MissFeasance: Super overachiever. IB, debate, drama, student senate, NHS, a zillion clubs. I don't know how I found the energy.

I was this, but I found the energy by a) our school having no extras (I just had twice the classload), and b) never once speaking to another living soul.

I went through a couple of phases in HS.

First two years I was somewhere in the honors student/good girl/hippie/nerdy world.

Junior and senior year I was somewhere in the honors student/bad "smoking" girls/secret slut world (I'd only slut it up with boys who didn't go to my HS. I'd be very surprised if people in my HS knew what I was doing).

All four years I was pretty insecure. That was, until college.

I remember first day of HS, I was SO excited to be doing something new and exploring new things. And after the first day of HS, I realized it was all the same BS and was severely disappointed. I wanted out of there SO badly, starting from day 1.

I hated HS. You are mature enough to explore the world and take on new challenges but you are still stuck with the same old BS.

A hybrid: I was a drummer in concert/marching/jazz bands and all-state in Jazz. I was never subject to the bullying directed towards band members because I also played on Tier-I hockey teams all through high school, so no one really messed with me. I had to stand up for my friends on numerous occasions though who had some really crappy things done to them because they were in band. But as a result of being an athlete, I had a lot of good friends who were part of the Jock/popular crowd as well.

Most of my time in school was spent with music, hockey, horses, fishing, or guns. And I drank A LOT (hooray older siblings).

/CSB: Was told by an administrator that I was the only Eagle Scout he knew of who got into a fight and won.

Spaced Lion: I was myself, because I went to the best high school ever.

On the off chance anyone actually gives a shiat, I shall elaborate. I went to a charter school in a small town that had about 100-120 kids total at any given time. Cliques were heavily frowned upon, because that's what the assholes at everybody's old school did, and fark those people. There were no jocks because the only sports teams we had were girls' volleyball, boys' track, and golf. It was mostly artists, musicians, and geeks. Most of the decisions that impact the school are made by the students through the Justice Board (which is in charge of discipline) and the Student Achievement Committee (which organizes fundraisers, school events, and what have you).

In retrospect, I suppose you could say I was the "school spirit" guy because I've always been heavily involved with the school. I worked in the library cataloguing books the summer after my sophomore year. I helped design the school's logo while I was dating the artist they commissioned to do it. I became the youngest substitute teacher on record there when the yoga teacher got cancer halfway through my junior year, and have returned to sub classes on several occasions. After I graduated, I served on the school board for 2 years as the alumni representative. I've given several guest lectures at assemblies in the last couple years. Et cetera, et cetera.

I wish I went to your HS.

Drunk, stoned, and a serious criminal by the time I quit school and took my GED. GED is real easy to get, I was drunk, finished the tests in a quarter of the time allotted and still averaged 89.6 across the tests.

RibbyK: adragontattoo: Excluding the ~2 year timeframe where being friends with the wrong person resulted in literally 1/2 the school trying to fight me? I was friendly with pretty much everyone, and was left alone (regarding the above partly) after it was realized that the following items were true:
1: If I lost my temper, get the hell away from me.
I put a kid into his locker while 2 administrators were trying to restrain me (they saw it starting and knew what was going to happen when I got fed up).
I put my arm through a wall (yes my arm), after being kicked out of class. I shrugged, said "shiat! I already know where to go." and headed to the principals office.
2: I was smart enough to get straight A's but didnt care enough to try.
3: I knew the rules better than the administration did, and they knew it.
4: It was easier to pass/graduate me, knowing I would never return then it was to have me come back.
5: I "knew a guy" who could get pretty much whatever you were after.
6: The school facilities folks loved me, and never cared when I was "assigned" to work with them because they knew I would bust ass for them.
7: Trying to knock me out would only result in making me dizzy and angry. It would never succeed in actually knocking me out.

I actively tried to avoid fighting anyone in Highschool because I knew how bad my temper was, I did not want to end up putting someone into the hospital (again ((short version, he didnt get the hint after the first 3 fights he lost to me))) because they pushed me just a bit too far. The couple times I was pushed into a situation where that might happen, I usually got the other side bored or laughed at by my running commentary on their lack of power or fighting ability. The fact that I RARELY fought back was the main reason that the school system didnt go after me more than they did. I dont know what the term would be for me to be honest. In today's climate, I would have been kicked out for a litany of zero tolerance BS.

smoked behind the gym, made straight a's, sold answers to tests, hung out with the punks. left public school early b/c of all the bs and went to private school where we got actual smoke (coke) breaks.
high school was way more fun than college.

A virgin and an asshole...yeah I know the combinations you can put that to, but that pretty much sums up my high school career....which is why I do not go to reunions...not very pleasant to be reminded what an asshole you were or how disgustingly virgin you were or virigin asshole etc. etc. etc.

i was the guy who didn't give a shiat, because i'd scored so highly on the stanford standardized that they wanted to doogie howser me, and my dad said no. the first time, in first grade. in third grade, he threw in a lot of incredibly colorful swearing, and told them to never farking bother him again.

and then, being a dick, he proceeded to knock my mom up, twice in three years. so i spent high school taking care of their kids, cuz mom figured out just what kind of selfish cocksucker she'd married, along about then.

so. i did what i wanted. i never intentionally hurt anyone, but i did hurt some folks. drank and drugged, farked and fought.

and sought ways to entertain myself...which made me sort of entertaining.

Jixa: I moved around A LOT when I was in school. 7 elementary schools, 3 jr. high/middle schools, and 2 high schools. I was always the outsider, the geek, the wall flower, the ugly military brat. My home life was chaotic as well, so between the shunning at school and the instability at home and living in a combat zone for 3 years, I was pretty much a basket case with PTSD, as well. After years of shiatty treatment and being shot down, it kinda makes you bitter and reluctant to make friends, or even interact with people in general. (Thanks to the anonymity of the internet, I can get my opinions out without being face-to-face with anyone, but we didn't have it back then.)
One year of middle school and one year of high school was in the city I currently live in. When we first moved back here, I was stupid enough to try and make contact with my old friends. Being a social recluse it took a hell of a lot of courage to walk up to a person I used to know and say "Hi, remember me!" :) I didn't expect everyone I knew back then to remember me but, this was a person whom I had spent a lot of time with. She was a person that I had considered a "best friend". We were in the same church, scout troop, a few classes together, and had been on sleepovers, camp-outs, and family BBQs. After only 3 years, she had no idea who I was, she didn't remember me at all. It was humiliating, embarrassing, and showed me just how inconsequential my friendship was to her, when her friendship was like a priceless treasure to me.(take that, fragile psyche!).

That was the first and last time I ever tried to get in contact with my past. Every once in a while, I see someone I knew from school. I see them and remember them but no one remembers me. fark them!

I'll claim we were bff in 2nd grade, we ate paste together. Hugz.

Just a loner anime geek who had some friends but really had no lasting relationships. I was pretty smart about most things, save for math. Generally because of my above averageness, it lead to people bullying me. Wasn't too terrible, more annoying than anything else. Though it had its moments where it got serious and I had to step up. Never went to prom, didn't do dances. Did do senior graduation though, said my goodbyes to those whom stuck with me since middle school that I did know. Some have added me on facebook but I'm meh on most of them. My friendships I made in college when my shell was broken have lasted me a lot longer. I'm still a geek, but less of a loner. I'm still awkward in a room with strangers, but I can manage if we find common ground.

Hello everybody, this is my Boobies ever, after long time spent just reading the threads.

It was kinda special for me on american HS, I was Eastern European foreign exchange kid thrown in the middle of the culture I couldnt understand. I was very confused for the first 3 months of my stay. It was a fun year though. Althoug I still dont understand many aspects of american way of life.

//How you doin???

CSB:

I dated a girl who was a freshman when I was a junior. When we started dating, she was a D cup. By the time we broke up, she was a double D. Got a lot of gropes with her, but never nailed her. Shortly after that, I started nailing just about every girl in the color guard.

I got along pretty well with most of the people in my high school. I always thought I was an outcast until my junior year when one of my friends pointed out that everyone we'd passed in the hallway said 'Hi' to me. With the confidence that one comment gave me, I did much better with the ladies!

Art chick, gothy, moderately slutty, decent grades, got along with most people.

Lived in a small coastal SC town where there wasn't much to do but have sex and get f@cked up (like most small towns, really). Discovered the joy of "dating" military dudes by junior year, since we lived right next to several military bases.
