Gumaraid: Really nothing is amusing about narrow minded people who need politicians to tell them what to think because they are to lazy get the truth to build an original thought for themselves.

Noting you have said so far is an original thought. It's just the same tired talking points I heard from all the other "free-thinking" independents on Fark.

Wake me up when you actually do have something original to say.

Gumaraid: You are either so brainwashed or addled that you must have damaged your long- term memory. Yep. They filibustered everything so much that ObamaCare didn't pass, the trillions of dollars in stimulus spending never got out of committee, blah, blah, blah. There is no debating a fool who can't look past his labels for those who disagree with him. Keep the faith bro. Maybe one day your little smarmy fairy tale of the Man robbing one group of people to give to another of his choosing will come true. That day will smack the smugness right off your face when you realize the robbery victim is you, troll.

For a guy saying I can't look past labels, you sure use a lot of labels.

FlashHarry: Elmo Jones: The economy was f*cking roses, right up until January 20th, at 12:05, right?

this is what republicans actually believe.

/don't get the plagiarism thing though. is that new?

Way back when, 25 years ago, Joe Biden made reference to a speech given by British Labour leader Neil Kinnock.

Two things to remember:

1. Politicians frequently crib from other politician's speeches; this is standard practice.
2. Biden had, on every other occasion he referenced Kinnock's speech, attributed the original to Kinnock.

Anyway, one time 25 years ago, Biden (who had, as stated, had previously always credited Kinnock) gave the same little speech and this time didn't credit Kinnock.

Other Democrats, namely Dukakis, seized on this and fed it to the press, not mentioning the previous attributions Biden had given. Republicans, being not very bright, didn't understand politics vs. reality, and also seized on this with their usual disdain for the facts. So, for 25 years, Republicans, being the supergeniuses they are, have sincerely believed that forgetting to credit a person 1 time out of 20 (after having previously given attribution many times) constitutes plagiarism (plagiarism is, of course, uncited and attempting to pass something off as your own, which repeatedly telling people you took something from somewhere doesn't constitute), and that means Joe Biden has plagiarized everything he's ever said before or since.

Most people realize that if you write a book that references another book 20 times with full citations, and one time the citation gets left off, this is called "an oversight", not "plagiarism". Of course those people don't vote straight ticket R, so there you go.

Also I have to question how retarded The Weekly Standard and the submitter are to think that this is "blame":

"The months before I took the oath of office were a chaotic time," Obama said, after explaining that the president's job is isolating, and that he and Bush have a connection since so few have held the job. "We knew our economy was in trouble, our fellow Americans were in pain, but we wouldn't know until later just how breathtaking the financial crisis had been."

Is mentioning reality at a time of transition "blame"?

If one cop is giving an award to another cop, and mentions that he remembers a time when there was a shift change, and he came in to a precinct handling a lot of sex assault calls as the other cop was going home, I really doubt he's accusing the other cop of actually being a rapist.

Especially when he immediately goes on to state:

"President Bush understood that rescuing our economy was not just a Democratic or Republican issue, it was an American priority."

"There was a financial crisis when we transitioned from Bush to my term in office, and Bush knew that this crisis was not some partisan thing but an American priority."

Hooboy, look at that blame go. Deranged-ass Republicans sure love to project, don't they?

Admittedly I am an ignorant liberal with no understanding of what it means to be a real American, and I have my head up my ass or something (feel free to cross out the rest of my comment to FTFY) but I thought the president was making a statement praising former president Bush for trying to repair a difficult issue. I didn't read anything in that article that suggests he was attacking the former president. Maybe I'm just a farkwit. (feel free to cross out "maybe" to FTFY)

Gumaraid, you have to realise something. This site has seen magnificent trolls. Some have been simply awe-inspiring in their dedication and invention. We've been exposed to truly brilliant minds hell-bent on garnering attention and whipping people in to a frenzy. It's telling that even those true greats haven't lasted the course. Your efforts have been so far below those lofty standards that you'll have to understand when we pour scorn and derision upon your frankly puerile posts. These are huge shoes to fill and you are currently failing utterly to even find the shoes to step in to. I'm going to take you on a journey back to your old high-school reports: Must try harder.

"Still, over those 2 1/2 months, in the midst of that crisis, President Bush, his cabinet, his staff, many of you who are here today, went out of your ways--George, you went out of your way--to make sure that the transition to a new administration was a seamless as possible. President Bush understood that rescuing our economy was not just a Democratic or Republican issue, it was an American priority. I'll always be grateful for that."

Then you need to sit down and STFU and do some more studying. Open mind is the Republican code for 'gullible', apparently.

I'm quite away of Republican goals and actions. I loathe and despise every last bit of it, and how they love to lie about everything and anything, even if they do it so badly no one could believe them. The so-called morals they follow are a betrayal of the teachings of Christ, a near complete reversal, and I have no desire for me or anyone I know to live in the sort of nation that they strive for, the new corporate feudalism where the lives of everyone not rich are completely disposable and unimportant.
