Florida finally has the Governor they deserve.

If you want a chance at improvement in the next election, might I suggest you firebomb The Villages. It's just an idea.

/Oh, and that whole central peckerwood part of the state, and the panhandle, except for the Naval Air Station.
//Ya know... We might have to go ahead and nuke the whole state. Sorry, mom and dad.

Every polling place would hire bouncers to keep out the black pe...I mean, uh...criminals.

I biatched about this on FARK in the past. Which political party is known for voter drives in churches, high schools, college campuses?. Hmmmm? Another POS piece of legislation from the supply-side Jesus-loving/ ALEC- controlled party of fear. Thank you 'activist' judge for having a functioning frontal lobe and a cerebral cortex that doesn't discriminate. It is clearly "just wrong"! "Harsh" is what is being reported on Bloomberg TV. The assholes arrested a farking HS civics teacher fer chrissakes.

This is very good news, and this is even better news: Link

For all the biatching and whining conservatives do about virtually non-existent voter fraud, the real /i> problem is voter suppression. Making it harder for certain groups of people to vote, and the illegal targeting and purging of (mostly) minorities and Democrats from voter rolls. Link

Remember, George W. Bush "won" Florida" in 2000 by 537 votes. Almost 12,000 legally qualified voters in Florida were misidentified as "felons unable to vote" and purged from the voter rolls before that election. Link

All I have to say about voter fraud is that the only person who got busted for fraud during the infamous 2000 election was the Republican from my hometown who stole his ex-boyfriend's absentee ballot and used it to vote for George W. Bush a second time. When I see his brother posting on facebook about how great the Florida voter ID law is, I can barely resist the temptation to bring up the suggestion that he should ask his brother just how easy it is to commit voter fraud in Florida.

Everything I needed to know about "voter fraud" I learned from Indiana's Republican Secretary Of State who was CONVICTED of it a couple of months back.

Rick Scott is probably the most corrupt governor presently serving.

As someone who participated extensively in the 2008 Florida voter registration efforts, let me just say this:

GOOD.

""Requiring a volunteer not only to sign such a statement, but to swear to it, could have no purpose other than to discourage voluntary participation in legitimate, indeed constitutionally protected, activities," (Judge) Hinkle said."

(bold mine)

I'd like to see this bullshiat law overturned completely. Its only positive side is that it is so obviously punitive towards attempts at enfranchisement, no one's even fooled by what it's for.

Another thing? Stop calling it a "Voter Registration Law". That's the very opposite of what it is, and is a disingenuous attempt to hide its true purpose. Call it something like the "voter registrant intimidation law" or the "you get fined for activism" law.

Wessoman: Aaaand the Farktrolls are mysteriously silent on this one....

You really don't have to have a bunch of justifications for this. It's spoils of war. Get enough power and you get to do what you want to the losers.

But I'm sure they'd point out -- ACORN!!!!

The only jobs Scott has created have been for lawyers. The guy has been losing lawsuits like crazy.
