Benevolent Misanthrope: So - Tacoma And Points South Carpool folks - someone email me! I'd like to join, and am willing to drive if you like...

No EIP that I could find. But I'm in Federal Way, and probably will like a break from studying, so I might take you up on this after all. You'll have to drive since I don't have a car tomorrow. E is in my P (ladies) for now; let's schedule a thing.

AverageAmericanGuy: Horizon: Ah man, I want to move to Seattle so bad. I live in KY and I hate it here. Anyone have any tips for when I finally get the money together and drive on it there?

Like art and crime? Seattle proper is a great place for you.

Like money and safety? Eastside all the way.

If you think Seattle is crime-ridden, please never go to LA or Chicago. You may faint.

/hate dirty poors? Try the Eastside!

AverageAmericanGuy: Bummer. Was hoping to meet fellow Sammamish Farkers.

You could always try to throw an Issaquah fark party at rogue brewery. Though I'm getting married in August, so that would be tough to make.

Their back room is nice for events like this, though Issaquah is a bit out of the way for non-area Farkers.

You are a man of good taste and grand ideas. Your fiancee is definitely lucking out.

This.

Also, I'm excited!

Benevolent Misanthrope: You should go to Pike Place Market (yeah, I know, tourists and all... go anyway), and if you like to cook the World Spice Market.

Worth clarifying: the spice place next to the brass pig and the fish market is Market Spice, and is mad gringo. World Spice is below the Market (like, towards the waterfront) and is awesome.

I have heard tell there is also a Penzey's now in that part of town.

my lip balm addiction: That'll go over like a screen door on a battleship. I would say hope you can fight, but Portland isn't Philly, Boston or New York.

I think we can handle a few dirty looks from some pansy-assed Timbers fans.

/Sounders 'til I die
//Portland sucks

my lip balm addiction: You could always try the brand new Chihuly glass museum thingy that just opened at the Center. I hear it is pretty cool if you like twisted glass.

I have a friend who worked for Chihuly for fourteen years before being laid off last year. Based on the stories I have heard (while she was still working there, mind you), I will be dipped in shiat before I ever intentionally give that jagoff so much as a dollar.

Why is it always the dicks who make it big, and the nice guys that always get the shaft? :(

A Chihuly glass exhibition in a park where concealed weapons are permitted. Did anyone at the City think this one through?

They did.

Exhibit A: Concealed Weapons can only be carried with a CPL (Concealed Pistol License) or a CCL (Concealed Carry License) - these require background checks, a written test (in some cases), and submitted firearms registration.

Exhibit B: Chihuly, according to a farker's comments, is a dick. I'm inclined to believe that, and therefore, I wouldn't care if a bullet shattered all of his works.

The "Chihuly" glass exhibit is in a glass enclosure. Walked past it last weekend to go to the Science Center with my daughter.

Anyone who knows how the whole "Chihuly" glass thing works, knows why the quotes are there.

hahaha, got tickets for a movie at redmond's iPic (54$ for two tickets jeez) so can't really blow that off

Can't make it tomorrow night, unfortunately. I'm a bad Farker and I feel bad.

In a park where *gasp* open carry is also not disallowed (weird that people consider rights to be something you "permit").

Not seeing the issue here. There are lots of expensive things in the world that can be damaged in lots of ways. E.g. picasso paintings getting spraypainted.

I miss gold class. It was so much better than iPic.

Are there any good Farkers going to this or just the ordinary ones? Cuz I could also just play Skyrim.

Also, I could care less if you could Fus Ro Dah the World Eater to death.

He bought a house in my hometown, Indianola (West Shore Puget Sound). There used to be a volleyball net in the previous owner's yard RIGHT on the beach, so we'd all get huge groups of people together and bbq, drink beers, play volleyball and generally chill out. The people we're hella cool about it. Then, HE moved to town. Ripped that shiz right out. Summer will never be the same. Kicker is, he's never there.

He takes lithium cuz he's crazy.

Now it's all about coming up with your own alchemical spells and nuking Alduin to death with a single drop of poison?

I'll be there! If Narwhal is open by then I shall challenge some Farkers to pinball. If not I'll just get drunk with ya'll.

I just found out one of my SO's friends will be in town and they want to meet up. I am trying to convince him that meeting at The Deluxe would be in their best interests as it will be full of Farkers, and these gentlemen love to argue. I have a feeling they'd get along with ya'll Farkers better than I could, but I also have a feeling that they're not going to go for that.

Might swing by and have me a Spicy Margaret.

Heads up: It's Pride weekend, so good luck finding parking or breathing room for that matter. Broadway goes apeshiat all week.

2012-06-22 06:07:42 PM
OK, y'all - where DO I find parking? Even paid? I'm not at all familiar with that area.

Benevolent Misanthrope: OK, y'all - where DO I find parking? Even paid? I'm not at all familiar with that area.

Just park at a Park & Ride and head into the area. The #49 can give you access to your destination from 4th and Pike, so just get on a mainline bus or light rail and head to downtown to board the 49.

Ummmm... no. That's a 20 minute bus ride, after the time on the train getting into town.

Anyone know where the nearest parking is to DeLuxe?

2012-06-22 06:59:08 PM
Benevolent Misanthrope, here is a parking lot right down the street.

It might be full, though... Pride weekend always packs Capitol Hill.

2012-06-22 08:04:41 PM
Okay, I'm headed down to the Hill now, stopping for one errand on the way. I'll post a parking report when I get there. The Fark Party will be in the billiards room in the back. Just go in straight in, go past the bar on your right, then take a right and go all the way down. Or ask someone there for the Fark party; they're expecting us. I'll be back there; I'm your basic forty-something with blonde hair and glasses. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Yay!

I'll check in on the thread when we make our last carpool pickup in Des Moines at about 6:45. Hopefully there will be a parking report by then.

Hmmmm... what does one wear to a Fark Party?

On the connector towards the hill now. Accidentally caught the earlier one, hope they don't penalize me for taking the wrong one (wrong reservation time) accidentally. This rain will be fun to walk in...

Benevolent Misanthrope: Hmmmm... what does one wear to a Fark Party?

I'm wearing my Sweatshop Worker t-shirt I got from working at //BUILD/

Don't think it's open yet (this would be the weekend to do it.), but if it is it will be a Bellevue fratboy "weekend getaway" shiatshow. :/

Getting gussied up, gonna be there fashionably late around 8!

Miss Stein here! We've got six people and counting so far at the Fark party. Tawnos, Surool, NKato, Dogboy360, seumasokelly and me!

Where are the rest of you?!

2012-06-22 10:15:51 PM
I'll be the dude in the black fedora and olive drab flight jacket (with my lovely and rather pregnant wife).

Enjoy da party Richter!!

Really wanted to go to this! How is it going? Post photos! Or send the Barbiecopter, I'm not driving yet, had tonsils out complication blah blah blah, it's a good excuse there are super gross details and everything!

Goddamnitsomuch.
