Agreed! That video is hilarious. She's definitely got some comedy talent and a wicked sense of humor.

REO-Weedwagon: Life's all about timing. This guy needed a hot, young singer to be the face of his new album Jagged Little Pill. Alanis was in LA, auditioned and got the part.

Happy birthday, 90s girl.

Jagged Little Pill and Robbin' the Hood were my first CDs. Probably explains a lot.

Google Glenn Ballard, it is fairly common knowledge.

She's also got quite a set of pipes. It's such a shame that actual singing isn't a part of music anymore.

If that were the first Sublime CD I heard, I'm not sure I would have ever listened to any others, though I gues I would've heard plenty of them anyway.

If you call shrieking like a cat with it's tail being sawed off "singing", then, Ok.

That middle section of "You Learn" is just yelling...nothing more.

It's called dynamics, you old fart. As long as the frequency is in harmony with the accompaniment, it's "singing." Whether you find the tone pleasant or not is not what determines whether or not something is "singing."

lennavan: kid_icarus: bdub77: Best use of ironic tag ever. Doncha think?

/oh yah I really do think

Is it an ironic use of the ironic tag, though?

No. Which is ironic because Alanis Morisette's song "ironic" had a bunch of things that were not ironic at all either. So that means yes, it is an ironic use of the ironic tag.

I've always thought maybe that was the point? That the song is called "Ironic" yet none of the examples in the song are actually ironic so that makes it ironic?

WhippingBoy: frepnog: WhippingBoy: Buckney Gurre: She used to be the hottest, sexiest star in the world. Damn, she was fine! But tragically, things all went downhill after YCDTOTV was cancelled.

Are we talking about the same Alanis? I mean, she was never ugly (still isn't), but "hot" is a bit of a stretch.

/unless you mean "always too hot"

she was ALMOST hot once. in the first video she was in, You Oughta Know. Since then she has been sorta fat, sorta greasy looking, sorta cute sometimes, and mostly useless.

Oh, that wasn't the first video she was in.

/you make your best shot too hot to hold

I'm 38.

I'd bang her. She certainly doesn't look bad for 38. Not the greatest, but you people don't know what a bad 38 looks like.

I'd rub her off, or jiggle her, or whatever it's called when you masturbate a chick.

My favorite of hers, also from that album:

It's an ironic use of the ironic tag in that there's nothing ironic about it, much the same as the lyrics to her song Ironic.

I always liked Alanis. She was just a little older than me and hot and alternative and slightly psycho. That's very attractive.

And give her a break with the ironic shiat already, she wrote that when she was like 19.

Reverse genders in "You Oughtta Know" and the lyrics apply for me to a girl I used to be with.

Yikes! She hasn't aged well and/or that is an awful, awful make-up job. The bewbies don't even quite save it IMHO.

She has always reminded me of the last girl at a party. You know the one. OK looking, but had waaayy too much to drink.

Alanis had a great '90s alternative chick look. She could have been a great lead on Charmed.

66dude: I loved her song, "God", from Dogma.

I vaguely remember Kevin Smith saying after they filmed that:

"It's funny I cast her to play God, because from the way she takes direction she must think she is."

zarberg: "It's funny I cast her to play God, because from the way she takes direction she must think she is."

Kevin Smith pretty much talks shiat about everyone he works with. Which is funny since he made an entire movie about beating down people who talk shiat about him.

This is my favourite song of hers (probably not the best version, but decent).
