Can I use that catheter after you're done?

The really messed up part....Toronto Blue Jays 3B Brett Lawrie broke the story on twitter as it happened!

Can someone hook me up with a link to yesterday's?

Only one dead? We're much better shots down here.

C'mon Jessica, C'mon Tori, let's go to the mall you won't be sorry.

Put on your jelly-bracelets, and your cool graffiti-coat, at the mall havin' fun is what its all aboot.

First Union Station gets flooded by sewage and now this.

How did Toronto piss off God this time?

Seriously though Eaton Centre? Holy shiat, I've been in that mall and it's right in the center of downtown, there were probably tons of people around when the shooting happened.

Be interesting to see what the motive was.

2012-06-02 11:39:35 PM
I don't understand how this happened. Doesn't Canada have strict gun control laws in place?

2012-06-02 11:40:33 PM
I'm pretty sure this story is BS because they can't have guns in Toronto.

/politcal jabbing aside I'm sorry for the one who died and the others who were injured.

2012-06-02 11:41:37 PM
So there was this interesting section from a CBC story...

"I want my officers to have the time to gather all of the evidence," said Blair, adding that investigators will obtain footage from security cameras in the mall and speak to witnesses that come forward.

Most of the other victims - including the young boy - were likely innocent bystanders, he said.

I get what he was saying (the boy wasn't targeted), but that was a fun thought exercise in thinking when exactly a shot child wouldn't be innocent. Baby Hitler or Adult Dressed As A Child were best we came up with.

Seriously, though, that sucks. Never was a fan of Eaton (too much sensory overload) but I'm a fan of Toronto and I've been treated with awesome hospitality each time I've traveled there for work or pleasure. Hope those injured recover well.

The thing is, catheter porn represents a bridge between BDSM and pleasurable mutilation (if mutilation can be considered pleasurable). In part because some of that mutilation eventually requires the use of catheters. If you think about it, a penile bisection would make pissing nearly impossible.

it's culture; not class, not race, not income, not nationality.
makes you wonder what the police priorities are when the shooter tried to kill a half dozen people, is armed and at large, and police refuse to release a description of him though.

BroVinny: I don't understand how this happened. Doesn't Canada have strict gun control laws in place?

The shooter had excellent control of his firearm.

The last major shooting in downtown toronto was in 2005 where a teenage girl was killed.. just putting things into perspective and how rare this is

2012-06-02 11:45:22 PM
Jeez, the wife and I were in Toronto only a few weeks ago, and stayed less than 400 meters from there. As it happens didn't go that direction, we spent almost all our time on the waterfront or in Chinatown, but it just didn't feel like the kind of place something like that would happen.

Here's hoping the injuries aren't too severe, and have quick recoveries, although I'm sure the emotional issues will be as hard or harder to deal with. And hopefully the shooter doesn't cause any more harm, and comes to a very painful end. I'm sorry, but any sympathy I have for your situation vanishes the moment you intentionally injure an innocent bystander.

I don't which makes me more sick. The random shooting or the pregnate woman being trampled by the runaway crowd. In my mind I just made it worse with thought of some young guy telling her "get out of the way fatso" before she fell. What happened to Canadians are always polite?

/I just can't handle someone running over a pregnate woman
//may everyone who touched her or stepped over should have a rough time sleeping tonight

Frankly, releasing a description of him while he's known to be armed and unstable is liable to end in somebody trying to be a hero (and or just having a screaming conniption fit in panic), and getting themselves shot

I'm used to seeing this type of thing on the streets, but in a mall?

Wow, Toronto's a rougher town than I thought.

Isn't there a Fark party there today?

Yeah, but the odd mass shooting still happens, like anywhere.

Ontario & Quebec have the strictest gun control laws in Canada and are the safest provinces to live despite having nearly 21 million of the nearly 35 million citizens

I always thought Toronto was kinda dangerous in certain areas.

And then I went to Detroit.

Seriously though, condolences to the victims' families. The difference between this and the US crime, is that in the US, people are pushed to do desperate things. Whereas up here, people try so hard and want so badly to be a real thug yo. It's so friggin pathetic. This wasn't born of some despair and downtrodden oppression. I will gaurantee it was a group of wannabe hardass losers wearing designer clothes wanting to be gangsta. F*cking idiots.

Sadly panic mode know no nationality. I like to think I'd be level headed enough to help folks who get knocked down, but I've never been in a situation like that so I can't say for certain.

If only they allowed concealed carry like 49 US states this tragedy would not happen.

Sure is heading in that direction:

Toronto police chief Bill Blair described it as a targeted shooting in which bystanders were also hit.

"The nature of the wounds indicate this individual was targeted," he said.

And right in the middle of a busy shopping mall that attracts tons of tourists per year? I think they should just dump this guy into Lake Ontario once they find the shooter.

tuffsnake: Isn't there a Fark party there today?

Yes. Drew and about 10 of us Farkers were at a restaurant (WVRST) on King St. west, about a mile and a half west of the Eaton Centre. The news broke as a tweet from Blue Jays player Brett Lawrie who was, apparently, near the shooting.

man metaphysical: I would have busted out my 9 so fast and capped his ass before he even shot anyone.

But then the joy of killing would kick in, and the news story would be about you, instead.

So what country are the crybabies going to use as an example that "these things don't happen in " " " ?In the last year we've had Denmark, Norway and Canada among others.

How did that work, precisely? Did Detroit get Vancouver drunk and then lie about using protection?

Ah Toronto. Another gay porn star dismembering someone, another mass shooting at the mall...

I don't doubt it, just always felt more like an American city to me than any other Canadian one.

I understand a bit of confusion and revulsion when it comes to pregnate women (my god those stretch marks and that enlarged belly), but the swelling of the breasts is pretty nice.

All we need to do is pass a few more laws and we can change human nature. Promise.
