I think the guy on the left was playing a dildo. Some sort of percussive dildo, but a dildo regardless.

2012-06-09 08:10:08 AM
what the hell is a Carly Rae Jepsen and why am I seeing her song being posted everywhere?

Also, fark jimmy fallon. Your show is terrible.

That was fun. Haters gonna hate.

Turn on a radio every once in a while. I presume you can get a signal from your bunker.

This is a song that I really should hate, but it's just so damn catchy.

Props to the guy in the bottom right making a xylophone look badass.

I've seen it. His lone saving grace is that he generally has good guest and musicians, but it's an otherwise unwatchable giggle-fest.

He's a shill for Capital One, all arguments are invaild.

2012-06-09 08:54:07 AM
I used to watch Ferguson pretty regularly, but his show has turned into a one-note childish crapfest. Fallon is fun and sometimes innovative. Good stuff often.

2012-06-09 09:07:34 AM
Fallon has learned to play to his strengths - impressions and music. As a result, his show is infinitely better than it was when he started.

/"Neil Young" singing "Whip My Hair" was farking brilliant

2012-06-09 09:13:50 AM
How many elementary school students even know who Jimmy Fallon is? His show comes up way too late for them.

MisterLoki: That was fun. Haters gonna hate.

I don't watch the show. It's on too late for an old man like myself.

But that was cute.

Believe that was a Doc Johnson #4 Labia Stretcher, in C#.

I couldn't hear the ukulele. It needed more ukulele. I gotta have more ukulele, baby.

2012-06-09 09:31:09 AM
The guys in the background were hilarious, especially the dude with the bongos bobbin' his head to the cheesy beat.

She was on Canadian Idol in 2007.. she took 3rd place

Now she's bigger than Hedley lol

I always liked her

Not bad. As someone who grew up listening to things like Illadelph Halflife, it's interesting to see where The Roots are now.

Also, the Downton Abbey spoofs are frickin hilarious.

Part 2

the next chimpmunks movie will feature this song.

I really like fallon, but that show would be nothing without the roots.

this video was cute

2012-06-09 09:49:36 AM
Interesting to note, one of the co writers of this song is Josh Ramsay the lead singer from Marianas Trench

do people still listen to the radio? I'm curious as to how there are still "hits" that everyone but me has heard

I'm in Rotsky's camp on this one. I thought I couldn't hate him more after watching him ruin sketches on SNL. Then I learned that it's possible to want to murder someone when I saw him on the field for the 2004 World Series win. Then I started cutting myself when I learned he'd be next in line for the David Letterman/Conan O'Brien 12:30 NBC time slot.
I begrudgingly watched a few shows, and it's actually really good.
I think I need a few more years before I'm over all that other stuff, though, and can't watch him in SNL reruns.

She's adorable. I even like the actual video for the song.

Ignoring the stupid title, this article sheds a little light on how this song came to be: Link

/After reading that, she does seem to have more of a 'folk' look to her, than a pop starlet.

I watch him when he has someone interesting on, but it seems to generally involve him doing that high-pitch giggling the entire time while the guest talks. I don't really hate Fallon as he can be funny, but any kind of innovation he brings is show down by general annoyingness; it's like watching a 12 year old host his own late night show.

You kind of answered your own question there.

#1. wow Fallon looks way older now.
#2. the tambourine was too loud in the beginning.
#3. the whole thing sounded like a mini marching band, minus the brass section.
#4. she's cute.
#5. the original song is uber catchy.

2012-06-09 01:37:23 PM
Enjoyed it more than I thought I would

Haha, I just watched the original video, and that is adorable.

2012-06-09 02:09:13 PM
thats better than the original. i'd never heard it so i listened to the official one right after that. definitely better than the original

/over-produced pop is over-produced

I was prepared to flip it off as just another video of someone lip syncing to the song. Then the roots started playing.

/I lost it when the two guys in the back started singing.

2012-06-09 03:27:09 PM
I like the song. I like the singer (she's cute). Everyone in this video seemed like they were having a lot of fun, which makes it fun to watch. Even the back guys, and the actual singer.

Anyone listened to her whole album? Is it worth checking out?

I liked it! Jimmy Fallon does some good stuff - he's infinitely better than SNL, so there's that.

As for the song... I really want to hate it, but I just can't. It's too cute and catchy, and she does have a decent voice. (Yay Canada!)

I need Carley Rae & Relient K to do a duet.
It would be perfect

I didn't think the first one was remotely funny. Got 2-3 minutes in and kept waiting for...something. But I don't like the 'repeat the same joke 400 times and it's funny' comedy, or the 'SCREAM AT YOU THAT THIS IS THE FUNNY SILLY WIERD PART LAUGH NOW' types.

No. Fallon's only talents are doing a couple impressions and looking like a nice guy. He'd be a terrible stand-up comedian, the monologues are still awkward and hacky, and his interviews consist of "Hah, that's so cool, what you said was just so cool."
