I learned to drink wine on the pink stuff. Then white, then was forced to drink red by an old employer, and learned that reds are the way to go. Hated them at first, but now by far my favorite. Whites are a distant second, though I'm a huge fan of prosecco.

We owe the current up-swig in dry rosé to young people. They carry no presuppositions about its color; they have no hangover from the inglorious bastardization.

As one of the "young people" wine drinkers (hey, I'm under 30, in context of wine that's pretty young) I think they may be mistaking not giving a shiat for actual ignorance. I'm aware of why roses are associated with cheap, low-class wine... they generally are cheap, and "class" involves complex pre-aging processing and lack of post-aging processing, both of which are precluded by the nature of blush/rose wine making.

I just don't care, for the same reasons I don't have a stick up my ass about actual corks vs polymer corks vs screw-tops. I mean, I have an opinion, but it's based on practical considerations of gas exchange so I think screw-tops are better (pro tip: they are better, just sayin'). But generally, if it tastes good then the details of processing, aging, and even varietal aren't really relevant. It's a bloody recession recovery, the cheap/good balance leans left anyhow.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. In all seriousness, I find most wines to be "disgusting tasting", but find the smoky peat taste of a fine single-malt, or the sweeter taste of a good bourbon to be a gift from the gods.

I've never had a rose or blush wine that I liked. I would be willing to make exceptions, though, should anyone like to point me in the direction of a wine that doesn't taste like a sugar barf or a cough drop.

I like sweet wines, Reislings and such. Although in fairness I haven't found a wine yet that I didn't consider at least "drinkable". But I've had a few pinks and they're mostly gross: sweet in an artificial, unpleasant way.
