Liv Tyler is lucky she didn't have to grow up with him as a dad. Could you imagine being around a guy in his 40s that stopped his emotional development at 14?

I thought the Veyron SS was the world's fastest street legal production car, and it costs a hell of a lot more than $1.1m

So what is the CTS-V? The fastest sedan?

Nope, this beats it to 200mph by eight seconds.

But isn't the Venom's top speed lower than that of the Veyron SS?

Girion47: So what is the CTS-V? The fastest sedan?

It makes it the fastest Cadillac. There are many cars faster than the CTS-V.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fastest_production_cars

The CTS-V certainly is no slouch, but it suffers from having the Cadillac name. Most people still associated Cadillac with the "old person" car image, and it's a tough one to shake no matter how good of a vehicle it may be.

Hang on, apparently the top speed is 275mph. The Wiki article on top speeds is incorrect as it lists the Venom as having a top speed of 260mph while the Veyron SS is at 267. I guess the article is right.

Still, I can't find anything beyond news reports that confirms the top speed. I am hesitant.

Far as I know the Veyron SS is about 7mph faster at 267. The Venom has a theoretically higher top speed but I don't think there's anywhere they can drive it to find out for sure.

It's almost as if there is a difference between fastest and quickest........

But I believe anything Rod Saboury has owned or built in the last 20 years would be the fastest and quickest street legal car.....Pump gas, DoT tires, mufflers, and inspection sticker.....

Correct, they've confirmed the top speed of the Veyron, but so far the top speed of the Venom is only "claimed" at 275. It's not officially confirmed.

Did they have to engineer new tires? Wasn't that the limiting factor in the Veyrons top speed...centrifugal force would shred the tires.

Maybe I misunderstand the article, but I think it's actually saying that the Veyron does 192 in 15.9 seconds while this car hits 200 in the same time.

My friend at work lives in Norwell, MA and Tyler drives by his house to get to the highway. He says he has seen him in 10 different cars in the 2 years he has lived there all of them antiques and mostly roadsters. He also said Tyler will almost always honk and wave of the kids are out front.

With its one inch of ground clearance one pothole and it's over.

Nice bit of promotion for Hennessey, doubt you would ever see Tyler behind the wheel unless the media was there.

So basically the difference between this and the Veyron SS is if you line them up at the traffic light, the Venom hits the gas station at the end of the street a quarter of a second before the Veyron does.

After a certain HP rating it pretty much comes down to "If you floor this anywhere that isn't a closed track or some isolated rural area, you die."

/plus just because it is street legal doesn't mean it has the ground clearance to be driven on the street
//just grumpy because it rained and I couldn't wash my cars on my day off

Am I alone in thinking this guy(?) has the freakiest head outside of science fiction?
