Why would anyone try to sabotage in that manner? Had the fraud gone unnoticed he'd be sailing through to the election.

2012-05-30 04:04:59 PM
Actually, it looks like more than 1000 of the signatures have been forged and the issue is being investigated as fraud. The rumor is that someone outside his camp worked with his volunteers to commit the fraud.

He's going to run as a write-in candidate (he was a shoo-in) which will cost his campaign a boatload of money and makes his election an iffy proposition. Even more so if you consider that he's somewhat of a maverick and has voted against the GOP standard on a number of issues.

Maybe Santa worked some Christmas magic for the guy who breeds his reindeer?

Ever think of that one, Libs? Now you're going against Santa Clause.

I don't see how raising reindeer to pull sleds is such a shameful thing. Someone is out there raising Clydesdales to pull the Budweiser wagon. At least you can eat the reindeer after their sled duties. Smoked reindeer heart is pretty tasty.

"McCotter's 11th Congressional District was reconfigured after the 2010 Census by Republican legislators who wanted to make sure it would be virtually impossible for U.S. Rep. Gary Peters (or any other Democrat) to win there. Vaguely resembling an upside-down fishhook, the district was awkwardly plotted to encompass the reliably Republican enclaves of Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills while skirting Pontiac, Southfield, Farmington Hills and most of West Bloomfield."

Stopped feeling sorry for him at this point.

Headso: See libtards this is why we need voter ID.

Why? This wasn't an election. These were petitions, and the current law worked EXACTLY as it should, invalid signatures were thrown out. See how that works? Voter ID would not have changed anything.

The Clydesdales are cool. They bring them to downtown Phx every year for the Fiesta Bowl parade, and on the Sunday before the parade, they hook 'em up and go to all the bars in downtown Phx. I got to see them, pet them, even feed them carrots 2 years in a row. I also think the reindeer thing is petty. It's not like the guy thinks he is raising them for the REAL Santa. We all know Santa grows his own.

/Reindeer, that is.

Is Santa's Reindeer an actual variety of weed? Because that sounds like it would be magical.

Sad part is, the reindeer guy is actually expected to win since this is a heavily republican area, which surprises me because I see how diverse this area is.

/Yes, I live here.
//I think the reason it is heavily republican is bunch of old people live here and they are the only ones cares to vote.

The reason his district is heavily republican is because it has been ridiculously gerrymandered by the GOP-controlled legislature. Seriously, his district looks like a fish hook.

2012-05-30 10:16:58 PM
Hmm. It appears that if I hadn't moved last year, I'd be not voting for this guy.

2012-05-30 10:22:55 PM
Also, I wouldn't be so sure either McCotter or the Republican candidate will win. For example, I can't imagine Troy will vote for a Tea Party guy after the mess they got into electing a Tea Party mayor. I could easily see McCotter and the other guy evenly splitting the vote, opening the door for whoever the Democrat is.

My understanding is that he was a reliable Republican driod except he supported the auto bailouts. Considering his district is in SE Michigan, supporting the autos isn't really a radical position to take. I guess the Tebaggers wanted to go with a candidate who supported 100% of their dogma. Well, they got their wish. Merry Christmas.

I bicycle through Troy, Birmingham and Bloomfield a lot. From what I notice from the lawn signs is that there is a conservative leaning in that area. They are well educated though and I don't think a Teabagger sits well with that area.

McCotter should have gotten enough petitions but he didn't. That would be his personal responsibility.

The conversation in which he tried to explain to her how he failed to get on the ballot must have been entertaining.
