Hmmm. I hate going downtown, since it's a ghost town full of junkies, drunks, pervs and weirdos, but enough about the fark party. I'll check my schedule.

2012-05-29 02:02:59 PM
I will be there! Gettin my drank on!

2012-05-29 02:14:23 PM
The weekend before the election? >:|

/one or two weeks later, and I'd be up for a trip up.

2012-05-29 02:17:57 PM
Um... WHAT

I move out of Sacramento after living there my whole life and now that I'm 2,000 miles away there's a Fark party two weeks after I move? Wow. I'm going to cry.

2012-05-29 02:56:54 PM
Dammit, I'm 99% sure I'm going to be out of town next weekend. Oh well, maybe next time.

2012-05-29 02:59:31 PM
I'm going to attempt to make it, but my batshiat insane cousin wants to come stay for the weekend. Actually, she'd be a perfect TFette, so maybe I'll bring her. I have zero faith in her coming to visit anyway.

2012-05-29 03:08:55 PM
I'm flying down to Harris Ranch for lunch that day, so it depends on how much cow I eat.

2012-05-29 03:42:03 PM
J Street? eeewww... I might try it on a Saturday, though

/can I get a guarantee of immunity?

2012-05-29 04:37:19 PM

Teriaki: I will be there! Gettin my drank on!

Oh sure, AFTER I move away.

How often do you bathe? This might be a clue.

2012-05-29 05:24:44 PM
Can't make it. I'm buggered to damnation and I haven't got a penny....

2012-05-29 05:27:10 PM
Well, damn. I'll be at a 50th birthday party that night. If I were slightly less mature and impulsive, I'd flake out on my fiancee's friend's husband's party and suffer whatever consequences come in order to hang out with a bunch of basement-dwellers I've never met, but hey...you gotta grow up some time.

2012-05-29 05:40:57 PM
Whoa, a FARK party in my neck of the woods? Whodathunkit?

Downtown sucks for a few reason, but the biggest one is the cops.

GaperKiller, is this cousin of yours hot? When you say she's batshiat insane, do you mean in the good way?

bigpete53, that's what we were waiting for. Oh man, burn!

2012-05-29 05:41:01 PM
So after living 3 blocks from Streets for 7 years, there's a FARK party a month after I move...bastards. good thing I just moved to Tallac Villiage!

2012-05-29 05:44:51 PM
Heh, I saw Streets of London and was hoping it was the one in Folsom.

This may be worth a drive into Sac though. Hmmm

2012-05-29 05:46:57 PM
Oh, goddamnitsomuch!!! I have a prior commitment that night.

2012-05-29 05:49:57 PM
Sorry....you say Sac. Then say "Streets of London". So this is just the same FARK crap of pretending we are what we aren't? And that what really doesn't work...does?

2012-05-29 05:50:31 PM
Thoroughly committed to horrific pregnancy-related nausea. Can't imagine being surrounded by you lushes and the glory of British food would help.

/shame, really

Me?

Well, I hate calling it Sacramento when I think of it more as a Sack of ... nevermind.

(Sorry to those that actually live in Sacramento. :P)

kiwimoogle84: Wow. I'm going to cry.

there are worse things - I only know this for certain because I checked, but yes - in fact, there are worse things. Like for instance - having to wait at a red light. While missing a fark party is indeed a horrific notion, it doesn't compare to the utter terror and endless suffering of waiting at a red light.

//I keed! last weekend's SD party had saner people than I thought would be there

2012-05-29 05:56:06 PM

ChadM89: bigpete53, that's what we were waiting for. Oh man, burn!

I don't care about the rest of you sharts. I just wanted Teriaki. I met the Sacramento Farkers I wanted to meet while I lived there (for a really long time, mind you!).

2012-05-29 06:00:10 PM
Don't do a party here. Get the fark out of Sacramento. It's the worst city in this godawful state... Even worse than the People's Republic of Berkeley.

Oh, and long live Rob, Arnie, and Dawn.

Their food is actually not bad, as far as I recall. The fish and chips is/are pretty good; and they've got some heart attack-inducing bacon cheesey fries that are quite good/bad.

You've clearly never been pregnant. I'm currently choosing meals on how much they'd suck coming back up. Things also smell drastically different than normal, it's awful.

/Kid better be awesome.

Celebrating the Jubilee?
If it were a few days later I could make it. I'm heading to SF after the Jubilee celebrations.

I was almost with you, but RAD are the worst. So very bad.

Sacramento's like that sad girl everyone knows with zero self-esteem. Sure she's pretty enough, but she's always going for the the asshole instead of the guy who will treat her right. Like RAD (don't they all live with our hot, dumb, sister Roseville?) and the Maloofs.

ANYONE FROM SAN FRANCISCO coming in for this? I will carpool, help pay for gas, be a designated driver if need be. My email is in my profile.

Ride Amtrak up, the station is a moderate walk/short cab ride from Streets. Then you can start your drinking on the way up here, which will totally improve your impression of our town. Or so I have heard.

To be fair, Rob is actually a smart dude (as are the other two, though they play their archetypes well), maybe even as smart as he thinks he is. It's just that their fans are really dumb; so they get away with ridiculous leaps in logic, much like Limbaugh and the Faux News brigade.

It's a good line and it's accurate... oh, you mean the shout out... Well, I was born in this pit and I've died in this pit so I figure I ought to represent the only good thing currently in this pit. Simple, really.

I've never understood the self-hate so many people have around here. Sacramento is like every other city with its problems, stupidity and failures... but having lived here 5 years now, it's a helluva decent place to call home, warts and all.

That said, Streets isn't my first choice for a fark party bar in town... I'd always envisioned it at Old Tavern with its incontinent roof held together with xmas lights and restrooms an inspection away from Superfund status.

Well said madam, its a terrible place to visit, but if you work a day job, its a nice town to live in
I hate every other feature, but must admit "Bad News Over Happy Music" is a guilty pleasure!

This is going to occur on the same day as Sacramento's "Pride Parade". Coincidence?

/NTTAWWT.

Really? Sacramento? You guys couldn't have a Fark party in San Francisco again? Awww, fark it, I'll make the drive either in SF or to Sactown for a Fark party.

/Lives in the Bay Area.

Yes, Bad News/Happy Music is great but also reinforces my point. Epic assholery, we eat it up then ask for more.

kiwimoogle84: ///Fark it I'll just throw it myself

This is what I did kiwimoogle. I still consider myself relatively new to the area, and I don't get out on the town much. I was just asking about why there hasn't been a party here in a while, and the next thing you know I'm throwing one together. It's going to be fun, if a little thrown together. I'll be painting faces all day at a fundraiser so I might be a little late, and I'll certainly need a drink.

As for location, I just asked around and Streets of London seemed to be the consensus.

I'm sorry for those that can't make it, and I'm looking forward to meeting those who can.

Wow. Maybe you should move. Sacramento is a great town. I truly loved living there, and I miss it quite frequently.

This is a very good point. Sacramento is very down on itself, mostly by folks who live in the suburbs and haven't visited midtown or East Sacramento in years, if ever.

Streets of London, on a Saturday night?

That's a frat party, not a fark party.

2012-05-29 07:23:50 PM
Streets is actually a good choice. Any complaints wil just be "it's not close to me" or "it's not my cup of tea." It's about as centrally located as you can get, nice selection of beer and they've now got liquor, front and back patio, big tables where you can actually talk to each other, used to have a nice CD jukebox, foozball... I'm actually really wishing I could go.

I agree, it is a great town. I've lived in many places, visited many more, and I like Sacramento a lot.
I'm having fun here, I just don't get out for the night life very often.

From your mouth to god's ears. We want to move to Az. to her family since mine's decidedly Sacromentian.

Has it become frat? I thought that might happen when they started offering hard alcohol.

If you're a RAD fan, you'll fit in perfectly with Sheriff Joe's posse.
