Connery was the best of course, and Lazenby wasn't even close to being as bad as Moore or Dalton. There,I said it.

Yeah, but I miss the campy Bond days: "I thought Christmas only comes once a year."

Except for the one-hit wonders (Lazenby and Dalton), it seems each new Bond starts off with a great movie and then it gradually deteriorates into unwatchable nonsense. Craig did it in only two films.

There always seems to be this need to cram more insane spy gadgets and more crazy action sequences into subsequent Bond films. They seem to try and one-up the previous one.

That's why the Casino Royale reboot was so effective. They turned back the dial. Fewer insane gadgets, fewer explosion-fest action sequences, more intrigue, a little more focus on character.

It's a shame they turned the dial back up for Quantum of Solace.

While that era had its moments-"No,Mr. Bond,I expect you to diiiie!"-Moore's farcical stint almost ruined it. The grittier,no-nonsense Bond embodied by Craig is preferable.

Well. Sorry you feel that way. I thought it was a refreshing change of pace after watching Brosnan save the world by blowing up the world. I felt that it was tightly scripted, edited and directed.

Also, Eva Green has exceptionally nice yabbos.

Craig's Casino Royale was possibly the best Bond movie ever.

I'm old enough that I read the books before the movies even existed. I saw From Russia With Love, Dr. No, and Thunderball in the theater with my Dad.

You want to go?

Yes.

The ballsack torture in the Craig version was unbearable

I prefer the guy in GoldenEye, since that's the only one I have any familiarity with whatsoever. And only in video game form. Also the only reason I have any idea what the plot of The Godfather is.

That scene was bullshiat. His sack would have split open like a bag of chips from the first hit. Unless my ballbag is more delicate than others, it's the only one I have any knowledge of.

I liked the Brosnan Bonds, except the last one. Craig's Bond tries too much to be like Jason Bourne.

Lazenby superficially looked the part but was so awkward and unconvincing as to render himself a complete joke. He's the Mitt Romney of James Bonds.

My most rabid Bond-fan friend insists that Lazenby was the best screen Bond.

He's an otherwise very intelligent and nice guy, so I let it slide.

For me, its a toss up between Connery and Craig.

1 thing presidential candidates won't say:

United States' prohibition of natural substances that grow right out of Mother Earth -- praise God -- directly contributes to drug cartel violence; there is one thing drug cartels fear: legalization.

Compared to Roger Moore, George Lazenby was Sean Connery.

What's really frustrating about OHMSS is that it would have been awesome with Connery in it. After seeing him being a cad for several movies, can you imagine what it would have been like to see him fall in love and get married? Or watching Connery and Telly Savalas beat the crap out of each other? It would have probably been the best in the series, by a mile.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is an underrated, if uneven, film. It has some very good points: the opening credits is one of the best, the winter village scene where Bond almost gives up very well done, and the final assault on Blofeld's headquarters is closer in style to the Brosnan era films than to 60s ones.

On the downside, some of the acting isn't the best and the genealogist subplot is one of the silliest things in any Bond film.

Indeed he was. The problem is that no one reads the goddamned books.

Okay....

Hmmm, "I'll boost stocks -- of my contributors' companies."

I bet if I check the Open Secrets website, you're taking money from both sides in a lot of corporate competitions. Should I invest in the one that's giving you more money? Or is this confirmation bias?

Roger Moore was the best bond for two reasons

The opening chase/ ski jump scene of TSWLM had never been done before, was a decade before the tech in chutes existed. The stuntman had to have brass ones in John Glen teritory.

Carole Bouquet was easily the sexiest bond girl
