last I heard of the Diceman, he was booked at the Comedy Connection in Boston for a New Year's Eve Show in 2006, where he had the nerve to charge $100 per ticket. I wonder how many comps they had to give out to fill the house.

/once got comps to see Robert Wuhl when walking through Quincy Market
//was a great show for a freebie
///Born to Run bit is my favorite

A stand-up comedian and actor whose only real blip of relevance in the last 20 years was guesting on a popular podcast (where I have to imagine thousands of others joined me in learning who the hell he was fort he first time)....

Woah. I think I just had my first "get off my lawn" moment.

I...I need to sit down for a minute, guys.

Dice Man was in Casual Sex (which I learned of from a suggestion of another Farker -- you get to see Leah Thompson and Victoria Jackson's bare backsides in it) and he played his role perfectly, and by the end of the movie... i was shocked at how well he did.

Andrew Dice Clay said bad things about women and smoked cigarettes on stage. His dirty nursery rhymes were enough to make me laugh when I was 14.
2 of these guys would have been better off doing this movie 20 years ago. The other one, Louis CK, I have a hard time really getting into him, since everyone and their mother is busy trying to shove him down our throats. No one is as funny as they say he is.
/thanks for ruining him, assholes.

for writing about a Woody Allen vehicle the author didn't have much to share outside of name dropping. Louis CK is highly over rated IMHO but several comedians are these days. modern short attention spans and lower IQ's make it easier for crap entertainment to get good ratings.

The Dice Man was phenomenal in his day. Set records in a lot of venues, major packed houses in his prime. 'Ford Fairlane' was a lot of fun too. dammitt i wish there was more word on what this project is. i realize Woody is old school but his catalog speaks for itself, he's one of the best of our time - if you appreciate depth and intelligence in humor and story telling.

Ford Fairlane was pretty funny, but we all know that this was his best work.

*Record scratch* The Diceman? Huh?

FTFA: The two share a vulnerable since of humor

The comedy community greatly disagrees with your assesment of Louis C.K. for years he was underrated; his ability to show comedy through facial expressions and silence alone is a skill very few possess. Although I'm certain he'll be extremely disappointed random farker #343 finds him to be overrated when his fellow-comedians recognize him as pretty damn good.

Louis C.K., I dig. The Diceman, not so much. Though I did see Andrew Dice Clay in a routine where he wasn't playing his obnoxious greaser-shiathead character, and it was actually pretty decent.

THIS. It's a very funny movie, and he is very funny in it. Dice's stand-up act was hilarious in the mid-80s; the problem was it got old and he wan't able to replace it with anything. If you can find his appearance on Dangerfield's HBO show "Nothin Goes Right," you will have a real gem - that episode features Dice, Bill Hicks, Lenny Clark, Dom Irera, Robert Schiller, Carole Leifer.

Just when I thought Louis CK couldn't be unfunny, he teams up with the least funny comedy director of all time.

Dice will likely slow production by holding out for more money.

"Ford Fairlane" was a good movie, but "Brain Smasher... A Love Story" was his finest work.

/Teri Hatcher was hot in it as well.

He's popped up on several podcasts lately (carolla, marc maron had a fascinating one with him 1-2 months ago), he's really entertaining.

he told a story about he and Jay Mohr (whom I love) having some kind of beef back in the day where by ADC's version, Mohr called the cops. it was funny if true.

i loved the day the laughter died. I used to listen to that shiat ALL the time.

I'm a huge fan of Louis C.K. but Andrew Dice Clay is unbearable. I think I dislike him more than Carrottop and Carlos Mencia combined.

Saw the Dice Man here at comedy club before he made it big.

20 in the audience and 18 after I and my date walked out after about 15 minutes.
Filthy for the sake of being filthy isn't funny, son.

'Ford Fairlane' was much better than I expected. Go figure.

Honestly, I thought Dice did a great job acting as the mob boss' go-between for Ray Luca on "Crime Story"

No, Nora Dunn was the one who boycotted Dice's appearance on SNL in 1990, and was let go at the end of the season. Jackson lasted until 1992.
