Is he going to start working out in his front yard again?

Hey, those seats don't power wash themselves.

2012-06-05 12:58:12 PM
He may have the physical skills still (not sure on teh speed, but he is a legit red zone target..right?) but his attitude and his history..imagine if he kept his mouth shut and just came to work every day and played hard.. from the very first day.

Because I am sure the lack of interest was based on his choice of agent.

/Sad part is that he could have had a couple more years of a career if he had acted better.

2012-06-05 01:09:11 PM
But...but...that's his agent

On Jim Rome yesterday, some NFL writer made a comparison between Donald Driver and TO, based upon their age. they're both 37-38 years old.

if i get his argument right, he was making the point that Donald Driver has maximized a relatively limited talent set and played within a system, largely eschewed the spotlight (i know, DWTS), and for his efforts, he has a credible claim for Canton. and what's more, he's still going to play another couple of years.

TO meanwhile, has a phenomenal talent set, but due to his diva-ishness (divaishness....is that even a word?) and knucklehead tendencies, hasn't played in the NFL since what, 2010 and likely will never wear an NFL uniform EVER.

goes to show a million dollar body and a ten cent mind gets you a whole lot of nothing.

Good analysis. Except Driver is washed up, and TO might not be.

But yes, it's interesting to see how not being a douchebag makes a big difference in your career.

He's basically entered the Jose Canseco world of "total pariah amongst his peers and in financial peril", so there's no limit to what he can do keep his name in the papers.

Your popcorn, go grab it.

So if I understand what you are saying, and I am pretty sure that I do, there should be a cage match TO vs. Jose Canseco no-rules MMA bout.

Doubtful, Driver seems like he could be an Art Monk type of guy late in his career. A credible 3rd down reciever who either pulls coverage his way or makes a catch, gets the first down, then goes and chills on the sidelines.

TO would NEVER be a role playing reciever like that. 3-4 games of 1-2 catches and he'd start running his mouth until the team just got rid of him.

Cause that's what was keeping him out of the NFL. His agent.

1 year, whatever the collective bargaining agreement minimum is for you, if you so much as look like you farked up, even once, and you're gone within the hour.

That's his next contract.

Where does it say any of that? This article says that he wants the Wranglers to pay him for the 4 games he played that he wasn't paid for and to publicly apologize to him for saying that he chose not to go to the hospital event when allegedly the Wranglers had given him the wrong date and time.

Fantastic. So the NFC East turns into an even bigger shiat sandwich with the Giants in the middle.

The article linked in the headline says nothing about him getting rid of his agent....this one does though...

We already know the Eagles, 49ers, Bills, Cowboys and Bengals are sick of him. The other 27 teams see a guy in his late 30's who has torched every clubhouse he's ever been in who is now burning bridges in the arena league.

Save yourself the hassle and take the studio gig, TO. Your playing days are over whether you realize it or not.

I personally know TO's new agent so I'm getting a kick out of these replies.

/saw him yesterday
//he didn't mention TO
///he's also Donald Driver's agent

SkylineRecords: "Hell, we were the first guys to call Vick after he got out of jail! Compared to that, T.O. is a stand-up gentleman."

Different situation. Vick had off the field legal problems; TO can't shut his mouth.

Vick was more like plaxico burress...that is, a talented player, coming back from legal troubles. It wasn't an issue of whether he would ruin the chemistry of the team...just whether he could still play.

TO hasn't learned to shut his mouth. At his very best (a decade ago) he was barely worth having around....and he got booted from 3 different teams becuase of is attitude. At this point...it's just not worth it all.

2012-06-05 02:54:33 PM
LOL what a moron. If any agent could get him back with an NFL team, it would be Rosenhaus. Good luck T.O. Maybe you can get on twitter and whine about the commissioner like Canseco does.

Did TO ever sell that house of his in New Jersey?

Gosling: We already know the Eagles, 49ers, Bills, Cowboys and Bengals are sick of him.

around 2007 or so, a local sports guy made a chart of all the NFL teams TO had burned bridges with. while on paper he was only a member of the teams you noted, the guy's article pointed out how other teams had since acquired either QBs or coaching staff that in all likelihood would pass on TO due to personal knowledge of his issues. it was pretty remarkable.

it was like, "when in SF, his last 2 years the WR coach / OC was blah blah blah, who is not with the Vikings (or whomever), then when he was in Philly, the QB was so and so, who is nwo with ___, and the OC is now witht eh Steelers, then in Dallas, the OC was __ who is now a dolphin, and the WR coach is now the OC with Denver, and the.."

it was basically a list of 10-15 teams that had on paper, persons who in all likelihood wanted no part of his act.

Didn't say he was, just that he still has good hands and if he only needs to run ~10 yards and maybe make a single move he's golden. He's not going to be a deep threat, he's not going to make 10 catches a game. But I think he's the type that knows that, appreciates the pay check, and will fill the role the team needs.

Monk, likewise, would never biatch about not being thrown too, just did his job and it served him well long after many WRs would have retired. Will Driver break career recieving records? Nope.

But TO is never going to be that guy. Even if he ONLY had to play redzone plays and they went to him 100% of the time in the redzone he'd still biatch.

Actually, he didn't torch the Cowboys' clubhouse. He probably wasn't the perfect teammate, but he wasn't ill-behaved when he was in Dallas. At least, not that I can remember.

Now THIS I agree with 100%. Better than Emmit or Shaddabaddawump.

Firing your agent and signing a new one doesn't cut your costs.

And one thing to consider is that, in addition to having experience with guys nobody wants, Woy has a lot of experience helping guys make money outside the NFL.

I agree with you on Emmit. He was a great player and he's a sweet guy. But sometimes.... I'm just like, "Please stop talking, Emmit. Come on, man."

And I did mispronounce the first guy's name. My apologies.
