Reckon I lied this AM when I posted that "Another Action Caturday Gd Meowning" pic.
Didn't even make it in until after the AM vet appt, which wasn't both the younger laddies as scheduled. Jimmy decided he Wasn't Going, No Way No How. So sis Tiger went in his place. He & Tori should go next time, which is Mon AM. Then Cali gets to go after lunch Mon, & she generally would rather not either.

As long as some seem to be on an Age Tear -- I was definitely old enough to Pay Attention to this at the time, also able to read it all without querying what any of the words meant. Wasn't quite like the young spelling bee star who didn't last long, who's said to have begun reading at age 2.

The Oreo Ninja clowder would like to commend (purr at, leg rub and headbump) Leepj for having so many ninja kitties gracing her life!

@)~~}~~~~~

Seriously. Teh black kittehs are the least likely to be adopted...and most likely to be abused and/or euthanized. :(

On a happier note...on Thursday Raven turned ONE YEAR OLD!
Gotta get some recent pic for y'all. She is still small (although not freakishly so) which delights me very much for some reason.
Watching her stalk a moth last night, I have to admit that Riktor and Wimsey have taught her well.
Don't know what her score is for outside prey (e.g., mice, gophers, birds, etc.,) but she got her anti-tapeworm medicine right along with 'the big kids'. Took it well too...only took two tries to get it down her furry little throat...and she forgave me right away.

When doing stuff like pills and shots, I always tell them what I am doing and why I'm doing it- how it will benefit them.
I honestly don't know how much they take in...but they not only cooperate, they purr while they are getting their shots...
and there is no 'retaliation'.

I think maybe the fact they get 'nip after a procedure doesn't hurt either...

I_fling_poo: Introducing my parents' dog, Dinky. Also known as Dinkles, Humperdink, Dumbshiat, and Knockitoff.
I puppysat him for one night. The cats let him live, which is nice because he just about pissed all over everything in the 24 hours that I had him.

He has an excitable bladder.

And an excitable tail.

Sadie doesn't seem impressed.

Since valnt9 already posted what's become my fave b'day pic (that I've catptionated for Significant B'days), I won't do it again for either leftteft or Raven. Be nice & share, pls? Enough mousies for all, it's hoped.
Plumbicon must rise at 0dark30 to prep for his chorus all-day reh. He must be there before I need to be at my all-day ldrsp workshop. Against his better judgment, he's letting me have the car (there's just one). I take him to the grocery on the way to buy more coffee (just in case) then leave him off at Harmony Lodge, where we were last eve; then I go Over The O-Hi-O to Covington KY for the SwAd workshop. I hope I get to bid You Good Folks Good Meowning before we gotta leave; he says at the Lodge NLT 8 AM.

No.. just walk fast instead of running... Wait till 67 comes around ! Really, it's just a number.. that certain day keeps coming around every year.. can't even hide from it..... still work 40+ hours weekly... plus the friends calling me when the AC or heat ceases to work.. but they do provide food on those occasions..

None of the feline overlords are impressed by Dinky.
I'm puppysitting again tonight. There will be lots and lots of apology tuna after I take him home. The thing is, I don't know how long I'm keeping him. Could be one night, could be the weekend. Either way, they're pissed.

For me, b'days that end in '5' tend to be bad, more so than those that end in '0'. 25, 35, and 45 were bad. Maybe it's something about being halfway thru a decade; I dunno. So far I don't feel major anxiety on the upcoming one. Still a few days to go, though.

Double nickels for this old hippie too later this year...
Trespass on my lawn at your own risk.
Oh, not me being grumpy about it...just I don't know what may be lurking living in the high grass that I really ought to cut...

Updating the clowder's medical records...and guess what!
Eldest cat Riktor will celebrate his TENTH birthday on Monday's full Moon!

i921.photobucket.com

Misha the Alpha-Cat (who was also a ninja...albeit a very LOUD one who awaits us at the Bridge) brought home this small, stray ~five-month old kitten. Misha informed me that the little guy would be joining the household as his apprentice and 'would I please make the necessary arrangements?' (I.e., food, toys, the Visit to the Sainted Vet...)
I suspect Misha of advising the little guy to "Turn on the charm, kid...play your cards right and she's a pushover." The little one acted upon this advice by jumping up on back of my sewing chair and flipping his purr mechanism switch to ON.

The chair ( a substantial office-type...with an even more substantial occupant) began to vibrate.
He wasn't exactly loud but he had a powerful low frequency which could be FELT.
Impossible to ignore.
"Geez, this kid's got a purr like an earthquake! He must be off the Richter scale!"
Well, there it was. He'd told me his name, so we had to keep him.

For some reason though, the spelling just didn't -quite- feel 'right', didn't quite fit his personality. Incorporating the term 'temblor' (earthquake) into it solved the aesthetic dilemma...and the result was "Riktor"...a name and phenomenon that he wears with style and panache.

Cinco had his surgery.....all was successful, no more baby making for him! Not that he ever did but he wanted to!

He is really a sweet little guy. He and Robin do NOT get along at all. Robin screams at him. I've already broken up a 'fight' this morning. They didn't touch each other, just lots of screaming. Everyone got squirted with the dreaded water bottle. The other animals are ok with him.

He gave himself the mark on the side of his face during the night before his surgery. He did not like being locked up in my office and tried to get out. I didn't see it till we were at the Vet's...I felt AWFUL but he just rubbed off fur.
