Not so SOON.

Entertaining hockey. That's all I ask. My hopes of winning my pool were shot dead long ago.

While I'd like the Kings to take it all I actually hope that they lose tonight. They'd have a better time skating The Cup in front of their home crowd (not that I don't think the NJ fans wouldn't be polite & stick around to applaud them (more to boo Bettman actually...)).

/oh well, 8 hours to be productive so that I can sit down later & watch the game, that's doable....

That's my thinking, plus a win at home would be nice for the Devils' fans.

So glad the game is tonight, gorgeous out there today. Except for the supposed nuclear armageddon in my neck of the woods and all.

/I will my art collection to Silvara, my rock memorabilia to Rev.K and my jewelry to vegaswench.

But undefeated on the road for the entire playoffs would be more badass than that.

As a very casual fan, yeah... it would be more entertaining to me. Especially since they've never won it.

Kings haven't lost a road game yet in the playoffs.

Well, my prediction of a Kings sweep went up in smoke on Wednesday, but here's hoping that L.A. closes the deal tonight and keeps its perfect, amazing road record intact.

Needs to get to six games. Kings, I want you to win, but the Devils fans should see a win on home ice, and you should hoist the cup on home ice, and we should all get a little more hockey at least. Seven overtimes or something...

2012-06-09 07:31:15 PM

Vangor: the Devils fans should see a win on home ice,

You dont want to get jersey people thinking that they can have nice things, Its cruel and raises expectations roo high.

Just so we're clear. I've been busy, so I haven't quite finished updating. I'll need another two, maybe four days (HINT HINT), to finish updating my spreadsheet on the playoff badge, but... 21 Farkers were badge-eligible following Round 1, and 15 survived Round 2. I still need to verify their existence in Conference Final and Stanley Cup Final threads, but here are the 15 who might be badge-eligible:
4NSpy [TotalFark]
caira
craigzy
desertgeek [TotalFark]
HeathenHealer
IMDWalrus
netweavr
ontariolightning
paj
pregerstheHobo
RminusQ [TotalFark]
Silvara [TotalFark]
Smiths
vegaswench [TotalFark]
ytterbium [TotalFark]

I have made a slight note on some people who posted in threads long after the games ended, but no one's abused that privilege, and I'm not going to hold it against someone from Australia.

You make this seem so neanderthal having to stream games over an internet connection rather than watch on a television. Next you'll bemoan the lack of a dial and black-and-white picture on your televideodisplaybox.

I get the sentiment. But as a life long Kings fan with tickets to game 6, I want this done tonight. Just. Win.

I think it was a case of posting before broadcast ends if they're talking to players and coaches at the most extreme.

Back in the day, mods used to never green threads until the game started, so you basically HAD to post during the game and people would know if you had posted during the game or "post-broadcast" in the thread.

Now, with early greens it's hard to know what the "rules" are because if it greens at 2pm, you could post in it at 2:05 and miss the entire game.

does that count as "being there" for playoffs threads? That's what the badge says.

It get grey

I like a crisp picture bigger than that on a tiny laptop. Yes, I'm spoiled. I'm OK with that. :P

As someone with no horse in this race, I'm hoping the Devils win in a way just so I can have more playoff hockey.

But the Kings seem to be a better executing team.

Brodeur seems to have a great first move, but very slow recovering. His age showing, perhaps? Quick seems very, very good.

2012-06-09 07:44:24 PM
oh and if Australia posted in every thread, Australia gets it.

I had the one night of hockey where I did 2 dayquil, 3 excedrin migraine, and a claritan.

cleared that crap up enough for vodak abilities by the 2nd period.

@LAKings

We are 2-0 in the Final when the #NHLDevils play scary funeral music before the game starts. Let's see what happens tonight...

Have a really bad feeling about the game. But that's good, feeling confident means a pasting's coming 95% of the time, so.

Yeah, stupid life, getting in the way of sitting on the couch and letting my beard grow.

Anyway, I'll be here tonight. Feel like posting pics during the breaks, but it seems like I'm secondary to paj now...which I'm fine with, since he lets me not work so hard, and I can watch more of the game.
