He's wasting his breath griping about rules he and his cronies installed. I can explain their approach to the issues:

They hate that you don't work.
They hate that you don't work and collect government benefits.
They hate that you do work and collect government benefits
They hate that you work and get a minimum wage.
They hate that you work and get anything more than a minimum wage.
They hate that you work for 30-40 years and expect to collect your pension.
They hate that you retired and don't work.
They hate that you retired and collect a pension.
They hate that you retired and collect government benefits.
They hate that you retired and get sick and collect government benefits.
They hate that you retired and go to the old folks home using government benefits.

Maybe, when you die, they stop hating.

I was thinking somebody went off his meds, but yeah, basically not in his right mind. I bet he regretted that emotional outburst right after sitting down. At least, that's what I do when I pull a stunt like that. Which is only 1-2 times a day, really.

He's a downstate Repub whose wikipedia page states he votes often for firearms-related laws.

" In May 2012, upset over a bill to overhaul state pensions, Bost screamed and threw papers on the Illinois House floor because the House was only given twenty minutes to review and vote on a two-hundred page bill.[1][2]"

If that's the case I think he's a right to be upset.

Wait, you won't vote in lockstep? Please turn in your R at the door on the way out.

I realize we don't want to have our representatives be overly emotional, it conflicts with clear thinking. It is very much over-the-top, but sadly I think it's a much better reaction than than the apathy/fake concern you get out of most others.

You can't read a 200-page bill in an hour. It's bullshiat, and the fact that no one cares to fix that is a clear sign corruption that corruption is so expected that no one is even expected to make a serious attempt at covering their tracks. I feel like I've lost my mind for saying this - but Herman Cain was actually on the right track with his "three-page bills" idea. It's a bit too simplistic a solution, but intentional obfuscation of lobbyist-written bills is just an absurd standard.

What? Why? His leadership told him how to vote. That's why our representatives have leadership - so they don't have to "think" all the time. Thinking is hard work, and makes it tougher to drink.

Stay away from God's grapes:

Revelation 14:19-20

19 The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes and threw them into the great winepress of God's wrath.
20 They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horses' bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia.

Bost is doing a poor imitation of retired IL House member Bill Black... now THAT guy knew how to RAGE, and did so regularly, very entertaining.

Bost is a half-wit, can barely string together a coherent sentence when NOT yelling. And I can say that, having worked with the guy.

What scares me is, he's the best guy his district could come up with to represent them. You don't want to see the candidates that lost.

I'm sorry but this guy knew exactly what was in the bill, and was part of the leadership involved in crafting it. He's not upset that he didn't get to read a 200 page bill in 15 minutes - he already knew every single passage in the bill - he's upset that the Republicans didn't get to mash a bunch of right-wing bullshiat into it.

This.

Also, the republicans in a certain neighboring state had no problem with pushing through a surprise, last-minute, open-meeting-laws violating vote attacking public schools. Odd.

I liked how the guys on both sides picked up the flying pages and added them to the piles they already had, as if they were theirs all along...

As for the 'notice', I'd like a little more details on how this works, sounds like the Bill itself has been bouncing around since February of last year, do you think they really pulled a 200-page surprise on something that's seen this much action? I don't know either way, but I personally think it's a little suspicious...

Bill Status of SB1673

/Don't speak 'Legislator', so not sure what exactly the guy pissed his diddies over...

Agreed. It's so rare for the legislative process to work at anything other than a glacial pace that this was almost certainly pure political grandstanding (or pure psychosis).

But just for the future reference of any farkers who are also sitting legislators, if you honestly feel someone is gaming the system to push through questionable legislation, you vote NO - pretty simple shiat.

I would have thought that the guy who wrote the beautiful theme to Hill Street Blues would be a lot calmer.

The best part is when he punched the papers in the air. I laughed pretty hard at that. Other than that though, his rant lacked substance. Didn't really go into what the bill was going to do to his constituents, and if the facts that some other Farker brought up is true in that he helped drafted this legislation and is ranting that he couldn't push more right-wing BS into the bill to screw people over, then actually having the gall to talk about "letting his people go", then this guy is a grade-A douchebag.

Illinois is run by Chicago.

This guy is a downstater; we tend to get frustrated and blow off steam from time to time.

2012-05-31 07:27:08 PM
Legislation is NOT handed out without being reviewed for its contents. Anyone interested in the legislation knows exactly what is in it before they sit down.

Here would be a good questions to pose:
Who drafted the legislation he was speaking about?

I've seen fake bravado before .... and this is it. Especially the part where he waits for the papers to fall so he can punch them. It's all an act. It's a routine.

Which means the next questioned asked is:
What does Rep. Bost want added to the legislation that is not in there.

2012-05-31 07:36:26 PM
He states we live in a Democracy and then describes a Constitutional Republic........

Dumbass.
