FFS how much does the Idaho legislature pay? Better be a ton.

The Dude's gonna have to pay $500K+ in back taxes in no more than 5 years.

Idaho lawmaker problems.

FTFA: "The Athol home that Hart is trying to save was built in part with logs he illegally harvested from state school endowment land in 1996. Hart maintained he had the right as a citizen to take the logs for free, but he lost repeated court appeals and never fully satisfied a court judgment in the case.

Hart maintains that both state and federal income taxes are unconstitutional. He stopped filing tax returns for three years in the 1990s while he unsuccessfully pressed a lawsuit arguing the federal income tax was unconstitutional. Since then, he's started paying again and maintains he's paid up, but both federal and state authorities dispute that."

Some googles and I found out that dude has an MBA from Wharton, too.

I don't understand how it is that people continue to argue that the Federal income tax is unconstitutional. Do these people simply not accept any amendments after the first 10 or so?

Some of those jokers claim that since the state legislatures approved different versions of the Amendment, it's not valid. Those differences include extremely minor punctuation issues and differing font face.

I've heard about them assholes from El Paso, but an asshole from Athol?

FTFA"but both federal and state authorities dispute that"

Best part, forever. Here comes the Audit.

DO not fark with the taxman.

So he'll argue I filed Bankruptcy and the Feds and the state will point out he filed Chap 13 and will continue to pay taxes with penalties and interest. Then he'll say the penalties and interest are unconstitutional and should be removed. Then the Taxman says fark you pay me.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

US Constitution, Amendment XVI quoted here for your convenience. The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

"What is the difference between 'tax evasion' and 'tax avoidance'? - "About 15 years."

I'm sorry, sir, but since you haven't been paying your taxes, and don't feel you should have to, these public services are not available to you. You'll just have to figure it out on your own dime. You should have lots of those, since you don't want to share.

Not to thread-jack, but after I opted out of the scanner last week (medical reasons), the TSA employee doing the pat-down asked me to "take a wider stance". We had a good laugh over that, then I told him that I had actually met former Sen. Craig just a few days before the scandal broke...in the Spokane airport.

Back to the original story: this guy is a nut-case, even by Idaho state legislator standards.

Most Tea party members don't pay federal income taxes anyway - Payroll Taxes and State Taxes maybe.

Not because they choose not to; it is because they don't make enough, take EIC or because they are on Disability/Social Security.

What has the Government done for meeeeeee!

the anti tax crusader is filing bankruptcy and lists the IRS and Idaho Tax Commission as creditors.
indeed, epically ironic.
wait.
smitty, you've just one a fantastic prize for the most original use of the ironic tag in god knows when.

for society's sake, please get your ass down to east side railroad tracks, plop your junk on the nearest rail, and wait for your prize.

Most of our TEA party anti-tax loons over here in Montana seem to get by thanks to their six-figure ag subsidy checks.

Dollar says he paid what they said he owed them when they first said he was in arrears, and not everything he'd accumulated since then. Cue him in court waving around an eight-year-old tax bill: "But this is all they said I owed!"

I used to room with a guy who didn't believe that the phone bill had to be paid every month. When I told him what he owed for month two, he said, "But I thought we already paid that last month!" Several months later, he was still grumbling because the telephone was an ongoing charge.

Asshole should be put on a ball chain and forced to work splitting wood 12 hours a day at minimum wage until his debt is paid off.
