I'm sorry, but after so many episodes without Ygritte showing her boobs, I dont think I can deal with this show any more.

I'm watching season 1 again right now. I haven't seen season 2, yet.

They should require a bathing scene in every episode.

Yeah, but, going right to winter means we'd skip over Breaking Bad, so, let's have our summer.

I will never ever never get tired of seeing Joffery getting biatch slapped.

Haven't read the books but it sure looks that way. Everyone has done their absolute best to make the wrong choices in life setting up season 3 for what looks like full on clusterfu(k mode.

Someone only has 1 boob?

2012-06-07 11:31:25 AM
At the beginning of Season 2: Yay midgets and whores!!
At the end of Season 2: I want midgets and whores and zombies now!

Also if Joffrey doesn't die in spectacular fashion next season I will be disappointed.

/Hate that bastard

Oh and the article had it spot on. Samsa and Robs new wife are awful. Now I have to leave this thread cause I know some dickhead is going to jump in here with spoilers.

Storm of Swords is farking epic. Better than you'd expect. I suggest you pick it up to see everything theyll leave out, 20 episodes or not

The next two seasons should crank the crazy up to 11. Awesome stuff is coming (along with winter).

And yeah, not to beat an undead horse, but I highly recommend you all read the books. Theres a lot that gets cut out of the show, and you never know if some jackoff will completely ruin next season for you with 3 little words.

I would watch an entire show of nothing but that, interspersed with Theon getting suckerpunched. An entire series, even.

Psst... I know a place where you can find out everything that happens is Seasons 3 and 4, in the George R.R. Martin's own words. Totally legitimate, too; he's outright said he approves. All you need to do is to go the boo*is shot*

I can't believe some very stupid people are sending the actor death threats. He's absolutely nailed that character and is doing such a fantastic job at making me hate that character more than I did when reading the books. There's some serious talent there.

It's quite annoying not to be able to really discuss the show without some jackwad who read the books feeling a need to spoil the future of the show.

I'm 3/4s through book 1 and have watched both seasons. I'm glad I am watching the show before reading. The book help fill in a lot of gaps the show didn't have. It'd be more annoying to read then watch.

Though I understand Season 2 and book 2/3 don't really jive as well as Season 1/Book 1

2012-06-07 11:37:15 AM
The books are too wordy, the TV series is too concise. I wish there was a middle ground.

And more Tyrion. All of it needs more Tyrion.

don't get me wrong - boobs are great! but....I go back into itunes to the first episode of season one JUST to watch Tyrion biatch slap Joffery at winterfell. I find that scene just brightens my mood whenever I'm having a bad day.

If anyone is interested in actually reading the books, I would recommend reading the first 3, taking a serious break from the series, and then reading 4 and 5 together.

ALL of the actors in this series are incredible. I find that I utterly despise Joffery, and my hatred of Cerci grows with every scene. I'm gonna miss Syrio Forrell though. Because there is only ONE god and what do we say to him?

Jaime is one of the few characters in the series that actually grows a bit, and tries to get his soul back.

But the real god among the 7 kingdoms is....Tyrion the Imp.

Win!

I did buy season 1, by the way. Not so sure I'll repeat the effort for season 2. Not after HBO decided nobody outside of cable subscribers should enjoy their shows.

Also, I did see someone in another board post a few spoilers for the next book. One of my favorites will kick it, one of my least favorites will kick it. That's all I am saying.

Yeah Jaime is going to get much more relatable soon.

Alot of "villains" in the series seem like total pricks until you see things their way. Except Cersei. She's still a biatch.

I refuse to see Joffrey as anything other than a loathsome bug which should be squashed.

And if Tyrion doesn't get some respect, I'm gonna choke a biatch.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through. I HOPE they leave quite a few portions out for the show. There's just too much of people wandering about and getting nowhere. It's like the first half of the last Harry Potter book all over again. Arya's story arc is the biggest drag. You can only pull the "I'm on my way home....ooops, no I'm not" angle so many times before it gets boring. And I'm not really all that interested in what the person who gets to hold Harrenhall THIS week is up to, nor do I have much interest in Dondarrion's band of merry men. I wish there that been more focus on what Stannis' next move is going to be.

Lemme see. She goes gaga over the hammer with a black beard. Gets him and becomes queen. All her dreams come true. Then she finds he is interested in a corpse and ignores her for drink and whores. Then when they have a kid, that dies, he ignores her some more while she grieves.

I pity her for that. I hate her for the sh*t-king she punched out and the crazy she adopted. I don't care if she is doinking her brother. Dude's pretty good looking.

She was never gaga for Robert. It was a political marriage. She merely tolerated Robert until he whispered Ned's sister's name in bed.

Season 3 is going to be incredible. Can't wait for that one thing...or when that stuff happens to that one guy...

Seriously though, they've done an incredible job on the series so far. The only thing they've changed/left out that was in the books that I wish they hadn't was the whole sub-plot with Tyrion and the chain across the harbor. Tyrion's chain is the reason Stannis' forces were so utterly routed during the battle, and it makes Tywin's return all that more bitter for Tyrion. Kings Landing was not sacked because of Tyrion, the only Lannister in Kings Landing that gives a shiat about someone other than himself/herself, and yet he gets no real credit for it and is just as reviled by the people as the rest of the family.

Fortunately for us, George R.R. Martin is working with the folks making the show so that they can actually make the series extend past where the published books are, if necessary. I mean, yes, I want him to get books 6 & 7 out there, but if I have to settle for seasons 6 & 7 (or 8 & 9, 10 & 11, or whatever it ends up being) instead, I'll take it.

LegacyDL: Also is it bad that I kind of like Jaime Lannister now as a character?

Same here. I started the series as a Stark fanboy, but the more I watch it, the more I prefer the less virtuous characters like Jamie.

Stannis is a bit of a balance between the two. He's all about justice and fairness, but is also willing to do absolutely anything to win. Out of all of them, he'd make the best king- smart, capable, and ruthless when he needs to be.

Which I am so looking forward to. Some of my favorite parts of the books there. Too bad it's probably going to be another 5+ years before we get to see any of it on screen.

Stannis would be a terrible king: he has no ability to compromise, ever, and he doesn't understand or forgive anyone who makes a different decision from what he would have done himself. A priest can be like that, but not a ruler of seven kingdoms. They describe him as brittle, like iron, instead of tempered, like steel.

Not reading the thread so I don't get spoiled for book 5 (re reading the series in anticipation of getting to 5, have it on my shelf staring at me), but if (as they've said) Season 3 is going to be the first half of a Storm of Swords, it pretty much has to end with a wedding of a certain crimson hue, no?

And I imagine Season 4/second half of a Storm of Swords will also end with a wedding. TV fan's reactions to both are going to be very strong and polar opposites of each other.

I think you're right on season 3, but I will shiat myself if the second one is true. Plus SoS has an amazing ending that has so much fan service to it.
