rickythepenguin: re the "red tire" vs "black tire" controversy....

At least it's better than the tire fun in F1.

this will absolutely, positively, NOT END WELL

So 13 lap shootout? Should be fun.

Tough luck for Rahal. Isn't that Ganassi equipment he's in?

I remember when the reverse happened years ago at a race in Portland. It was raining and then stopped, Paul Tracy ducked into the pits to get slicks way before anyone thought it was a good idea and then somehow managed to not spin out and just run off with it as the track dried and everyone else ducked into the pits for slicks.

The best thing about this kind of racuing is that Jimmy Johnson never wins

Hardly the first time there's been a wreck when the track gets a bit damp in places.

Jensaarai: This.

I can remember races where a downpour hits and they stay green unless someone spins out in a bad place on the track.

Rest of race

1 green lap

5 yellow laps

repeat

True FAKT

3 out of every 4 carneys in charge of the bumper cars at county fairs do a better job of staging an event.

This is ugly.

And I don't just mean going from HD to SD coverage.

Stream 4 at Firstrowsports dot eu is working, for anyone without the proper channel.

Sucks for Viso. Didn't look like his fault. (Never thought I'd say that.)

Right now Barichello must really be bummed.

What do you reckon it costs to be a main sponsor of a car so you can have your corporate image associated with this?

mikaloyd: What do you reckon it costs to be a main sponsor of a car so you can have your corporate image associated with this?

For an Indy car team? It's a few million.

It sucks that Newgarden lost a lap with that spin, because he's driving his ass off right now.

IIRC, during the whole Barichello rumor-time, they said he needed to round up about 3 million in sponsorship to run the full season.

Is there a feed for this somewhere?

What's funny is he probably has that much in the cushions of his couch. Even if he was the number 2 driver at Ferrari, he did not come cheap.

I dunno who had the more impressive day. Dixon or Franchitti.
