Gotta a feeling after the election we'll be singing:

Brave Bill Clinton ran away.
("No!")
Bravely ran away away.
("I didn't!")
When danger reared it's ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
("no!")
Yes, brave Bill Clinton turned about
("I didn't!")
And gallantly he chickened out.
****Bravely**** taking ("I never did!") to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat.
("all lies!")
Bravest of the braaaave, Bill Clinton!

Yeah because the whole recall movement was started and funded only by the concerned Wisconsin folk and not by national labor organizations.

Koch says what?

How dare the state government have a say in how it manages its employees!

This is bad news, for Obama. Walker is ahead in the polls by 7% I believe.

Don't understand why liberals support organized crime, on the taxpayer dollar. Should be against everything you supposedly believe in.

Ya know, besides the political rhetoric and some of his major fark ups even I like Bill Clinton.

I think the right is developing the same relationship with Bill Clinton that the left is developing with Bush Sr. They don't agree with a lot of what he did, but they acknowledge that he could have been a hell of a lot worse.

I don't understand why conservatives oppose unions. The concept aligns with free market economics. I guess we only like regulations when they help our big business handlers, right?

No when I cannot get a job without joining a union. That's not really free market economics.

Or when the union goes on strike, I can't fire the workers.. that's not free market economics.

Or when I go to work as a temp for striking workers and get beat up and my car destroyed. That's not free market economics.

Sticks it to the average everyday taxpayer. How have unions done with our education system? We spend what, ten times more than some other nations per pupil but do worse.

Some unions have had ties to organized crime. Therefore public employee unions are literally the mafia. QED, libulardo.

I've been mostly just trying to quietly read these Wisconsin threads and keep my mouth shut. But I gotta ask: How did we get from teachers raising protests over their busted union to supporting those teachers = supporting organized crime? More to the point, why would Wisconsinites trust their children and futures with them?

Or is this one of those "Jimmy Hoffa had Mafia links, therefore all unions everywhere are bad"?

Happens all the time. Here in lovely Vermont, the local teacher's union thugs threatened to shut down a school board member's private business because he disagreed with them (South Burlington). School board member was a volunteer. He backed down. This is the kind of crap unions do. There is billions of dollars of taxpayer money, federal, state, and local on the line and unions control almost all of it. Their performance in the school system should be enough for us to get rid of it. But..... liberals get a lot of money, hundreds of millions a year directly from these unions, it is a self sustaining and enriching endevor. They will not let it go.

Ask yourself when the last good thing a union did for education, or state government. Answer honestly and you will agree with Walker. Unions can still exist, nobody is saying otherwise. Governments should not be forced to do business with them, and they are right now.

Cool story, bro. Let's talk about Wisconsin. What have the "union thugs" that are part of organized crime done there?

Ask yourself when the last good thing a union did for education, or state government. Answer honestly and you will agree with Walker. Unions can still exist, nobody is saying otherwise. Governments should not be forced to do business with them, and they are right now.
Where I live, the teacher's union has tirelessly fought for smaller class sizes. They don't get them, despite trying, and education is suffering across the board as a result. If there was no teacher's union, the government would seem to prefer to run elementary schools like university halls, 400 chairs to an educator. But again, that's nothing to do with Wisconsin. I don't know enough about Wisconsin to answer that question - which is why I mostly keep my keyboard silent on it.

He had quadruple heart bypass surgery in 2004, and they had to place stents to shore it up in 2010. That can really, really wear on a person over time, particularly if the heart isn't getting the correct amount of oxygen.

Get over it the union is a dying breed.

Oh and if you don't like unions don't work in a union shop. Even with unions we are trending towards slave labor in this nation...

I think the only thing left to do is sit back and watch these red states sink further into a hell of their own making. We need, however, to make sure to contain the rot as much as possible. Sooner or later these 'alpha male wanna-be's' will do something heinous enough to make even their dumbass followers see what they are.
