D_Evans45: Not much but Ill offer, I'll play designated driver for up to 2 people in the Valley. I'm coming out from Ontario and if you're stuck anywhere in between here and LA without a driver/ride, drop me a line. Pitch in a few bucks for gas. Bring an MP3 player/your phone if your music selection doesn't suck, and we'll flip coins for the playlist on the ride.

/We're the younger crowd

Classic rock: Anything before 1990? ;)

Yeah that's about right actually. How do you guys even list to that stuff?

/If your dad blasted that stuff constantly growing up, you'd have an aversion as well

Awesome... I'll add it to my list. There's also another nice German restaraunt way over on La Brea called Wirtshaus. The few people to whom I've mentioned it weren't really aware of anywhere good for German food in LA - which struck me as odd, because you can find pretty much anything in this city.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to go.

If Chuck E. Cheese's is open on Wilshire, why not there?

Saints N' Sinners in Culver City is pretty big... Not the "trendy" Hollywood crowd, and the Hellfire's are incredible.

The 14th is hard because a lot of people are going to be at Comic Con... I would think.

I'm coming from Ventura and am a DD if anyone needs it!

Tziva: I'm a maybe on Facebook, but I'll probably be going, too. Dragging the husband, though, if I do.

Yardhouse doesn't seem like a great choice to me. It's expensive and usually super crowded and very loud, and you can go to one anywhere. It seems hard to socialise or even identify who is with your group in that environment. I actually like the place (the food is good and they obviously have a massive beer selection), but it would be nice to not go to a mega-bar where there will be six zillion people.

I'd rather do the Redwood. Or, if not that bar, one that is similar in atmosphere.

I'm indifferent on location in LA. Downtown isn't bad on the weekends and just about anywhere is going to be about an hour drive for me regardless. South Bay would probably be the longest drive for me, but if we did something cool like a bar by the pier then hangout on the beach (likesay Hermosa Beach) it would probably be fun and worth it.

But that's just my selfish 2 cents.

South Bay is the farthest? I am trying to talk the better half into coming from Shasta County. In that part of California 2 hrs NORTH of Sac

Uh, I meant for me, from the options presented. Back when we were throwing around ideas.

I'm sure some people are coming from longest distances. I'm only like 30 miles out of LA.

Any DDs (or at least more sober than me) coming from Santa Monica/West LA?

This is why you just set the location and time and just say fexor it.

Of course this is coming from a guy that had three people show up at his last Fark party announcement.

It was still glorious BTW.

I really hope more then 3 people show up to this.

any further locale info, or just the address listed at first?

I at least will be there.

$6 for domestic and $9 per good beer is pretty steep. Ill have some West Coast IPA and some other real beer I can spare for $4 in an ice chest in my trunk.

/Hey, Ill buy a couple tap beers to support the venue

I have a plus one!

Mr. Lickalickalicka: Simi Valley is in Ventura County but borders LA County. Trust me, a FARK party would be huge as NOTHING goes on here. But seriously a dive bar on Sunset called Happy Endings should be big enough, they have an upstairs bar to. Not sure about parking.

Whoa, there are others.

So, I went to one in Vegas years ago... do I... just show up then? Should I wear a special FARK tag? ("Stupid", maybe "Sad"?)

Also significant about July 14

But seriously, once I'm done with Orange County Shakespeare I'd love to join in the fun tomorrow. :-D

umadbro: Any DDs (or at least more sober than me) coming from Santa Monica/West LA?

Although I'm a lightweight and don't drink too much, I'd rather not deal with the pain in the ass of driving in downtown LA and paying and arm and a leg for parking. I'd planned on parking at the metro station in Culver City and taking the train. I'd be willing to give anyone a ride to or from the station, of course.

Also if you know of any DDs coming, send me her measurements.

aerojockey: If anyone's in a mood for an after-Fark party, I recommend Norm's if one's nearby. Delightfully shiatty diner food and service.

There is indeed a Norm's in Santa Monica, on Lincoln. Quite close to the bars you mentioned.

But I vote for O'Brien's Irish Pub on Main St in Santa Monica!
