In another blow to Obama's reelection bid, consumer confidence, which has been low throughout Obama's presidency, stumbled badly last month after economists initially predicted confidence would go up.

plus - teleprompters! and...and..ipads! so like...take THAT man! because..because like...Obama is a muslim atheist and stuff! right, so like...he's totes gonna LOSE! yeah! And stuff!

I wonder what was the consumer confidence back in 2008 when everything was crashing?

Sounds more like the predicting economists stumbled badly, but that may just be me projecting.

I'm not big on Obama, but he's better than the alternatives. Plus I kind of know what his policies are at this point. Can anyone enumerate M.I.T.T.* Romney's beyond "I won't be Presidentin' while black."

*Mormon Industries Two Thousand, his chassis number.

I was unaware consumer confidence had a direct correlation with Presidential voting. Well, since we're throwing out shiat that doesn't prove anything, I'll go next:

In an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released Friday, Obama bested Romney by a yawning margin of 54 percent to 18 percent when people were asked whom they viewed as more "easygoing and likable."

Aw, give them a break. What else do they got?

Now if they were willing to talk about civil rights, the war on accountability, extra-judicial executions then they might be able to get respect. Unfortunately the right wing is for all those things too so they can't.

Well if TownHall said it, it must be true.

I never really believed that there was the fakery in news to ensure what appears to be an actual race. This particular cycle though, it's so glaring it's hard to ignore.

I got out of news business when it turned into regurgitating press releases with a "local flavour". This is a whole new level of manipulation.

I'm canadian, so I don't have a dog in this race, but damn man - some sensible people need to regain control of your country (I know, I know, Harper and I'm one to talk, but still...)

It's occured to me that, if alive, Feynman and Einstein would probably emigrate back to Germany. ( I know he's American - that's the joke.)

Well, this is just me, but whenever I'm happy, or when I'm sad, or sometimes just in between, however I feel at that moment, my first thought is always the President. I give him the blame when I'm sad and the credit when I'm happy.

I mean, doesn't everybody?

As opposed to the hordes lining up an petitioning to be Romney's VP candidate?

I get it. The Kochs REALLY want Romney and are willing to spend an asston to try to convince folks.

But it's still trying to convince folks that a sh*t sammich tastes like corned beef...

Yeah, you can tell folks how great it is, and you may get a few takers, but anyone who has lived with Romney as an Exec can tell you, he is a weight around their neck, and hands deep into their pockets, and with folks with hands deep into his own to extract said cash...

From your link: " 'On the specifics, I have regularly criticized an agenda that would punish businesses and job creators with more taxes just as they are trying to thrive again,' he said."
First of all, the article says he's leaving the Democratic Party, not "S.S. Obama." Secondly, the reason he's leaving is because of derp.

The number indicates that the onslaught of people and politicians abandoning the S.S. Obama continues unabated. In recent weeks, allies of Obama have defected from his campaign message if not from his person.

That number, according to this article?

Two.

Some politician who apparently goes by the name Davis, much like Cher, and Cory Booker, who was disinvited from being a surrogate. I think Booker still likes Obama, but I don't follow the stupid high school shiat that these `controversies' are made of, so I'm not sure.

Oh, and apparently the second derivative of this chart

I think.

"onslaught"?

2012-05-31 11:46:00 AM
...and?

The whole war on women talking point seems to really have legs. The black vote will probably be down from 08 but not below the usual dem haul. The liberal donk core is more or less satisfied.

And the republicans main constituincies are a mess. They've got to somehow get everyone behind a guy with a liberal record, that pratys to the wrong god, who's got so much money he doesnt have to wipe his own ass, and who doesn't drink.

Obamas got supporters to spare.

My favorite articles from the right wing derposphere are the steady stream of updates on what Obama voters believe. Like they have any clue whatsoever of the thought processes of sane, rational people.

I don't think so. I have met many actually retarded people in my life and I have found them to be relatively nice people who generally don't mean anyone harm. This is clearly not true of the mouthbreathers at Townhall.com

Do these folks actually assume that, because the Average Joe now understands that they can't buy everything they see on t.v., that they're all dumb enough to blame Obama for that?

I mean, maybe Townhall readers, but come on--ALL Americans?

Consumer "confidence" might not ever be what it was in the days of easy credit, in the mid-2000s. Isn't that a GOOD thing? And isn't it great that the average person might finally get that through their head? After all, our consumer "confidence" and "satisfaction" stupefied us out of preventing two needless wars, and fueled the greed of the housing bubble.

Maybe now they'd rather have a President that gives a shiat about them as citizens, than another few vanloads of Wal-mart crap. Bad news for Republicans.

I'll go ahead and predict--material covetousness aside, not enough people will "abandon" Obama this year to prevent him winning by a pretty nice margin.
