BurnShrike: I allow for the possibility, but until I see any evidence they're in the same realm as fairies, elves and god.

It depresses me that none of these likely exist. The world would be more interesting if at least some of them did...

Come on, man. People who don't even allow for the possibility of there being ghosts are the same kind of people who don't like hair bands. You know.... people with no sense of humor.

Considering the Holy Spirit is supposed to be there, I'd say all of them

The Muthaship: Godscrack: I'd love to buy an old church to live and work in.

I want an abandoned insane asylum.

No really. And not for the juvenile 'creepy ghosts' aspect. I just love the old architecture and design of many of the buildings.

None, as ghosts only exist in the imagination of the weak minded.

Is there much of a difference?

gulogulo: Not a cop out. That's why while many scientists are 99.9% sure there's not a god..they'll never say 100% for sure.

Think about Q from Star Trek TNG. There might be entities out there with powers that make them indistinguishable from God, but we know the worshiping doesn't get you anywhere. And observation plus evidence gets better results than faith in anything.

/Q really exemplified "Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic"
//and "What does God need with a starship?"

Anti-intellectualism at its finest. Let's all mock the educated and logical-thinking among us. Surely that'll lead to a better world.

If you were really intellectually and scientifically minded, you would understand that as it cannot be directly disproven, there will always be the possibility of its existence. Science rarely talks in absolutes.

Nice copout, but garbage otherwise. There's a huge difference between "I don't know what dark matter is made out of" on the one hand and "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that when grandpa said there is a magic invisible dragon in our livingroom he was full of shiat."

Ghosts fall in to the latter. Nice fairytale and all, but ultimately some grandpa's BS from a few thousand years ago when our greatest scientific achievement was a pointy stick.

Mr. Potatoass: Bartonville, IL. State Mental Hospital was turned into an industrial park.
Some of the old buildings are still available, I believe.
