If you want to make a substantial edit or content inclusion to a contentious article, particularly a biography article (for which there are very stringent policies to prevent libel, which could have LEGAL ramifications for the Wikimedia foundation), use the article's Talk page to reach consensus on the inclusion. Wikipedia functions primarily on the concept of Bold, Revert, Discuss- a user makes a bold edit, it is reverted (reason on History page), the article's editors hash out the edit on the talk page until an agreement is made.

If you make it clear you're not interested in playing by these years-old rules, the point you're trying to make is forfeit, and you deserve your multiple blocks.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:BRD for more information about Bold, Revert, Discuss
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:BLP for the specific biography policies.

It's actually kind of sad that this guy is all torqued off on his terrible blog, all the while not understanding that what he did (repeated unsourced additions to a biographical article, without discussion) is explicitly against WP policies and has been for years. It's not content-related censorship of any form.

"Contentious material about living persons (or recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced-whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable-should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion.[2] Users who persistently or egregiously violate this policy may be blocked from editing." -WP:BLP

Wait... a guy whose source pool is littered with blogs and opinion pieces is having his edits removed? WTF? I never!

/Of course, he is an expert in shiatty blogs.

Isn't libel what Conservapedia is for?

astro716: Isn't libel what Conservapedia is for?

Exactly. People can go to Conservapedia to see that Obama was "reportedly" born in Hawaii. It used to be "allegedly", but they changed it a few months ago.

In other words, he's a self made victim.

Golly, how was he able to write that blog on such a tall cross?

I can understand why he'd be so upset - I'd be pissed too if I committed a lot of time writing about how Yuengling, Binder Clips and Grey Poupon were destroying the fabric of democracy.

As an admin of a user-content driven site, I frequently deal with people who don't read the rules, post stuff against the rules, then get all upset when they get slapped on the wrist when caught, or get a tempban when they continue doing the stuff they got caught for.

I have no sympathy for this guy, but he has all my hate and anger. At least, everything I can muster about 3 hours after my bedtime.

Oh Christ, it's that guy who's blog consists pretty much entirely of repeated postings of his ever expanding list of things that Make Obama evil, and now he''s pissed that he couldn't paste his whole damn list into Wikipedia.

The Obama administration gave a very invasive patdown to a three-year-old boy in a wheelchair, which caused the boy to tremble in fear.
The Obama administration gave an aggressive patdown to a seven-year-old girl with cerebral palsy.
The Obama administration said that a four-year-old girl was a "high security threat."
The Obama administration placed an 18-month-old girl on its no fly list.
The Obama administration gave a patdown to Henry Kissinger.

Sure, it was the Obama administration did these things. Not the TSA. Not the TSA that was created during George W's administration. No, it was the Obama administration. The Obama administration roams the countryside, roughing up children. And Henry Kissinger.

On another note. I notice they've finally corrected the entry for the Dragonriders of Pern series for Anne McCaffrey. Must have been in honor of her death.

They've finally stopped saying that riders and their dragons defend the tree.

I think so, but I'm not reading again. A few of them were brought up at one point by MSNBC at one time if memory serves me. Which probably isn't well, since I only clicked to watch it while I had the flu and was suffering from flu medicine induced insomnia from the medicine that was supposed to make me drowsy.

As soon as they let us uber-edit Joe Farah's page, WND's page, and Newt's page, we'll insist they open up Obama's.

For instance, I tried to edit Newt's page, but it was removed. I tried 28 more times, and now I'm blocked.

I simply wanted to expand on Newt's family values platform. In the interest of full disclosure tranparency, of course.

If Wikipedia wasn't a little too enthusiastic about giving trolls and idiots the benefit of the doubt these days, I'd go over and block his ass just for spite (if it's not blocked already). But I like my admin bit, and too many of them are being pulled for dealing harshly with morons presently.

I say we just replace all of Newt's with this:

Gingrich the Newt

We'd like to set the record straight by singing of the newt
For newts are open-minded; they are flexible and cute
A newt can breathe in water and a newt can breathe on land
And if you are a different critter newts will understand
Newts are not mean-spirited; they never are unfair
Newts are not underhanded and are not afraid to share
Newts do not have bad haircuts because newts are lacking hair
But the newt called Gingrich drives all true newts to despair
Gingrich the Newt's a disgrace to the name
When true newts see him they feel so ashamed
He's the black sheep of the newt family
The one rotten fruit on the newt family tree
Newts don't prey on other newts; in that they don't believe
And you will never catch a newt with something up his sleeve
They're tolerant to different environments and so
They don't sen little newties to the orphanage to grow
What kind of newt wears a suit and a tie
And frightens small children as he rushes by?
But we admit that his suit suits him good
Much more discreet than a sheet and a hood
A newt may be cold-blooded but he won't go to extremes
And you can trust a newt to be exactly what he seems
Newts are sorry if you're sad; they're happy if you're gay
But Gingrich is perverse, and worse
He's proud to be that way
Gingrich the Newt is puffed up like a toad
So full of himself that he's bound to explode
And then we'll raise up our tails in salute
A fitting tribute
To that horse's patoot
Gingrich the Newt

Don't forget the mountains of cheese and french fries they put on salads. The first time I was served a "Pittsburgh salad" I thought it was a joke. They took the one healthy item on a menu and turned it into something one ladle of gravy shy of poutine.

Liberals are often confused by facts and rational thinking. Instead of participating in the discussion by offering logical well thought out responses, they will often shoot off snarky random personal attacks. (e.g. mittens)
