Lots of street fairs, boot sales, and suchlike all summer.

Be very happy you're going now. I was sent over in January. Moscow to Tver via train.

there's this great bar, I think it's called "dak" just tell the cab driver to take you to "bardak" or you can try a really good deli called bor-del. Just ask the cab dirver to take you there.

I guess you could visit the Kibby Dome. Nothing to really see there honestly. I'd go up to Coeur d'Alene myself.

I don't know of anything specific to go visit, but if you see a bunch of people standing in line, I recommend you join them.

Beat me by a minute, but it's "Kibbie". I was going to say that the Palouse is particularly lovely right now, and the town is even quieter now that the U of I is out.

/It's a nice place to live, but you wouldn't want to visit here....

I'm pretty sure they don't list whore houses, which I would assume is what subby is actually looking for.

I just got back. A few pointers:

There are several airports. Make sure your driver knows where to take you (when you leave).

If it takes 20 minutes to drive from the airport, it could take two hours to drive to the airport. Traffic is insane.

Taxis are cheap. I just paid a dude to drive me around.

Was there 20 years ago, place names escape me now. One you wouldn't expect is the subway. First, the escalator ride is an E ticket in and of itself, they go much faster than the ones here in the states. Second, each station is a work of art. Not kidding, they put a lot of work into their subway stations.

Learn to read basic Russian. I was there 3 weeks (well, minus 4 days travel time), About a week and a half in I saw a bus with Cryllic writing on the side, and I could sound it out to see it said "tourist". That comes in real handy when you can also phonetic out 'toilet'.

Kibbie Dome, but otherwise, yes! Get up on top of the roof and sling potatoes off at passersby. Make loud mocking noises about people from Nampa. Make a party of it.

I can tell you what not to do since I was only in Moscow for a day before I was banned from the country. Do not yell "We Won!!!" at the top of your lungs at 3am in the morning while in a drunken stupor.. in Red Square.
