I don't think I ever saw the movie, but I do remember the video for the Andy Taylor song from the film that ran in heavy rotation on MTV for quite a while.

Damn, no Rubin & Ed. Loved that movie.

I would rejoice if they were professionally produced DVDs instead of burn on demand DVD-Rs.

Instead, this is a premium price for some kid to pop a DVD in the computer and burn a copy, which logically should make the price of these sets less, not more, than normal.

DVD-R's cost more, and take a longer time to produce than pressed DVD's being made 10,000 at a time. They're losing a LOT of economies of scale by doing it this way.

I hope they got the rights to the original music. It's gonna suck if they used some generic pap instead.

If they aren't pressed DVDs, no sale. Had too many DVD-R's I've made fail completely after 5 or so years.

I worked in a video store that finally closed just a few years ago. We had a lot of folks come in for hard to find VHS and DVDs and our distributor could usually get them. I was surprised by how many people came looking for Anne of Green Gables.

Also, a lot of older folks would come in with a Christmas list for their grand kids. There was an unusually high number of requests for Urotsukidoji. Kids...if you have to ask your grandparents to get it for you, maybe you should just wait until you're mature enough and get it yourself. You might not be able to handle it.

It's SIFL and OLLY, but seriously, QFT on that. I can't recall who farked up the rights on the first two seasons.

Bathia_Mapes: OH, they have "Green Slime"!

WANT!

My father and I had a love for sci-fi movies. We would often stay up late on friday night for the sci-fi theater on our local station. One night Green Slime came on and I said "This doesn't look good"
My dad said "Oh let's give it a chance"
As the horror uveiled-he wanted to change it to another station...but I refused to let him do so.

As we both laughed at the movie, we also found out we liked ridiculously bad movies.

Scrolled through the TV section. No Drew Carey Show season 2+, no Gargoyles season 2 volume 2. I am disappoint.

And why is Invader Zim on a "Never Before on DVD" list? Especially when links to the earlier DVDs are posted at the bottom of the page?

Nope. Probably never will be, either.

Too many rights issues.

This concept is cool.
Will these films end up being "On Demand"? I don't want more physical media around the house.

Yes, I could and I did order those types of movies. A buddy of mine was a bit of a collector.

Does Amazon give referral fees to those linking to their content?

Here is why I ask: This is the link in the click through page:

Upon googling the above link, this link shows up:

The Boogens, The Day the Clown Cried, or Savannah series?

I had to read the link to determine if "rare and hard to find" was modifying "DVD" or "Store". A DVD store of any kind is rare and hard to find these days.

Minktastic Mink!: tdyak: Is 60's Batman with Adam West available on DVD yet?

The movie is available. The television show is not.

My guess is that the show is tied up by music rights. It can be really hard and expense to get the rights to all the songs that play on a TV series--even Married with Children couldn't afford the rights to Frank Sinatra singing the theme song "Love and Marriage", which is a great pity because it's not the same without it. The show also had a lot of cameo guests--perhaps some of them want royalties. Not to mention the four or five differen cat women.

I'd love to see it as complete seasons on DVD or for download at a reasonable price but clearly money is hanging it up somewhere unless somebody was stupid and destroyed the tapes.

I have The Green Slime. If you like SF B-movie this is pretty awful. In fact, the pilot for Mystery Science Theatre 3000 was a short riff on this movie. The green slime grows into men in monster suits.

Not music rights. Hell, music rights are probably the least of the problems.

First off, WB owns Batman, but Fox produced the show.

Next, clearing all those cameo appearances.

In fact, why re-hash it all myself? Here is a long, long article on all the problems faced by anyone trying to bring the Batman TV show to DVD.

WKRP finally made it to DVD but they were butchered. Because of the music licencing costs they took out the original music and replaced it with elevator music. The same thing happened to Daria (the Everybody Hurts video parody is remarkably less funny without the actual song it is making fun of). The 80s Alvin and the Chipmunks and Kidd Video cartoons will probably never see a release at all, and if they do the same thing will happen to them. It's so stupid because the RIAA could make so much more money if they would be reasonable, but instead they'd rather get nothing.
