Agreed. I didn't know it either. Used to be when I watched it I thought he was just a cheesy self-absorbed crooner with a plastic smile. Now when I watch it I see a bit of "this is ridiculous; look at what I gotta put up with" in his smile. Maybe that's just a bias introduced into my perception... hey maybe I should work that into a psych lecture.

Considering the iron grip that the Politburo had on pretty much everything in the USSR, this was about as much of a fark You he could give them without it earning him a one-way ticket to Siberia. You don't like the Pro-Western imagery in this?
