A preview of one of the new 'Zomney'-mode features was recently unveiled. I understand the target audiences are so-called "Independents," or a group of registered voters hypothesized to exist in the U.S. political center and have no strong attachment to either Democratic or Republican party identity codes.

I love how all the Fark Liberals here are so smug, assuming that a President with a 48% disapproval rating and 8% unemployment is just going to cruise to victory in a landslide. It feels like May 2010 all over again, there's no way those idiot Tea Party people are going to win any seats in congress, they'll be laughed out of the voting booth, I can't wait until the Democrats get their filibuster proof majority in November. Sound familliar?

and granted, I'm not saying Obama is going to lose, I'm pretty sure he won't, but it's not going to be nearly as easy as the people here seem to make it out to be. If nothing else, it's going to be a close one, even the lefty analysts I read concede that this election is going to be a lot more like 2004 than 2008.

Now that he's got the nomination sewn up does he start sprinting left faster than the front row at the Daytona 500 or is he trapped in a Birther/Anti-Soshulism loop?

If only real Americans are born in this country, and have the proof to back that claim up, then wouldn't any evidence from a disruptive government be invalid since it's not direct proof of birth? Therefore, the only real way to prove citizenship is to be present before one's birth.

/That should tweak Romney's logic drives

It will probably be a decent horse race. Probably fairly close, at least in terms of the popular vote, if not the electoral college. But five months is several lifetimes in American politics. Anything can happen, and events halfway across the world could affect the election here in ways no one can yet foresee. Never underestimate the power of any American political party or candidate to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I seriously doubt it will be a cakewalk for either of the major candidates. And who knows what will happen in the Congressional elections.

...this is of course predicated upon the notion that you can actually feel anything.

It won't be a walk in the park due to the built-in anything-but-fartbama vitriol. These people don't suddenly get apathetic and stay home. The question is....what is Romney offering that could possibly improve upon the ass-whooping electoral totals McCain endured even as he inspired great swaths to his side with Palin? Even if his VP rider isn't a moron? What is Romney bringing to the table that can't be swatted like a fly? People can be dumb, but many (if not most) see the so-called "job creator" bullsh*t for what it is.

Let's say that some are not as enamored with Obama as they were. Let's presume that the fuzzy unicorn history of electing a non-white guy isn't a big deal in 2012. Fair enough. But the GOP is in no position to capitalize on it. I'd be willing to bet a real world $500 that the electoral numbers will be similar this cycle for a myriad of reasons - from Obama basically owning national security to the fact that people who watch FOX only have one way to vote - Romney or no one/siphoned by Perot-esque teatard yet to be announced.

Minds will not be changed this year. The few that will are being systematically offended by the GOP. It's why they're referred to to as "moderates." And trust me, no moderates want to hear what the GOP is selling. The only open ports in that network are the ones who already read WND and Brietbart, and it's not like they were going to be persuaded.

Easy? No.
Funny? Hell yes!

I can't wait for the derp to get deeper and deeper from Romney's camp, while Obama's side just keep stirring things up. Trolling, some might say, to force Romney further and further to the extreme right. And the further Right he goes, the more Moderates will come over to Obama's side, not wanting to be associated with the "Tea Bagger President".

In a few years, when Romney writes his memoirs, I hope he dishes on just how sick it must have made a RINO Moderate like himself to play to the Tea Party derpists.

Living the dream, my friend. Well, in truth I'm sitting on a dark balcony and can't find my cigarettes. Or my pants. Watched some basketball to stave off the NFL off-season shakes. I don't even dig basketball.

Watched some drunk octogenarian fall from a scooter tonight, on the touristy part of Decatur St.. When I tried to help she snapped at me like a turtle. You know that lady who fell and couldn't get up? Yeah, they bite. I'm gonna start stepping over them as politely as I can.

Sure, it will likely be fairly close. I remember the consensus around this time in May was that the Democrats were going to get their clock cleaned. They were going to lose the Senate for sure and would be luck to hold the House. That talk changed to likely loss of the House and maybe keep the Senate and so on. The entire time, however, did have agreement that 2010 would be very ugly for them.

The Senate looked to be a hold later only because the Republicans ran some very bad candidates. Sharon Angle, Christine Odonell, etc. and because those candidates were so bad, it saved the Senate for the Democrats. Now the Republicans are running a very bad candidate for President. Obama may have depressed numbers, but his likes:dislikes are leaps and bounds ahead of Romney.

I want to know what people that use the phrase "Fark Liberals" think it means. Do they not understand what the phrase "Fark Independent" means? Is it brainless mimicry meant to be an insult? Or, are they saying liberal posters are not really liberal?
