That article is a bunch of crap. The only thing you have to do to prove media bias is to show that Obama is getting more positive coverage than he deserves, not more positive than negative overall.

Seeing as how Obama deserves maybe 1-2 positive coverage stories in the last 3 years (guns in national parks deserves one, though he can't really claim credit for it, maybe there's another I'm not thinking of), then it's easy to see how a 60/40 negative to positive coverage is actually still a lot more positive than what a reality-based media would give you.

So, we should evaluate this based on an individual's subjective opinion on the coverage he deserves, not what actually did/did not happen in the news.

Sounds brilliant.

The hillbilly has a point sort of. Obama's coverage should be more like 80% positive, with things like ending the war in Iraq and health care coverage, and ending the Republican depression. So the coverage is even more lopsided than it should be.

apparently ending the iraq war, killing OBL, preventing a second great depression and guaranteeing health coverage for 40 million uninsured americans is "nothing."

What tripe. Why just this morning CNN had Will Cain from the famous gay men's site The Blaze, John Huntsman's totally unbiased daughter Abby and popular legal hack Jeffrey Toobin discussing how Clinton's comments about Obama being a better choice for president totally mean he's throwing his support behind Rmoney. I mean what is biased about that?

The media has to create a close horse race, or nobody will click on their ads. It is a shame because there are a lot of legitimate things to criticize Obama for, and many to support him for. At the end of the day people will re-elect him just like they re-elected GWB because of their general feelings about the matter, not because of concrete analysis of his performance.

And yes, Obama's opponents really do suck. That has always been his unassailable political asset.

It really helps if you get a giant calendar to keep track of all the changes that happen. For example, my calendar denotes the days when Obama is a megalomaniacal warrior hellbent on ignoring everything people tell him to do and the days when Obama is an empty-suit panderer who tries to do exactly everything people tell him to do. I believe today is a megalomaniacal warrior day.

We're discussing the idea of the "liberal media" propping up Obama, as is oft charged.

You're not technically incorrect, it's just a little irrelevant for this conversation.

Anyone that actually tries to argue that the media isn't in Obama's pocket just looks like the retardiest retard of all retards.

Show us another chart now.

Just look at how some howl when someone somewhere in the media actually sorta criticizes Obama somehow, YOU CAN'T DO THAT.

The fun part of an Obama second term would be to watch the media as a whole eventually turn on Obama. That's the pattern, just look at other Presidents.

Of course, Obama's skin color will keep the crusaders from being too hard on him, ever.

When Republicans (and, even some non-Republicans) use the word liberal, what they mean is pro-Obama.

The Affordable Care Act can't legitimately be called objectively liberal. It wasn't liberal when the Heritage Foundation came up with it; it wasn't liberal when Newt Gingrich championed it; it wasn't liberal when Mitt Romney signed it into law in Massachusetts.

It's called liberal SOLELY because, today, it is associated with Mr. Obama.

2012-06-01 12:29:40 PM
Did this factor in that all of the Republican nominees as well? I don't recall Romney being the frontrunner among his own base until they were told he was a month or so ago.
