In this article we learn that Trump is 'shiat spaghetti' and 'news catnip'. And this is from Republicans. Excellent choice, Willard!

2012-05-30 08:48:45 AM
"That was a big steaming plate of shiat spaghetti Trump just deposited on CNN for his supposed friend Romney," former Bush speechwriter David Frum tweeted

Romney/shiat Spaghetti 2012!

Romney says he'll stand tough against China, Iran and the Soviet Union. He can't even stand up to Trump, Nugent and the GOP.

2012-05-30 08:49:58 AM
Because it allows Romney to court the crazy conspiratorial idiot vote without having to get his hands dirty. The primaries showed he had a problem with getting the teabaggers behind him after all.

FTFA: Romney, known for his lockstep discipline

I know there is $ome rea$on why Mitt hang$ around with Trump, but I ju$t can't put my finger on it. I know it doe$n't make $en$e, but there you go.

Maybe Mitt is secretly boning Melania behind Ann's back, and Donald will keep it hush-hush if Romney lets him hang around.

2012-05-30 09:44:50 AM
We've learned that Romney has an insatiable desire for people to "be on his side" and that he will set aside all judgement at the sight of someone willing to say something--anything --that is either good about him or bad about Obama, no matter how damaging it might be to him or his brand.

FTFA

In the case of Trump, there are additional considerations for Romney. For one thing, Trump helping the campaign raise millions of dollars and potentially committing even more of his own personal fortune to the election thanks to post-Citizens United campaign finance laws.

Ding ding ding ding ding...

Trump doesn't change the voter landscape much. Anyone that finds Trump politically appealing, particularly with the Birther nonsense, was already voting Republican. He may re-align a few of the strays, but he's doing jack shiat to sway independents and moderates.

His usefulness will be most felt by bringing in large amounts of Super PAC cash. That's it.

2012-05-30 09:47:54 AM
Mitt forgot one of the most important rules of campaigning - never stand next to someone whose personality outshines your own. You only make yourself seem even more boring and unappealing than you otherwise would.

It's hilarious.

Trump may be the butt of cable news jokes, but polls have consistently shown him to be the most dangerous potential third-party candidate, with a large base of sympathizers on the right.

I think they need to check their math. I don't believe this for a second.

Yes, that's why Romney is appearing at a fundraiser with him, all because of the desperate Obamas.

I don't think anyone has ever been born in Amercia.

Depends on what they mean by most dangerous. I doubt they actually consider him a threat to win the Presidency, or even a few states. It's also most dangerous by comparison, because who else can you think of that is/could run a third party campaign? Nader? Gary Johnson? RON PAUL?

I'd buy that he could be dangerous as an enemy, regardless of whether he's a candidate or not. In a tight race I could see Trump costing Romney some critical votes.

Don't count out Trump's popularity. He has the #1 non-sports show in all of America on Sunday night on the Comcast family of networks

Yep. He could have the potential be the Ross Perot of this election.

But since he's stumping for Romney, I doubt he'll go on his own.

All of this begs the question of why Romney, known for his lockstep discipline, is sticking with the most half-cocked and distracting surrogate possible.

AAAAAAAH!!!

Romney has been loathe to pick fights with the right as he continues to consolidate support from conservatives suspicious of his late-life conversion to their cause.

How does anyone take Trump seriously in the political arena?

This point needs to be repeated: Donald Trump lost money with a casino. A casino. A business where people walk in off the street, hand you their money, and leave with nothing in return.

In an election where the economy is heavy on peoples minds, would you really want the U.S. to take our cues from a guy who lost money with a casino?

I think it might be time to put to bed the notion that Romney is a disciplined campaigner. He's clearly incompetent. He took what should have been a glorious day for him in his campaign - the clenching of the nomination - and turned it into yet another day where he has to play defense because of some stupid move he made. These are not the maneuvers of an intelligent man. If he wasn't getting multiple do-overs from the press, he'd be buried before even getting out of the gate. This man clearly does not know what he is doing.

2012-05-30 10:48:49 AM
But more importantly, Trump could be infinitely more dangerous as a spurned Romney supporter than as a troublesome surrogate. Trump may be the butt of cable news jokes, but polls have consistently shown him to be the most dangerous potential third-party candidate, with a large base of sympathizers on the right. Even if he doesn't run, the prospect of an angry Trump on cable news blasting the Republican nominee as a traitor to the cause is an indignity that Romney wants to avoid.

You can dance with the Devil but you don't get to choose the music.

When you're as wealthy as Mitt or Donald, you don't have to be intelligent or competent or pleasant--you can hire people to be those things for you. Once he's the prez, Mitt probably plans to hire a body double a la Dave to handle the mundane details of running the free world. Mitt Prime will then be able to spend all his time in the White House's Incompetency Dome (specially built for Ford) without the hassle of doing or knowing stuff.

Yeah, it's the Obamas who are driving this story. Not the guy with the attitude and stupid hair.

Hint: Obama doesn't need Trump to make Romney look bad. But just as Romney will take the money that comes with Trump, Obama will take the bad publicity he provides for his opponent.

Really? Because that was EVERY NEWS REPORT I HEARD YESTERDAY AND THIS MORNING. Pretty much everybody mentioned Romney winning the nomination as an afterthought. Romney's sucking of the birther cock is getting huge play, and it troubles people. He needs to man up and grow a pair - but instead he gets caught on camera saying he'll lie in bed with whoever to get to 50.1%. This is not a man with a spine. And because it's Trump, it'll even make the kind of news the idol voters and e! watchers see.

How much does it suck to have to go on the defensive the day after Romney clinches the nomination? You should be kicking back, but instead you're in here in all caps with bold telling us how no one cares.

Has everyone forgotten that Trump has a show on a major broadcast network, with millions of people inviting him in to their living room on a weekly basis?

The Romney campaign thinks Trump has some mass appeal. Stop laughing, I said its what the Romney campaign thinks, remember how clueless their communications strategy has been.

They think this means Joe and Jill CouchPotato like the guy or relate to him somehow, andbeing seen alongside Trump will somehow make them relate to Romney.

Another problem with sh*t spaghetti is that it doesn't wash out of your clothes very easily. I think the biggest consequence from this Trump fiasco is that he won't be able to make him go away later in the campaign.

When is Romney going to release all of his marriage certificates? I'm not convinced he's a polygamist, I'm just asking questions. A lot of stories are getting out there and people are talking. Why isn't the media demanding that he release his marriage certificates in their entirety? If he would just release all of them we could put this issue to rest.

Well put. Considering they were originally using Ted Nugent to get the youth vote, it seems plausible.
