I contracted gonorrhea in college and because I was broke and had no health insurance, I had to live with it for several months. It's really not that bad despite what television has led us to believe. About five days after I had intercourse, it started to tingle when I urinated. A few days after that it really burned, like someone shoved a lit sparkler up my urethra. I punched a hole in the wall trying to take that first truly inflamed piss, but after a few weeks it didn't really bother me. The discharge was disgusting, though. It varied between white, yellow, and green cream cheese that would heavily stain my boxers and sheets. Whenever I did any kind of physical activity, my testicles would swell up, like to the point there wasn't a single wrinkle left on the sack. I took some pictures if anyone is interested.

I probably should've got it taken care of when a little cash came my way here and there, but it was kind of comforting knowing that I couldn't contract it on top of what I already had, no matter how many frat sluts I slept with. Though I bet some of those girls woke up a little surprised! I guess you should've brought the rubber, sweetie!

Certainly this cannot possibly be a repeat of the reports of antibiotic-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae from 1942, 1952, 1964, 1968, 1972, 1976, 1984, 1990, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008.

Complications

One of the complication of gonorrhea is systemic dissemination resulting in skin pustules or petechia, septic arthritis, meningitis or endocarditis.[3] This occurs in between 0.6 and 3.0% of women and 0.4 and 0.7% of men.[3]

In men, inflammation of the epididymis (epididymitis); prostate gland (prostatitis) and urethral stricture (urethritis) can result from untreated gonorrhea.[20] In women, the most common result of untreated gonorrhea is pelvic inflammatory disease. Other complications include perihepatitis,[20] a rare complication associated with Fitz-Hugh-Curtis syndrome; septic arthritis in the fingers, wrists, toes, and ankles; septic abortion; chorioamnionitis during pregnancy; neonatal or adult blindness from conjunctivitis; and infertility.

It will be interesting to see how society reacts to untreatable STDs. Since the development of antibiotics, promiscuity has become increasingly fashionable, and chastity viewed as antiquated and backward.

Once untreable STDs become widespread, i imagine we will return to the ideals of the 1800s, which were in place as a defense against these diseases.

well it is true that women enjoy about double the infection rate for many STDs. Youre right tho, it will be interesting to see what this whole situation does for women, for whom a significant amount of power comes from their sexuality.

Given how many prostitutes there were, and how much business they did, and the frequency of STD transmission, it would seem that these Victorian ideals were chiefly honored in the breach.

What I don't understand either is if you're not being safe because the Pope says no, why are you even in the game, 'cos he sure as hell says no to that as well. There is no excuse for catching the galloping knob rot. In the UK there are plenty of clinics that provide free contraception of all varieties and unless it's a prescription item you can be anonymous as well.

If you wake up and it doesn't burn when you pee the day has started well.
