(WRCB)   The Lord said to make a joyful noise. He just didn't mean doing it for five hours at a time every Sunday as loud as you possibly can. Plus, you probably shouldn't be "goofing off and cussing" when police show up   ( divider line

Waldo Pepper: Great another fark thread where the atheist get to show off how cool they are by make fun of Christians.

okay we get it, you don't believe.

Have a nice day, please get on with your life I seriously doubt your life has been made worse by Christians.

When I was 9, my mom gave birth to my baby sister.
She passed away at 7 months from SIDS.

My Mom was a very devout Christian at the time. Her first Sunday back at church after my sister had died a group of church ladies were saying how sorry they all were etc etc.
That is until one of the ladies mentioned that it was too bad my Mom hadn't prayed more because if she had God wouldn't have taken her daughter (my sister) from her. All of the other ladies nodded their heads and agreed wholeheartedly. See to them, and a good many other Christians, bad things only happen to bad people who don't believe and pray too God enough. Those bad people deserve everything that happens to them.

This is what Christianity has become in this country. An excuse to stand on their personal pulpits and condemn those they feel are less worthy. It's not about worshiping Christ. It's not following in the image of Christ. It's personal gratification and an excuse for bigotry.

I don't mean to paint the broad brush. I know there are 'Real Christians' out there who do follow the words of Christ. But they are the exception to the rule these days.

Waldo Pepper: I also understand arguing about it with those who don't feel the same is pretty much a waste of time. There is no 100% concrete scientific proof on the non creation/non divine intervention side and other than the Bible which is taken as false by non Christians nothing 100% on the creation side.

What makes you believe I'm an athiest? I follow the teachings of Jesus every day. Though to be fair I follow the homeless hippie philosopher google ("don't be evil") Jesus, not the flying zombie psychopath ("if you don't eat the living flesh from my body I will send you and everyone you have ever loved to a place of everlasting fire and torment") Jesus.

the ha ha guy: Waldo Pepper: where did I say I was denying basic human rights to anyone?

You did not say that you were doing it, you said that there's nothing wrong with it.

If you're going to have a debate, at least try to remember your own words.

Waldo Pepper: There could also be what is known as natural law and there could be arguments saying homosexuality goes against nature.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

This "natural law" does not exist, or else there would be no documented cases of homosexuality among animals, let alone well documented in 500 species and observed in 1500.

There's my proof, now where's yours?

This is the part where Christians say "well, since when do we take our moral cues from animals?!"
And around and around we go...

I'm so confused. What kind of person creates this story? I know several people who would actually spend five hours noisily praising God all afternoon, but none of them listen to Randy Travis and cuss.

Waldo Pepper: this isn't persecution this is simply annoying. how is it stupid, how does the average person believing in Christian a stupid decision?

1. Homo sapiens has been around almost 200,000 years. How does it make the slightest bit of sense for your god to wait 198,000 years to send a "Savior" - and then not send him to the entire world at once, but to one very small part of it from which the story would take many centuries to spread.
2, John 3:16 (honest version) "For God so loved the world that He sacrificed Himself to Himself to appease Himself and is now just beside Himself with the idea of torturing for all eternity anybody who does't believe this story."
3. No need for number three. The first two are sufficient.

SuperNinjaToad: MAYORBOB: I love the incredible arrogance of, "I was doing this on my property."

Yeah but the noise you were making didn't stay on your property, Tammy Faye.

....and yet double standards (giant loud speakers, 5 times azan daily) are not only applied but actually encouraged for fear of offending the minorities in the good ole USA.

The call to prayer last like 2-5 minutes.
Not a solid 5 hours of blaring music.
