Repeat?

UH OH!!
Neo: Whoa, deja vu.
Trinity: What did you just say?
Neo: Nothing, I just had a little deja vu.
Trinity: What did you see?
Cypher: What happened?
Neo: A LINK went past us, and then another that looked just like it.
Trinity: How much like it, was it the same LINK?
Neo: Might have been, I'm not sure.
Morpheus: Switch, Apoc.
Neo: What is it?
Trinity: A deja vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix. It happens when they change something.

Drinking at work would also make me feel better about my job.

2003-11-07 11:26:45 AM
i may feel better about it -- but doesn't actually make me do my job better...

my boss and I disagree about which is more important.

2003-11-07 11:27:22 AM
How about masturbating?

2003-11-07 11:27:40 AM
fapping at work makes me want to stay there all day.

2003-11-07 11:27:53 AM
Porn just makes me feel better all the time

2003-11-07 11:28:03 AM
If drinking were work, I still don't think minding someone else's business would be my idea of a good time.

2003-11-07 11:28:17 AM
Farking at work makes me feel lots better...

2003-11-07 11:30:33 AM
I propose every day is PAYDAY! I'd run to work every day...

2003-11-07 11:32:17 AM
I find that napping at work makes the day go by much faster.

2003-11-07 11:32:53 AM
Cool, now I have a reason to fire up Jedi Academy here at work.

Can playing Counter-Strike at work make me feel better? Or just increase my chances of going postal?

2003-11-07 11:40:02 AM
I can't play video games at work. It detracts from my Farking time.

2003-11-07 11:40:25 AM
I find that taking a hit before coming in and one during lunch helps a lot. Of course, since I do animation and graphics, it really helps. I've found that, if I don't, I end up just pissing on the conference room carpet, making a musky marsh out of the company.

2003-11-07 11:42:51 AM
I don't think it's the act of playing computer games at work that makes you feel better about your job, but the ability to play them. Having someone looking over your shoulder every minute of every day sucks.

2003-11-07 11:43:12 AM
i submitted this link, and the admins stole it from me, changing "is good for you" to "makes you feel better about your job." I can see how important that change was

not bitter

Can playing Counter-Strike at work make me feel better? Or just increase my chances of going postal?

Neither: it makes you more effective when you go postal.

Calling Dr. Heizenberg. Calling Dr. Heizenberg. Experiment 21807 needs your assistance.

2003-11-07 11:46:32 AM
No, it's hearing your boss scream from down the hall right after you put a railgun slug through his head that really brightens your day.

Receiving clear instructions and being left alone to do my job without interruptions makes me feel better about my job. That, and being allowed to listen to Ayreon at a reasonable volume.

I used to work an office job downtown. They announced in a meeting that all employees would have to notify the floor manager when wee (lol) needed to use the restroom.

"Mr. Perez, you have a question?"
"No, ma'am. I would like to offer my 2 weeks notice."

2003-11-07 11:48:28 AM
hmmm,
playing with high power lasers
occasionaly igniting post-its with said lasers
if i only had a jet pack, and body armour
i could turn my job into a video game.
atleast until they fired me.

on the other hand my pos laptop does support Doom.

'scuse me jimmy, i have to frag something.

C'mon folks, simple psychology at work here: Games at work is a novelty. When the novelty wears off, they would all go back to hating their jobs again.

Studies can be stupid.

2003-11-07 11:57:36 AM
Okay, so lately we've heard that both surfing the web for personal sites can benefit you. Now comes game playing. We've also heard in the past that power naps during the workday and non-standard work schedules can also improve an employee's attitude, etc.

Chance that any of our American business overlords are going to in any way alter their management of the peons and the workday?

I think we all know the answer to this one...

2003-11-07 11:59:09 AM
I usualy can't make it through the day without playing Diablo 2 at least a few minutes (hours).

I enjoy my job a lot more if I huff 5 cans of spray paint during the day.

While it may make you feel better I doubt you'll go postal. You'll just make me jealous as hell wishing I could be playing at work. =(

sleeping underneath my desk in my office makes me feel better about my job

2003-11-07 12:20:08 PM
...under the desk bjs would improve tech support...

a little.

I feel better about my job on Friday afternoons, 'cause we usually smoke a joint at lunchtime.

EnderPerez: Great Maker! I thought they were anal where * I * work. Then again that might be coming up next staff meeting. Ya never know!

2003-11-07 12:26:08 PM
This is because there is a relationship created in your brain between your job and games. This is like saying that every time you take a shower, you get a bj. So now you feel a lot better about taking a shower from now on.

2003-11-07 12:33:37 PM
Word, mrfreewill. I know I'd murmur RTFM a lot less if I got a bj on the hour here at work.

I loved the little ad agency where I interned the summer after I graduated from college because every Friday at 4pm on the dot, they'd wheel out free cases of Heineken for the staff. Nothing like using an exacto knife when you're buzzed, I'm surprised I didn't slice off a finger. A damn shame they weren't hiring...

2003-11-07 12:56:16 PM
You got to drink at four? Dang! I want that job!

Our office was in a condemned building up until a few months ago. Luckily our legal system allowed us to continue working in it for two more years while the whole thing was in court. It wasn't that bad if you like rain water and asbestos and don't worry about things like your walls being structurally sound.

On the bright side, my bosses-bosses boss doesn't know what he is doing, my bosses boss doesn't want anyone to not like him and my boss plays chess and drops the "F-bomb" all day and I used to be able to spit anywhere I wanted. Not that I did....but I could have and no one would have said anything.

In fact, my bosses boss is watching me play on Fark right this very moment....Yeah, that's right, I am typing about you and I know you are looking over my shoulder reading it......caught you....now look away from the screen chubs.

I love being irreplacable.

I don't have to be at work to feel better about fapping

I don't have to be at fap to feel better about working

Computer games are fun

I'm that bastard that works in the gaming industry, and is required to play video games.

My office looks like an EBX exploded.

Right now, I'm working on a racing game. Later today, I will be forced to play Call of Duty multiplayer with my co-workers, while being forced to drink beer.

I worked at Burger King in college (and that was my BEST job), so yes, I do appreciate this.

If more hotties worked here, I'd have the best job in the universe.

2003-11-07 01:47:19 PM
I can't resist...

I love being irreplacable

OK, that's somewhere between
irreplaceable
not replaceable

and

implacable
not capable of being appeased, significantly changed, or mitigated

I have a guess on which one you actually may be...

2003-11-07 02:18:19 PM
Cuch,

Yeah, I made a typo. I usually try to belittle spelling nazi's....but yours was clever and closer to the truth than you could know.

"I compare games with a coffee break. If you are like me, you use them in strategic, functional, useful way," Professor Goldstein says.

Yeah, my usage of video games is always strategic, functional, and useful. Especially those all-day Diablo II marathons. They have the function of keeping my ass in a chair all day while my chores go undone.

Wish I had a job to play games at...

Let's hope you're not in charge of checking onscreen dialogue for spelling errors.

As someone who regularly plays poker, counter-strike, and views porn, not just AT work but AS work... I can still say I hate my job.

Go figure.
