I was up $500 on my meager investments in April. Now I'm barely breaking even. Fark you Greece and Spain.

Can we get this out of the way?

The president has very little control over a free market. He has an extremely limited ability to affect the market. The markets are screwed because of maligned avarice of just a handful of companies/people.

Failure needs to really just go ahead and happen so that recovery can proceed without the pain and suffering we're going to experience. Sure, it'll suck. Look at how Iceland is doing though after their little fiasco, they're doing just fine; they're not at the level of what they were at, but they certainly aren't in Greece or Spain's position now.

Not for or against regulation of a free market, but what should happen is a careful oversight and redirection of the market if it begins to slide. If shiat begins to happen early and can be caught, temporary regulation should be considered so that greedy little dicks aren't going to ruin everything.

Good thing Allen West was around to convince me that this is due to a Romney win in the fall. Or do they only take credit for good news?

Unemployment went up from 8.1% to 8.2%

Obama is a failure.

Funny cause you guys were biatching about the drop in unemployment from 10% to 8.1% as inaccurate.. and now that it went up from 8.1% to 8.2%, the method of calculating the unemployment rate is correct?

Glad to know that you were angry when it went down... and now you are happy that it went up 0.1%. You must be fun at parties.

It went down becuase the govenment simply stopped counting people who werent looking for work. Real unemployment is at 16%.

At least hundreds of thousands of people will not be counted next month becuase their 99 weeks of f*ucking enemployment is going to run out and they will not be counted. So the enemployment number will go thats thats obviously good news right?.... RIGHT?!?!

No, I was assured earlier that "real" unemployment was at 75%, and that it would be ten times higher if demonicrats controlled the vestibules.

Well, if you harmonize the statisticals, unemployment is at 0% and all those people going about their day without jobs are just figments of your imagination.

Tell me why then in April the government simply dropped 356,000 people from the unemployment lidt then?

Oh and by the way, that graph only shows jobs created, hundreads of thousands of jobs are still lost every month, so that will offset the gains.

Where is the graph for that?

Nice try though.

If you aren't looking for work, you aren't counted for a very good reason.

Here is a partial list of people who don't have jobs but aren't counted as unemployed for obvious reasons:

1. Full time students
2. Housewives
3. People caring for sick family members full time
4. Retired people
5. People who inherited large sums of money and don't have to work

Now, in a poor economy, the numbers of people who fall into those categories do increase. People go back to school full time if they can't find a job, people get laid off and retire early, housewives give up looking for a part time job, etc. However, they still shouldn't be counted as unemployed because that would be silly to count them as unemployed when they aren't looking for work.

The labor participation rate is tracked, and it is lower than normal (although your "16% real unemployment" rate is wildly exaggerated).

Jobs, feh. Look at those stock prices. It's a FIRE SALE.

Invest in storage. Disk, whatever. SSDs, baby. Grab them when they get cheap.

The data deluge is on the horizon and storage will be king.

dollar goes up = more value for your buck

costs less dollars for oil, gold etc.

the price of oil and gold never change, its the currency around them that change.
