Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett was about the funniest thing I've ever seen, it would be like someone casting Paul Reubens as Conan the barbarian.

DamnYankees: Keizer_Ghidorah: I dunno, the idea of making the movie about a character the original story spend hardly any words on is weird.

Wait - there's a hunstman in the original snow white? Seriously, I don't remember that at all. I assumed this movie made it up.

The Queen hired him to take Snow White into the woods and kill her, then bring back her heart as proof (and dinner, the Queen eats the heart he gives her). And in the original he tries to rape her too before he has a change of heart and lets her go. He got a deer's heart instead to take back to the Queen. The Disney version left out the attempted rape but the rest of the scene was similar.

Saw it yesterday. Meh, it was alright for the afternoon price and considering we had nothing else to do yesterday. The visuals were fantastic but it had serious pacing problems. I feel like an hour and 45 minutes would have made it much better than the 2+ hours it was.

What would have made it 10x better is if Kristen Stewart played every role, like Eddy Murphy in the Klumps. She should have played not only Snow White, but also Queen Ravenna, the Huntsman, Ravenna's brother, William, the mirror, and all the dwarfs.

Snapper Carr: JosephFinn: Look, Kristen Stewart is pretty good when she has actual good material to work with. Check her out in Adventureland or Into The Wild.

She was surprisingly good in Adventureland.. She was fantastic in the Runaways.

My theory is that she gets lazy when doing a big budget thing where effects are expected to carry it and I can sort of understand that - why do the work if you're just going to be overshadowed by CGI or when you have a built in audience for the thing who will see it regardless of how bad it is.

She was actually pretty good in Zathura and that was full of special effects. Pity a lot of people don't remember that movie since it bombed and was overshadowed by Iron Man. It was actually pretty good.

I wouldn't really go that far. I think her performance had more to do with her being a better fit for that character. Otherwise it was pretty much the same acting she does in Twilight.

/went into Adventureland thinking it had Michael Cera.

The latter. Ian McShane,Bob Hoskins and Toby Jones aren't dwarfism sufferers the last time I checked.

Charlize and Michael Fassbender aren't midgets, so it must be the LOTR thing.

Best thing I heard coming out of the theater was "That mirror must be stupid if it picked Kristen Stewart over Theron." I thought it was alright, but not worth going to the movies for.

It was ok. Trailer made me want something more, but it was fun, watching THOR and Snow White.
I also saw a trailer for The Hawkeye Legacy.
I love all these Avengers movies. Though why Black Widow bought a Zoo with Matt Damen is beyond me. Not enough car crashes.
BTW, It's just a farking movie. If you complain then maybe you didn't have the $10 to spend and should do something else with it. Just sayin.

Weaver95: El Freak: If you're not in a position to benefit financially, why would you possibly care which movie is #1 or how much money a movie makes?

Because in our god fearing, chrstian society we determine success by how much money you spend, how much you make and how much money you've got in the bank.

Or, god forbid, mass appeal may be helpful in your decision of whether or not to to gamble $8 on a movie ticket.

wtf, are you joking? Nothing matters unless money is on the line? So you don't care about who wins a football game unless you bet on it? You've never cared, even in passing, which songs are on top of the charts?

Sorry to disturb you Mr. Spock but sometimes people like to have a feel of what's popular with our fellow humans.

Even the trailers looked as boring as oatmeal. Why would you waste $12 watching this dreck?

This is actually a series of books one is about the queen's life and the other is about the huntsman and Snow White. They are written in a similar way as Gregory Maguire's "Mirror, Mirror" "Wicked" series. I saw these books when they came out and read the brief description but have never read either one.

It all felt like it was being planned in a writer's room while watching it, nothing was natural or organic: I wonder if Kristen Stewart's mother had a hand in this movie? She is a screen writer and has access and connections. This how she got her daughter in to having choice acting roles.

Kristen Stewart did nothing but pout and heave her chest the entire time. Her speaking parts were minimal especially given that she was a lead in a movie. There were scenes in there that didn't advance the plot and seemed to be an after thought or just stuck in there to add time. For a moment, I thought it segued into Bambi. Charlize Theron kept it interesting and did a great job. The ending sucked, and makes me fear a sequel.

Some reviews from the UK are mixed so when the film hits the States, I hope the reviews are good.

Prometheus and Brave seem to be the months only good flicks. Then again, June.
