're not in the usual studio or because I'm not watching on TV.

WWE uses a 20 ft. ring. Most rings are 16. This could be what you're seeing.

I love this crowd! They're making the event even better, because you can tell they really want to be there, and aren't just a bunch of seat fillers.

Congrats to Storm on his return!
