The boy's not *that* young. If he can't wrestle the shoe away from a woman, he doesn't deserve it. When did American males become so soft and feeble?

Optimus Primate: Ok, I admit to feeling rather peckish today, so I sent the following email to North American Hydro:

Hi folks,
Just thought someone should be aware about a bit of negative publicity regarding Chuck's Packer-fan wife...*(link below)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2154292/How-desperate-Grown-w o man-rips-football-stars-cleat-young-fans-hands-charity-game.html

The story is not only trending nationwide domestically, but over in Britain (obviously). On his wife's Facebook page she mentions her place of employment specifically as NAH.

Just FYI so someone can tell her to take down her facebook page ASAP!
Thx,

I sent it to the main "contact us" email as well as the sales department email. Both addresses normally go to multiple persons. And everyone knows how Sales departments are. I kept the text spam-filter friendly to make sure it got through...

If I worked at a company and the bosses wife did this...I'd want to know for sure...

Hehe

Typical responses of warped societies. As soon as someone shows some ambition and drive and puts forth effort to achieve their goals they get shiat upon by a brainless mob of pc Pavlovian dogs that just heard the Marxist bell ring and are now eagerly awaiting a treat from their masters. Go grab a few more Ayn Rand books to sit on so that you can at least see over the steering wheel.

We just had to have a bunch of furniture moved temporarily in the office and we specifically asked that a couple of massive desks be left 8" from the wall so we could complete the cabling. The desks were 4" from the wall.

Read up a little on the first situation. They caught a foul ball at their first baseball game (on their honeymoon). The little kid cried. They offered to give it to him, but the kid's parents refused to teach the kid a lesson. Idiot Rangers' sportscasters made a big deal out of it. Villains were born.

Check out the link above from "this text is purple now". And, remember, that is the story from his side.

His response the next day in the mailbag reaks of defensiveness. Anytime you read his flip flopping, non-informational gibberish, remember he is probably the first or second (behind Simmons) most read sports writer in the US. We are doomed.

I know fans fight over things that get hit/or thrown onto the bleachers, but snatching it from a kid is just pitiful. Well, it's not so much because he's a kid (I dislike kids), he's just a smaller and weaker person compare to Robyn McDouchy there. I just hate bullies.

Ah well, I'd love to see her go to a Raiders game and snatch something from those fans...

Wonder how her work day is going? How does it feel to wake up Monday morning feeling pretty good about your life and the way things are going, only to find out well before lunch that you are an Internet pariah known around the world as someone who would fight a child over a smelly shoe and feel good about it?

What's her Fark handle?

2012-06-04 12:49:06 PM
Why isn't the kid's dad helping? He just stares.

MycroftHolmes: This is such a non-story. The cleat was tossed between two fans, they both fought for it, one person won. Based on the photos, it does not look like it was thrown specifically to one person, to be intercepted by another

You might have a point if both parties were adult. Fighting a kid is disgraceful.

That's the first time I've heard that part...

I remember now that it did seem to be less of a douchbag move though after the whole story came out. I remembered it as being that they just never noticed the crying kid, rather than making an offer and the parents refusing.

Remember... if you're at a sports event and something is thrown or hit into the stands, if there is a child within three square miles that object automatically belongs to the child and people on the internet will call for your head if you don't immediately surrender the object to that child.

Then, they'll whine about what entitled snowflakes kids today are in some other thread.

Because it's a stretch. They offered to give it to him AFTER people pointed out that they were being assholes. At that point there was no gracious way to accept their offer, so the parents declined by saying they were teaching a life lesson. The rich sugar-daddy and his plastic-tits wife are still douchebags.

Especially when you read comments made by the tosser that explicitly state he was tossing the item to the kid.

2012-06-04 01:06:40 PM
I will say that the very few times I tossed something into the stands - I would yell out "This is for the kid in the" red shirt/some sort of description. Often an adult would catch and then hand the item to the kid.

And it started a trend. I saw a game the other day where some guy hit a foul ball and a kid who was never within three rows of it started crying. Some schmuck from Fox was sent down there with a microphone and gave him a ball. So the lesson here, kids, is go ahead and scream your head off.
