I haven't willingly eaten Taco Bell in years. Way too many good Mexican options in the area. My wife has the occasional craving but I'm pretty good at talking her out of it.

Taco Bell is ass. It just goes to show that most of America is obese and/or stoned.

Anyway, Toledo is a big testing market for products like this, so I tried Doritos Locos Tacos a long time ago. I don't see what all the fuss is about. They don't taste that different, and you end up with orange fingers.

This. It was just as tasty as the rest of their stuff, but they managed to make it even more messy. This is why stoners don't usually get to make decisions.

Taco Bell isn't meant to compete with sit-down restaurants. Let me know when there's a better taco joint with a drive through that can have me out of there with food in hand in 2 minutes. Especially if they have a drink that mixes better with rum than the limeade sparkler. Oh dear god do I love my rum and limeade.

I can eat Taco Bell tacos and the results are mixed depending on how hygienic the Taco Bell in question is.

And I like Doritos.

But even the IDEA of taco shell made out of Dorito material and flavoring is enough to make me wretch. I would not eat one for free.

I don't care for them. They somehow made the Doritos shell even thinner then the regular crunchy taco shells. They crack apart if you look at them too closely.

This. I love me some Doritos and had some hopes for this product, but there was little Dorito flavor in them. I was more annoyed by their packaging. After unwrapping the normal paper, there was a cardboard holder in the shape of a taco letting me know I'm about to experience awesomeness; it was anything but.

/It would have been a better if they just gave me a normal taco and a bag of Doritos.

I was sick last week. I had bad case of the runs. I figured what the hell, it's not like Taco Bell is going to make this any worse. So I ran down to my local Bell and loaded up on all the crap I love but normally avoid due it's ability to void my bowels. The explosive dump I took about 20 minutes before mowing down a grilled stuffed burrito, a couple of double decker tacos, a mexican pizza, an enchirito and a beef meximelt or three was the last bout of diarrhea I had. Mass quantities of Taco Bell actually cured my ills.

The Dorito taco is too thin of a shell. It falls apart if you look at it sideways. Too small as well. 1/2 cheesy potato burrito is the way to go. Hell, cram doritos in it if you love em that much.

I had Taco Bell the other day for the first time in years. I think the quality has gone down. Especially the tacos. The cheese was like plastic, the "beef" was greasier and more gelatinous than I remember.

This last batch I didn't even make it to the bathroom.

I tried it out of curiosity. I'm ambivalent about Taco Bell tacos. They aren't good but they aren't really bad either. They are just kind of their. I do love me some original Doritos, though. A mediocre taco with the awesomeness of Doritos seemed like an OK idea.

Except the shell didn't really taste like Doritos that much. And as poot_rootbeer said, the shell was thin and brittle. I think it actually ended up being worse than a regular Taco Bell taco.

Yeah, sorry TB isn't Hector Gonzzzzales who servers up his magical burritos out of a cart right next to where you work on Wall St, which are the best in the world, and you've been eating them since before it was cool to go there.

Taco Bell is cheap(er?) and fast mexican-style food. It won't have the same quality as the upscale Mexican resturant that sells plantains with poached quail eggs. But what did you expect? For fast tacos at 2am, TB is pretty damn good. And the Doritos tacos are quite tasty.

Wife and i agreed they were worse than the normal ones. They taste the exact same, only the Dorito ones are harder to eat because they break apart easier. The one I got even came with a cardboard insert to try and hold it together. That was the first bad omen. They're just nothing special, as everyone else said.

I really like doritos so I tried it..........a couple of times. It's not enough to get me to eat their dog food meat long term but they were cool to try. The taste was good but the shell gets soggy really fast.

It was always pretty crappy. You just have better taste now. There are things that I cook that I scarfed down in my early 20s, but now even though I cook them the same way, I think they suck.

Yep, White Castle is #1 by far with me in causing demonic shiats. But I still hate taco bell because the food is not much better than school cafeteria quality.

First, Taco Bell is Mexican food like Spaghetti-O's are Italian food.

And second, no it is not suddenly popular to hate chain restaurants. It has been popular for some time now. Institutional food is cheap, yes. But it is all (fast food in particular) homogenized, uninspiring crap. Just because you are out-of-touch with modern societal views does not make those of us who are not somehow snobbish "hipsters".
