Not only does PETA kill at least some of the animals they rescue, but some years ago Ingrid Newkirk actually advocated people turning their dogs & cats free. Nevermind the fact that the average domesticated cat or dog wouldn't last long on their own. I guess Newkirk doesn't mind them risking starvation, dying from illness or injury, etc, just so long as they're free.

Your average dog or cat would do just fine. Dogs adopt a pack mentallity and become dangerous scavangers. The packs often become threats not only to local ecosystem, but also to local farmers and ranchers. Toy dogs do not do well without human assistance.

Cats (as long as they maintain their claws) tend to do well. Your average house cat can be dropped off in the countryside and can be expected to start hunting for sustenance.

So, she's into cannibalism.

You know each to their own. However, I'm of the opinion that life is short so one must enjoy all of lifes bounty. I love tasting new food and as an expat living in Germany, I have a new appreciation for culinary exploration.

That being said, their kill percentage for their shelters is due to the fact that they take in EVERY animal that crosses the threshold of their intake facilities. Animals that would be turned away at any SPCA shelter or vets office.

They take in DEAD animals, dying animals, and they count all pregnant animals. Most shelters do not do this.

So, in all reality, PETA doesn't kill any more animals than any one else does, they just count all the ones that they take in, and they take in all of them.

LectertheChef: While I've never partaken of fetus, I have indulged in the flesh of infants. My current favorite is marinated in achote, seville oranges and habañero, then slow roasted. Serve that up with some red onions, as well as habañero salsa, as a torta, or tacos. It is one of the most sublime of culinary experiences, and I highly recommend it. The infant's flesh is just so tender, It falls right off the bone.
