(TSN)   For the Olympics there will be over 5,000 hours of televised coverage available on several networks and online... in Canada. Americans on the other hand will get 100 hours of Bob Costas with a pretty gymnast and lots of flags   (tsn.ca) divider line 4

bubbaprog: Actually, subby, every single Olympic event will be streamed live by NBC over the internet in the United States.

NBC executives decided to shift from their longtime philosophy and make every event available as it happens, convinced that the plan will build interest in the Olympics and not siphon off viewership from the traditional nightly broadcasts.

Continue your ignorant NBC-bashing.

The problem with the streaming on the net is it would be too easy to just switch over to porn instead of rubbin one out to some mildly sexy events like syncronized swimming, water polo or speed walking like a true American patriot.

I DEMAND to see the womens 10 meter air pistol matches in their entirety live on broadcast TV. Because that south korean broad doesnt wear bras and her nipples are the size of lug nuts on a Kenworth.

Some Bass Playing Guy: U.S. coverage is really shiatty now. When I was kid in the 70's, whichever major network had coverage pretty much only showed the Olympics. It was on day and night, preempting regular programming.

ABC's Wide World of Sports knew how to present the Olympics: simply, with intelligent commentary, and some mild patriotism when necessary. When they lost the contract US Olympic coverage quickly cratered into the candy-coated monstrosity it is now.

It's basically a network-approved version of this:
