The Walking Dead is anything but. The AMC drama is to zombie entertainment what Krispy Kreme is to fried dough: an instant sensation.

But give it more than 5 minutes and it instantly goes stale.

I liked the Walking Dead, but my god they really stretched out a lot of crap. I will admit I'm kinda excited about the new season with Michonne and the prison reveal, but it's been a downhill slope since the CDC episodes.

The budget cut made this a show into drama with the occasional zombie. I don't even know why they'd bother nominating Walking Dead against Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and Homeland.

Aside from the antics of Carl and Lori driving viewers crazy, it's just fine. In fact, in many respects it is much, much better than the graphic novels.

At least we don't have to see Rick take long walks in fields with Shane, followed by long silences, then one of them looks at the other and says, "Lemme ask yoo sumthin'..."

And The Borgias. At least Showtime allows them to spend money.

Just not on writers, apparently.

/Haven't seen The Borgias, just basing this on other Showtime programming I've watched.

I haven't watched that one yet but I've heard good things. I'm going to watch both seasons after the finale.

Walking Dead has some spectacular highs and lows. The opening hospital staircase scene has to be one of my favourite bits of tv in the past five years, but wow did they drag the story by the time it reached the farm.

I have a hard time getting past how terrible all of the women characters are. I hope Michonne redeems that a bit. I just picked up the graphic novel, and I'm unsurprised to see Lori sucks just as hard as she does in the tv show.

I just got into this show, and I really enjoy it. Half-way through season 2 as we speak. I gotta know... do we ever find out what the doctor whispered to Carl? (If you don't want to put the spoiler up here, I wouldn't mind an e-mail).

Darabont has coasted on SHAWSHANK for far too long -- I am beginning to think that movie was a fluke (and almost 20 years old now!). GREEN MILE is essentially a SHAWSHANK remix and what's he done since? Not much except treat one of the most thrilling horror stories ever (THE MIST) into a filmed stage play with that same boring cast of actors he totes around with him.

Just use Dale's shotgun with the infinite-ammo cheat code on. Problem solved.

Dumbest comment today, made by someone who has CLEARLY not read the comics.

The show is so far, an abortion of the comics. It's a decent show, but not even in spitting range of best drama. Shouldn't even have been nominated. Shane dying was supposed to be Season 1, and he was supposed to get shot by Carl.

Dale is not supposed to be dead, and is a major character for a while in the comics. Daryl does not exist, I'm guessing he is Tyrese which will make me very sad.

The show took amazing source material, and made a decent adaptation. But ultimately it doesn't even hold water to the comics, as anyone who has read them will know.

Breaking Bad is the greatest television show of all time. Season 3 of The Walking Dead will be exactly the same as season 2, with a prison standing in for the farm.

I love the walking dead. Laurie is as annoying as she is in the comics. Carl is friggen annoying however

I just downloaded the video game from Xbox live. Its better than the series.

While I agree that they haven't done a good job with the show, I don't see a problem with veering from the source material. Otherwise the entire story would be a foregone conclusion. Plus Dale had to go, as he was basically done with the show after Darabont's departure (did not want a contract renewal) so they had to kill him off.
