Wow," responds one Brentwood TV producer, "if Family Guy was that funny on a regular basis, it might get nominated."

Okay, what's his FARK handle?

2012-05-30 12:33:46 PM
Stereotyping any particular ethnic group is just not cool and can lead others (with the wrong intentions) to feel a certain license to take shots

So you'll be calling one of your family members to start the paperwork on the lawsuit then?

I'll bet a month of TFD this biatch didn't say a word when she saw the trailer for 'The Dictator'.

Self-obsessed hypocrites.

Family Guy probably deserved some Emmy consideration years ago, but not now.

Still a shame if they haven't actually won one, but it's far too late.

2012-05-30 12:49:49 PM
Stewie, wryly notes: "It's a secret ballot. You can still tell people you voted for Modern Family."

Okay, that's funny.

FTA: "While the show has picked up five Emmys, it has never won for outstanding comedy series and received its only nomination in the category in 2009. "

The only thing funnier is "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia".

Say what you will about Seth but he's got a set of brass balls.

This is as funny as that time Hitler baked Gingerbread men.

Is it really a stereotype? Is Brentwood devoid of Jewish people who work in the entertainment industry?

The Rat Pack used to say worse things about Sammy.

NuttierThanEver: Say what you will about Seth but he's got a set of brass balls.

He makes a lot of jokes about there being a lot of Jews in entertainment and law. I can't believe he hasn't been blacklisted from Hollywood and sued for everything he has for such stereotypical comments.

You think THAT'S bad? What about the time I... 1) Went shopping with 2) Benito Mussolini , and brought back a 3) Starving African child to 4) Paint the garage ?

You think THAT'S bad? What about the time I... 1) water skied with 2) Ellen Cleghorne, and brought back a 3) popsicle to 4) win the talent show ?

Black and Jewish, and married to a Swede. I don't know how he survived. I guess money and notoriety takes the edge off all the slights.

What's a little casual racism between people who, if they object, we can simply accuse of being humorless prigs?

Those people are jewish like I'm catholic.

IN 2009 the Office was better than FG. Better than everything FG had done before or after 2009. Not to say FG isn't funny but it isn't in the Office's league. It isn't even in Threat Level Midnight's leauge. Seth should have realized this before flapping his yap about it.

Well he gave as good as he got, that was the point they made fun of all of it so people would see how stupid racism really is. Sammy calls Frank "Dean" and then says "all those guys look alike". Best of all everyone of those jokes was written by Joey Bishop a Jewish dude.

Frank stood up to Joe Kennedy and insisted that Sammy and Mia have the wedding when they wanted, but Sammy changed the date to appease JFK.

2012-05-30 04:29:53 PM
Does anyone else find it strange that TFA didn't name a single one of the moguls?

"one Brentwood TV producer", "Another producer, who lives nearby in Pacific Palisades", "Yet another adds....including this Brentwood Jew". Seems odd that they feel the need to hide, especially since they are the ones calling the shots in Hollywood.

I get sick of phoned in Family Guy jokes years ago.

"I got an idea, lots of Jewish people will be looking at this, wouldn't it be funny if we were like, 'Hey Jews, vote for us."

"Hmmm, do we have anything else?"

"No."

"Okay, good enough."

And Dean Martin got them a wedding present of a couch. He told Frank he was getting it reupholstered in a zebra print.

"So it won't clash with either of them."

Y'know, back before Family Guy became popular, it was the hipster darling show. Everyone loved it, and curses upon all the plebeians who didn't watch and enjoy it! They're why we can't have nice things on TV!

Then, Family Guy came back, and made the mistake of becoming popular. Now, the hipster love is gone, and curses upon all the plebeians who watch and enjoy it, and this is why we can't have nice things on TV.

Yet another adds: "While I think Family Guy is a genuinely funny show, we all -- including this 'Brentwood Jew' -- need to think twice about this kind of humor. Stereotyping any particular ethnic group is just not cool and can lead others (with the wrong intentions) to feel a certain license to take shots. Surely Seth [MacFarlane] has better stuff than this."

Clearly he doesn't

As someone who initially hated Family Guy, I quickly became a fan of the first three seasons, which I think are really funny. After Family guy came back, each season became progressively worse than the previous season up till now where Family Guy simply goes on a political, or religious tirade for no reason, or attacks someone and has simply become NOT FUNNY.

The writing on the first three seasons was top notch and deserving of an Emmy.

The writing on the current season of Family Guy is worse than horrible "Scrubs 2.0" t.v. show.

I'm referring more to the fact that he called them Jews.

FirstNationalBastard: fillahbuster: "I told that racist joke to be ironic" is the new "It's OK, I have many black friends."

What if you have black friends to be ironic?

Then you have black friends. Where's the irony there? Is it because you're the kind of person who would never have black friends? Well, if you have black friends, even if you're the type of person who would never have black friends, then you still have black friends despite your reasons for making those friends. No irony there. Any theoretical irony is removed by the facts.

Likewise, the only way one can ironically tell a racist (or otherwise exclusively offensive) joke is if the racism is directed at oneself. So when my ex-girlfriend once asked me why Helen Keller couldn't drive, that bordered on an ironically sexist joke (the answer, of course, is "Because she was a woman"). When I repeat the joke, I'm flirting with being an asshole. There's a difference there.

2012-05-31 08:25:58 AM
I'm sure if I sat down with a few jews and talked, one of them might come to the conclusion that I am to some degree anti semitic. If that were true, I still would hate Seth Mcfarlane more.

I think this Producer is stereo typing Jews, he appears to think there are only bloated, overprivileged Brentwood Jews. When actuallly there are many different types of Jews.........................but there all bloated, overprivileged, we can all agree on that.
