Jennifer Rubin's opinions and predictions are consistently off. And that raises a critical question: Why haven't all news media outlets fired Jennifer Rubin?

2012-06-05 09:30:14 AM
Yeah, bullshiat to that.

"Republican Policies" consist of: "fark the poor", "No billionaire left behind", and "A government so small it can fit in your uterus"...

Thanks, but no thanks.

2012-06-05 09:45:51 AM
Obama implemented the GOP's health care reform plan, and look where THAT got him.

Came here to say this, basically.

2012-06-05 10:18:39 AM
Obama resigned the Bush tax cuts, and look where that got him.

2012-06-05 10:20:16 AM
Umm.... That's what he's been doing. That is if you want to believe that "Republican" means what it did when St. Reagan was in office.

Aarontology: Obama resigned the Bush tax cuts, and look where that got him us.

A slowed recovery and the possibility we may be ruled by a robot.

he already has. if he were a white republican named jack smith, he'd be lionized as the second reagan.

Nice of Rubin to take time off promoting Romney to berate the Obama campaign for not being more like Romney.

Clearly the answer is more tax cuts.

Obama continued Bush's torture policies, and look where that got him.

In fairness, all she does is reword RNC press releases.

Obama's been killing and eating puppies for 50 years. Look where that got him.

2012-06-05 11:44:16 AM
That worked great with healthcare reform, right?

2012-06-05 11:44:30 AM
I think trying to push more liberal policies would rally the base more, Especially when they watch as the GOP fights against them.

If Obama looses, it will most likely be becuase of an unmotivated and disenfranchised base who either does not care if he wins, or just assumes his re-election is guaranteed.

2012-06-05 11:44:54 AM
Obama's been farting bongos for over 3 centuries, and look where that got him

Not to mention extending the Bush tax cuts, having a stimulus package that was 1/3 tax cuts, and keeping most of the "War on Terror" provisions.

He's the best Republican President they've had in a long time.

"off" is a polite way of saying "completely confined to a fantasy world."

2012-06-05 11:51:07 AM
Remember two weeks ago when Jennifer Rubin, Campbell Brown, and the rest were very concerned about how condescending Obama is to women? That didn't catch on.

So now they're very concerned that Obama can't win unless he gets more Republican. This is the new trial bubble.

Why is Axelrod still there?

Over and over again, polls have shown that liberal and even democratic socialist policies are widely popular; it's only when you name them such (or, in particular, name them Democratic policies) that their popularity wanes. If the Dems strongly advanced single payer health care, a highly progressive tax plan, military drawdown, stronger labor regulations and a large-scale public work program they'd end the current economic doldrums and social unrest, eliminate the deficit and make 45 states solid blue until the sun burnt out. Enacting yet more right-wing policies is the complete and exact opposite of what they should do, either for the party or the country.

Bill Kristol is not always wrong. He's a rabid neoconservative dick, but he's not always wrong.

Now here he was wrong.

Oh, and merciless banking regulations, obviously.

he's the gold standard of wrongness. he manages to be fractally incorrect more often than i'd think naturally possible.

Obama re-signed the PATRIOT Act, and look where that got us.

Seriously, Obama embracing Republican ideas pushes the Republicans further right. "Obama's fer it? Well, I'm agin it, even if I was fer it!"

Biggest GOP/Teabagger fallacy is the idea that Obama is somehow a 'super socialist communist liberal'.

He's Center. Hell, he's practically RIGHT of Center at this point. He's David Cameron's Brother From Another Mother.

GOP/Teabagger policies are not 'conservative' any longer. They are somewhere between pants-on-head retarded, and bullshiat-based-on-discredited-theories.

They're far-right reactionaries. There is actually a term for these people.

He could reasonably be considered to the right of Reagan.

gay marriage one day, the "war on women" the next

Correct me if I'm wrong, Jenny, but wasn't it the Fat Bloviator who fired the first salvo in this year's Republican War on Women by calling a Congressional witness a 'slut' and asking her to post sex videos online? Isn't the GOP the party that pushes for duplicative "One Man, One Woman" marriage laws (you know, like the Bible said to)?

Aren't both of these topics usually lumped together as "social issues", which the GOP alternately pledges to avoid and humps like a puppy on MDMA? Hasn't the GOP essentially committed itself at this point to fighting the Culture Wars even as the rest of the country simply moves on?

Dr Dreidel: wasn't it the Fat Bloviator who fired the first salvo in this year's Republican War on Women by calling a Congressional witness a 'slut' and asking her to post sex videos online?

I think "rape re-definition" and "look at this fetus you're about to DESTROY you DIRTY WHORE" came before that, but I concur that Bloviatus Rex took it national.

Same reason Limbaugh can't fire Trucker # 42 who calls every day between hours 2 and 3 of his program to complain about the mexiterrestrials coming to steal his brothers livestock and ship them back to their home planet where they come up with schemes to fire brown people into our country from space and convert us to Islam.

You can't fire someone you don't pay.

5 Years Ago she might have made lists of "influential jews" (not racist if it's true), but today she operates in un-syndicated blogs and the 'twittersphere'.

Lil' Miss "The Norway Shootings were done by Islamic Extremists and the OWS crowd is full of anti-semites" is quickly spending every last cent of intellectual capital she has left on carrying water for the most reprehensible wrong-side-of-history movements we have today.

But people read it anyway, so WaPo will run it anyway. As a Blog. On their blog page. Where they identify her not as a Columnist, but a Blogger.

Maybe they pay her? It's gotta be pennies.

2012-06-05 12:25:59 PM
Maybe she meant to say he should implement even more Republican policies?

Axelrod is still there because he ran a winning campaign in 2008, and most politicians are loyal to their staffers, sometimes to a fault. How long has this writer been in Washington, a week?

I'm still waiting for Obama to endorse Romney in the upcoming election. I'm pretty sure that would throw things all higgledy-piggledy.

To win reelection, you should implement more Republican policies

What Republican policy has he not already caved in to implemented?

Um, let's see, like....

GOP's Health Care Reform
Bush tax cuts extensions
More domestic surveillance stuff?

Mind-boggling incompetence in foreign policy?

Yes, when I'm looking for alternatives to the Republican party, what I want in a candidate, whether he be a Democrat or a Green Party member, is a person who offers plenty of Republican positions on various issues. Because isn't that what having alternatives and choices is really all about?

2012-06-05 03:57:16 PM
